Peter Handke[edit]

For which work did Peter Handke win the Nobel prize in Literature. Google seems unable to provide the answer, simply overshadowing his win with past political stances. Thanks Anton 81.131.40.58 (talk) 08:12, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

From Nobel Prize in Literature: "Though individual works are sometimes cited as being particularly noteworthy, the award is based on an author's body of work as a whole." --Wrongfilter (talk) 08:14, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In Handke's case, what may have confused readers is the official text "for an influential work that with linguistic ingenuity has explored the periphery and the specificity of human experience." ([1]). Other times they wrote "for his/her work" or "for works" (plural), which makes it clearer that more than one individual work is meant. ---Sluzzelin talk 08:18, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
