Musical work[edit]

Please help identify a piece of music I once knew. It's classical, pretty certain it's 20th Century. It's for orchestra & voices - possibly an opera, but I think more an oratorio. Language is German. There is a falling passage at one point where a male voice (I think bass, but could be tenor) sings: "...(2-syllable, probably adjective) ist das Leben, ist der Tod." Can anyone help? thanks --2601:586:8002:2CF5:7823:ED7D:629A:A564 (talk) 23:36, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My guess is Gustav Mahler: Das Lied von der Erde, specifically "Das Trinklied vom Jammer der Erde". The two-syllable adjective would be "dunkel" (dark). --Wrongfilter (talk) 23:42, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it was 'dunkel' and that's the work, thank you! --2601:586:8002:2CF5:7823:ED7D:629A:A564 (talk) 23:51, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's not an opera or an oratorio; Mahler described it as a symphony, and it is as much one as an orchestral song cycle. Double sharp (talk) 05:24, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1980's movie about the Statue of Liberty[edit]

Anyone remember the name of the movie in the 1980's about the construction of the Statue of Liberty. This movie helped me discover that the statue was originally copper in color. I can't remember the actors/actresses. GoodDay (talk) 23:57, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Are you thinking of this[1] 1985 documentary? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 00:14, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It was a movie, that I seen. It might've been a French movie, rather then American. Just can't clearly remember. GoodDay (talk) 00:44, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A movie totally about the statue, and not just a segment of the movie? Do you remember anything else about it, like who might have been in it? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 00:51, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I can't remember anything more. GoodDay (talk) 01:08, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The one that springs to mind for me is Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. I think (although it isn't mentioned in the article so I could be wrong) that some of it was filmed during Conservation-restoration of the Statue of Liberty. MarnetteD|Talk 04:23, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's not that one. This TV-made-movie was about the construction of the statue. GoodDay (talk) 16:57, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bingo, that's it. Thanks IP. GoodDay (talk) 20:08, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I know this question is resolved, but I have to remark that I remember that Eiffel's statue's framework appeared in the 'film' to be about 35 feet high.Hayttom (talk) 16:07, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
