Did animal cruelty really have a theme song?[edit]

This song has got to have the weirdest title ever. Even though animal cruelty is frowned upon now, it's almost like it was a pastime over 80 years ago. (Was it? How was animal cruelty looked upon back in the Depression Era?)

Considering "beating" is an euphemism, as is "dog", I'm guessing that animal cruelty may not be the only meaning. They had sex back in those days too, and would hint at them in their songs. The idea that the past was savage and sexually oppressed is a myth most moderns tell themselves to overlook any real progress made (and to be made). To add to what Ian.thomson says, they had very explicit songs "back then", but they just didn't play them on the radio. Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Bull Moose Jackson, even Little Richard hadstuff that would make a sailor blush, even today. Joke ?[edit]

What is the meaning of this strange joke :-

A woman goes to her gynecologist for a routine exam. During the exam, the doctor remarks, “My, you have a big vagina…My, you have a big vagina.”

The woman becomes upset at this and tells the doctor that he didn’t need to say it twice. But the confused doctor replies that he only said it once.

Intrigued by what just happened, the woman goes home and stands over a mirror with her skirt pulled up. As she is checking herself out, her husband comes in and asks what she is doing.

“Just learning a new dance,” she replies.

“Well, you better be careful,” her husband says. “There’s a big hole in the floor.”

The vagina is so big that what the doctor says echoes round it. Then, her husband thinks he's looking at a hole in the floor when he is actually looking at a mirror with her vagina reflected in it. The meaning is, she's got a big vagina. (some people have a really strange sense of humour!)
