Username/signature confusion[edit]

Hello, I wanted to mention that I find your username configuration confusing. I'm not sure how much of it you can control, if it is partly a result of having changed your username. But makes it hard to follow who people are responding to or mentioning, and requires a bit of clicking about to unpack.

Please forgive me if this is forward or rude. It is small and I am not aware of any policy that it runs afoul of. I only mention it to provide a bit of feedback, in case you hadn't considered how it is received (by at least one fellow editor).

Thank you and be well,

Carleas (talk) 16:31, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you talking about "Tryin to make a change :/" or my current one? wound theology 17:13, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Carleas: pinging. wound theology 08:27, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The combination of "Tryin to make a change :/" covering "Mychemicalromanceisrealemo", which redirects to "Wound Theology". It's always slightly complicating when a display name doesn't match the username (harder to scan conversation and match comments to mentions, can't ping with @Trying to make a change :/), and slightly more so in your case because the username redirects here.
Again, I know I'm being persnickety, and I'm sure there are aspects of your choices of which I'm ignorant. What prompted my comment here was mentioning you on Talk:Western tulku as Wound Theology and then second guessing that choice. I thought it best to share my confusion.
Carleas (talk) 14:57, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Carleas: Originally my signature was a very obnoxious MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE IS REAL EMO! (talk or whatever). After I got a couple complaints, I changed it to "Tryin to make a change :-/" in reference to this glorious meme about text signatures. Recently (like, about a week ago) I changed my username to User:Wound theology to solve the problem of having no good way to make an aesthetically-please signature (and because the username I chose as a teenager is no longer that funny to me.) Hence the three signatures; the Western tulku convo just happens to span the period between all three. wound theology 15:17, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

March 2024[edit]

A page you created has been nominated for deletion as an attack page, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing. asilvering (talk) 06:18, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Oregon Institute for Creative Research has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable and unaccredited school

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Liz Read! Thanks[edit]

For providing another example of your following me around on talk pages to heckle me. Skyerise (talk) 11:59, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Skyerise: I have many pages on my watchlist -- including the talk page for Worship of heavenly bodies -- so of course I would see the overflow of the drama between you and DefaultFree (talk · contribs). With that being said, you can keep casting these aspersions -- you make them often to many editors you have disagreements with, and very rarely (if ever) does anything ever result. Even if I was following you around, while it would be discourteous, so long as I'm engaging in productive discussion, it doesn't matter (and disagreeing with me doesn't mean I'm being unproductive, by the way.) wound theology 12:29, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Really? For example, how long have you had Calabi–Yau manifold on your watchlist? Was it before or after you decided to stalk me? Skyerise (talk) 12:57, 10 April 2024 (UTC)r[reply]
What the fuck are you talking about? I didn't interact with you on that page at all. wound theology 12:58, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, you didn't interact with me there. But you most certainly found it while stalking my contributions: it's an obscure topic. Skyerise (talk) 13:13, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Skyerise:: It is not even remotely an obscure topic, it is topic of incredible relevance to theoretical physics and it has been for half a century; although it is probably far less relevant than it was during the 90s. As you can see at User:Wound theology/Interesting pages, which predates our first interaction, I have an interest in quite a lot of subjects, including mathematics -- here I have listed things like continuous automata, Karnaugh maps, game semantics, multidimensional sampling, and quantum logic. Among many other things because I have wide-ranging interests, as I imagine most Wikipedia editors do. Furthermore, all I did was merge a page, it wasn't like I was reverting your edits.
If you would like, give me your Discord or a similar contact, and I'll stream a virtual whiteboard and show you I have more than a cursory grasp of modern physics. One of the very first things I did on Wikipedia was upload a self-made illustration of a p-brane I had made in Blender, when I was ~13. wound theology 13:30, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I am perfectly willing to admit I was wrong about that. Seems we have a range of similar interests which just happens to overlap. But please stop heckling me on article talk pages; I am happy to respond to discussions about content, but you are not the appointed WikiPolice. If you think some behavior is "urgent, chronic, or intractable", as required for calling for admin attention - then just take it to WP:ANI; if you don't believe it rises to that level, I don't want to hear about it from you on an article talk page. Skyerise (talk) 14:12, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This has been our first interaction in weeks -- save a single comment I left which agreed with you yesterday. I will continue to participate in discussions on talk pages for articles I have an interest in, whether I agree with your disagree with you. wound theology 14:25, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As you have been told at ANI, volunteering your opinion when the issue is with another editor than yourself is not proper. You got told to let other editors do their own reporting, quite clearly. If DefaultFree or some other editor has a problem with me - that does not make it your problem. And I will report further such behavior where you butt in even though you are not directly involved. Again, you are not an admin nor annointed WikiPolice and my disputes with other editors are none of your business. Butt out or get reported the next time you do it. Skyerise (talk) 14:38, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will continue to participate in discussions on talk pages for articles I have an interest in, whether I agree with your disagree with you. You are free to do as you please. wound theology 14:39, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If it is to attack my behavior in a dispute with another editor that does not involve you, it fits the bill of a "chronic" problem, and you have just provided the evidence that it is also "intractable". Thanks. Skyerise (talk) 14:43, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately I'm fining you 140 jimbos for resisting WikiArrest. Your court date is in November. wound theology 14:46, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'm an indigenous WikiGnome and you have to go through the tribal court system. Skyerise (talk) 15:02, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Followup: you would do well to consider this response in the ANI thread Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents § User:DefaultFree engaging in stalking behavior, where another user engaging in similar talk page behavior is told is it uncool. Skyerise (talk) 11:35, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
