Can the new Star Wars Solo movie bomb?[edit]

Is it likely? I've heard many people are not willing to watch it. Is there any reason to believe it might be a flop? Ericdec85 (talk) 09:30, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking from experience, no. We Star Wars fans are a fickle people and even those declaring that they will "never ever watch it!" probably will. To quote Comic Book Guy: "Worst Cosmic Wars ever! I will only see it three more times. Today." Regards SoWhy 09:40, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, why did you italicize the second quotation and not the first? —Tamfang (talk) 18:17, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The first is not a quote, it's just a colloquial summary with some emphasis. Regards SoWhy 09:10, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We don't do predictions here. —Tamfang (talk) 18:16, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
But here is the perfect place for it: https://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topic/19528-solo-a-star-wars-story-may-25-2018-ranger-solo-trailer-on-p281/. There is already 336 pages of discussion. PrimeHunter (talk) 18:43, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I guess we can refer to a few published predictions for the domestic (US + Canada) market: Solo: A Star Wars Story#Box office projections, https://pro.boxoffice.com/long-range-tracking-sicario-day-soldado-uncle-drew/. They are lower than the previous Star Wars films but still good. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:18, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"Can it flop?" is a rather different question than "Is it likely to flop?" ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:33, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
