Do we have anything on Signup?[edit]

This is related to the question “Login/signup - terms” of 2014. As KnightMove wrote then, we have an article on Login, but there seems to be still no article on Signup (other than the unrelated deleted article) or sign up, and the disambiguation page Register only lists different meanings. One might think this would be covered in such articles as User profile or User account but I don't see it in the former, and the latter just redirects to User (computing), which has a section User account, but that doesn't mention “signup”, either. ◅ Sebastian Helm 🗨 10:01, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In the biz we sometimes call that process enrollment, which is a dab page that also says nothing about that use of the term. 2601:644:8501:AAF0:0:0:0:6375 (talk) 18:08, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Long before Al Gore invented the Internet, one could sign up for tap dancing lessons, or a subscription to an encyclopaedia, or medical insurance, or a chess tournament, or membership of an organization – basically entering into a contract for some kind of service, which required supplying varying snippets of information such as one's name and contact details. Signing up for an event or an account or whatever using the Internet is not essentially different. The details depend very much on the nature of the service, which may explain a scarcity of reliable sources that give an in-depth treatment of the topic, required for being the subject of a Wikipedia article.  --Lambiam 23:00, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to meet the person who sees an option to "sign up" for something, gets completely confused by the concept, and decides to go to Wikipedia to read the "Sign Up" article to see what it means. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 19:16, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, a software designer creating a class for a flexible SignUp facility might want to consult an encyclopedic fount of knowledge to see if they perhaps overlooked a potentially desirable feature.  --Lambiam 23:02, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
