Gordon Sumner[edit]

Can anyone put my mind at rest?

I have a memory of Gordon Sumner in the 80's being on TV in the uk as a panellist (maybe guest) but cannot remember which show, I think it was new faces or around that time? Is this a figment of my imagination?

Any help one way or the other will be appreciated :-)

Are you referring to Sting? Afaik, he has always been known by his nickname since he first came to public prominence, and has never appeared anywhere as "Gordon Sumner", except maybe when he got his CBE from the Queen. But whether Sting (as such) ever appeared on a TV panel, I couldn't possibly say. Unidentified opera[edit]

Can anyone identify http://collison.ie/unknown-opera.mp3? It's driving me crazy. I vaguely think that it may be from Verdi, but after listening to the top 20 Verdi tracks in iTunes, it doesn't seem to be. It's from the "Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves" ("Va, pensiero") from Verdi's Nabucco. The famous main tune of the chorus doesn't seem to appear, only the middle section, and that may have put you off the track. -- Jack of Oz ^{[your turn]} 19:40, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
