Gibson or Jibson?[edit]

My friend has a habit of pronouncing the name of Actor/Director Mel Gibson Mel Jibson. She says that her Australian friends laugh if she says Gibson. Which is correct, a hard or a soft G? Crisco 1492 06:49, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool site... as for the Gibson vs. Jibson thing, she's not the only Indonesian I've heard pronounce it incorrectly... sad how simple names can be butchered... I've spelled my own name for a waitress and she then asked: Apakah ada T di belangkan? (Is there a T at the end?) I've had my name changed by a clerk at the train station who thought that I left out a T... bites... sorry, just a personal pet peeve.Crisco 1492 15:48, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
