There's a persistent legend that the 1960s-70s BBC cartoon Captain Pugwash included characters called "Master Bates", "Seaman Staines" and "Roger the Cabin Boy", but it's not true. Pugwash's crew were called Master Mate, Barnabas, Willy, and Tom the Cabin Boy. The show's creator, John Ryan, successfully sued two newspapers for repeating the untruth. Hello there, I have watched the movie " The Sacrament". In that movie, a certain song started playing at 20:59 minutes. It was a kind of rap song. The song started when lead actor Joe Swanberg started playing basketball with some boys in playground. What is that song name and who is the artist? What is so important about Jimi Hendrix?[edit]

To address the OP's question somewhat anecdotally . . . Yesterday I was listing to the BBC Radio 3 programme Private Passions (which is like a more highbrow version of the better known R4 programme Desert Island Discs). The guest, who is one of the World's leading Assyriologists from the British Museum, included a Hendrix track (Hey Joe) in his selection, citing him as "the most important guitarist of all time" (or words very closely to that effect). I think comparisons to composers and/or performers of similar stature to those the OP mentions were also made, but I can't remember the details.
