It is possible to mix range voting system with condoncert one?[edit]

It is possible to mix range voting system with condoncert one? If yes, would it produce different results?201.78.151.111 (talk) 11:07, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Condorcet methods of voting make use of pairwise comparisons. Range voting does not, and does not satisfy the Condorcet criterion. I suppose you could vote with ranged ballots, then declare the winner to be the Condorcet candidate, if one exists. This indeed would give different results than the "raw" ranged vote would (at least in some cases). You can't really compare this hybrid method to a traditional Condorcet method, because the Condorcet method assumes ranked ballots, and there is no (bias-free) way to transform a range-vote ballot to a ranked-vote ballot.
