March 2[edit]

Every once in a while, a winner will refuse his Academy Award (e.g., Marlon Brando). Does anyone know what exactly does the Academy do with these trophies, when this happens? Also, does the winner have to "officially" notify the Academy that they refuse the Award? Otherwise, wouldn't the Academy simply always assume that the Award is indeed accepted ... and then just mail it off to the winner (by postal mail) if the winner did not attend the ceremony (for whatever reason)? Does anyone know how all of this works? Or any ideas / guesses? Thanks! Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:20, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The George C. Scott article doesn't come out and say, but it appears the award went elsewhere. If you research the trail of Scott's award, perhaps via google, you might find out the answer. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:39, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is unclear what happened to Marlon Brando's declined Oscar trophy. http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,296481,00.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.130.188.193 (talk) 01:52, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing Race vehicle[edit]

What was the small SUV the Amazing Race (US) teams were driving in the two recent Argentina episodes (episodes 1 & 2 of this season). It looked about the size and shape of a Ford Escape and I think Ford is a sponsor, but the tailgate opened horizontally (hinges on the side) and all the Escape pictures I see show that the back opens vertically (hinges on top). I think, from the description, that this is probably a Ford EcoSport, built exclusively for the South American market. It's a little smaller than an Escape, but does have a side-hinged rear door. - Cucumber Mike (talk) 07:56, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that looks like it. Thanks! RudolfRed (talk) 19:27, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Track been bugging me for a while[edit]

What is the title of the track, I think by Eminem, where the story told in rhyme is about a fan who writes to the artist several times, gets no reply and threatens to kill himself and his girlfriend? When the artist eventually does read it, he remembers just recently that a guy drove his car off a cliff with his (pregnant?) girlfriend in the trunk. Resolved
Ah, that explains why I couldn't find it in the discography. The track is way older than I thought. Astronaut (talk) 15:26, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube links[edit]

Could someone remind me Youtube videos, which show some relaxing or nude theme and then suddenly end with a horriblly shock image and scream?--178.181.132.121 (talk) 15:55, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just use the YouTube search box.--Shantavira|feed me 09:55, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gangsta Nancy Sinatra[edit]

Who first described Lana Del Rey as a "Gangsta Nancy Sinatra?" 205.156.136.229 (talk) 16:10, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Our article, and all the sources I have seen after a quick look, attribute it to Del Rey herself ("self-styled"). —Akrabbimtalk 18:46, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Does anyone know where and when she called herself that? 205.156.136.229 (talk) 21:44, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
