Update re: 1930s American actress Barbara Weeks[edit]

Following a discussion here on December 10 ("1930s American actress Barbara Weeks"), I have created a Barbara Weeks (radio actress) article about the radio actress who has often been confused with the movie actress Barbara Weeks. In case you didn't read the original discussion, the two women's careers overlapped in the 1930s, creating confusion then -- not to mention more confusion for those of us doing research more than a half-century later.

I think that the original "Barbara Weeks" article should be renamed "Barbara Weeks (film actress)" and that a disambiguation page should be created so that when a person types "Barbara Weeks" in the search box, both options would appear. I have no experience in creating a disambiguation page. If anyone would like to volunteer to do that, I will appreciate it. If not, I'll give it a try.

I've done the page move, which creates an automatic redirect. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 21:09, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've now converted the redirect (Barbara Weeks) into a disambiguation page (Barbara Weeks). -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 21:16, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I would appreciate any help anyone might have regarding the birth date and/or death date of the radio actress. I have failed to find either. Eddie Blick (talk) 20:17, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to this book, which actually discusses the film Weeks, the radio Weeks died in 1954. It says she got an obituary in Variety, so you could try rummaging around there. Clarityfiend (talk) 12:04, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the information and for updating the text and infobox on the page. I appreciate your help. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:38, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I found an obit from a pay site, from an Omaha newspaper of all things, dated Monday, July 5, 1954: "Veteran Radio Actress Barbara Frank Dies. New York (AP) - Barbara Weeks Frank, 47," [hence born 1906 or 1907] "who for 10 years before 1952 was Anne Malone in the daytime radio serial 'Young Doctor Malone,' died Sunday." [July 4, 1954] "She had been a leading radio actress for 18 years after appearing with many stock companies and in several Broadway productions in the 1930's." So does this sound right, or do they still have the two Barbara Weekses confused? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:53, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
From that same pay site, from the Sacramento Bee, the first two paragraphs are the same, followed by, "Among programs on which she appeared were Theater Guild Of The Air, Mr. District Attorney, The FBI In Peace And War and Counterspy. She was a native of Binghampton, NY, and was the wife of Carl Frank, radio-television actor, producer and director, who survives." ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:07, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There are a few others, but they are all the same AP story, with no new info. Information I found on ancestry.com suggests a birthdate of October 16, either 1906 or 1907. If the 47 is correct, it would be 1906. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:47, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Other ancestry.com info suggests father Edwin Rogers Weeks (1867-1940) and mother Grace Margaret Jillson (1881- after 1942). ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:55, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is the correct person. What you cited matches the information I have. I appreciate your help. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:38, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A couple of other leads you might want to follow up: she was in Linda's First Love, a syndicated series I can't find out much about, although it ran for 11 years. (Billboard article) One role that struck me. albeit not a big role, was in the rehearsal (at least) for Archibald MacLeish's Air Raid, which was broadcast in the Columbia Workshop series; I was toying with the idea of starting an article for it a couple of years ago but forgot about it when I was unfortunately sidetracked by the real world. The rehearsal itself was actually broadcast the day before the full version of the play. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 15:10, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I appreciate your suggestions. Eddie Blick (talk) 16:18, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

song transcription[edit]

hello, this is a short clip from a nuclear disarmament and anti-Cold War song recorded by the Soviet-Russian artist Marina Kapuro in English. Could someone tell me what she's singing:) specifically, what is the line before "will be yours and mine." What will? Perhaps your ears are better than mine. I tried googling the lyrics but to no avail Asmrulz (talk) 20:52, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
