December 25[edit]

A question from Talk:Teen drama[edit]

Ok' I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm not sure where it would go. I'm trying to remember the name of a show from the early / mid 90's. I want to say that it was a teen soap opera.

All I can remember about it is that the opening theme had a sunset and the show had a crazy storyline that included at one point, a couple of teens realizing that their room was bugged, finding the bug, and smashing it with a bat. The man listening on the other end ripped off the earphones because of the loud sound of the bat hitting the bug. The show had a plot lined that seemed a little ridiculous the events that happened would happen to those people.

I know that this description is vague but its all I've got. Oh yeah, It may have been a mini-series. I'm not expecting to get the name of the show from this description but I am hoping to get a website that might list a lot of shows from that time that might match the description. If anyone knows about any I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Moved from article talk page; WP:NOT#FORUM. Help is much more likely here, anyway. Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 13:32, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

trying to remember the name of a film[edit]

I just wanted to cite it in an essay about the Western fear of alien and "exotic" legal systems overseas. I believe the main thrust of the story goes that two sisters, or at least two female friends, (and some additional friends), are caught trafficking drugs and then both get really long jail terms. The setting could have either been in Thailand or Malaysia. It's possible I am conflating two films here. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 15:53, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly Brokedown Palace? although there are quite a few movies and docudrama's on this very topic (usually in relation to thailand). 62.136.151.160 (talk) 15:59, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not the film you are thinking of, but Midnight Express (film) presents a fearsome vision of the justice system in Turkey. SaundersW (talk) 21:25, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like Dadah Is Death. Its about 2 Australians caught trafficking dope in Malaysia. But here, they are guys, and they were executed instead of long jail term. kawaputratorque 03:07, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know Dadah Is Death is a true story. But are Brokedown Palace, Return to Paradise (1998 film), and Midnight Express true stories?72.229.136.18 (talk) 23:34, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are thinking of Brokedown Palace (Marcelo88)

Looking for a tv series[edit]

VH1 viewed an episode of "40 Greatest Pranks", which contained the top 40 television/celebrity pranks. In the top 20 there was one particular British prank involved a bunch of men and a male to female transgender person, which the men didn't know they were dating a transgender until the very end. Could someone possibly find the name of this prank for me? Thanks, Mønobi 22:04, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was it perhaps an excerpt from the Dirty Sanchez Movie in which the lads are treated to a lap dance by what they think are Thai women and are asked to guess which ones are men? 62.136.151.160 (talk) 22:10, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's an entire series of its self. Mønobi 22:12, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh then I guess you mean There's Something About Miriam. 62.136.151.160 (talk) 23:03, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's the one, thanks! Mønobi 01:43, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
