Speedy deletion

From the article I created (Candace Nelson) you tagged as an A7 Speedy deletion, the article says

Seems notable to me. Tommy! [message] 00:06, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Well it was declined anyways. Please be more careful in CSD taggings. Tommy! [message]

Article for deletion

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Charlotte, North Carolina) seems like a pretty notable church to me, and so far most other people think so on the article's deletion entry page. It is obviously notable, but if you do not think the article says enough then I suggest you add to it, instead of nominating it for deletion. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 14:15, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Alternate account

Before I act on your request at WP:PERM/RW, would you mind explaining this account? Are you abandoning User:AirplanePro or is this account set up for a particular activity? And regarding your request, do you have "[another] alt account", or were you referring to AirplanePro? Thanks —DoRD (talk) 14:49, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Read my old talkpage for an explanation. Airplaneman asked the same thing just yesterday. WikiCopterRadioChecklistFormerly AirplanePro 16:31, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
I saw that, but as it didn't tell me what I needed to know, I asked the questions here. —DoRD (talk) 16:41, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Abandoning, at least till I find a solution. WikiCopterRadioChecklistFormerly AirplanePro 17:02, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
If I understand the conversation on the other talk page correctly, you should probably ask for assistance at WP:VPT before abandoning the other account. It might be something as simple as having an admin blank or delete the script. —DoRD (talk) 17:19, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. —DoRD (talk) 17:21, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

However, if you manage to resolve the problems with your original account and go back to using it, please have the permission removed from this alternate. Thanks —DoRD (talk) 17:24, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Why would that be necessary?  ono  22:33, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you.  ʄlame  22:19, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Wow, Igloo is way fast. I barely loaded the page.
I was actually moving the discussion to the Decision subpage of the nominations, not totally removing it. Now I can see why vandalism is always reverted before I get to it. The iglooers always get there first. WikiCopterRadioChecklistFormerly AirplanePro 22:24, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, it looked suspicious. I thought "WikiCopter: who is that? I think I know them. Must be some vandal I whacked." Instead of using the edit summary "commenting", please use something more descriptive like "Accepted - moving to decisions page". I saw you installed NICE, btw.  ono  22:29, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. The 'commenting' edit summary is I default I'm sick of that I installed with a user script that I forgot the name of, so I can't un-install them. I've got way to many scripts. WikiCopterRadioChecklistFormerly AirplanePro 22:34, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

DUDE

There are tons of neighborhood articles on this page that are one sentence long and have zero outside sourcing. This one has an independent source, lots of statistics, and has an entire paragraph of writing.

I've spent many hours this week working on the Lexington neighborhoods project.

So this page [Ashville, Louisville] meets Wiki standard, but mine don't??? You are truly an a$$hole

Censusdata (talk) 02:24, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Just argue for it on the deletion discussion. I did. My article Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Charlotte, North Carolina) was requested for deletion by wikicopter, but the decision was to keep it. No need to call people foul names on wikipedia. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 01:12, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Be CIVIL. Besides, I make mistakes. However, I am not an 'a$$hole', whatever that is. WikiCopterRadioChecklistFormerly AirplanePro 15:40, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

WikiCopter--please tell me you're kidding. You want ME to find consensus on the rarely visited talk page of an article on a school that contains text like this, "Venice High faces many teen issues related to families struggling with drug and alcohol abuse"? Completely unsourced, ridiculously vague, and insulting to boot? Are you not interested at all in sources for, get ready for it,

"In past years, students have attended colleges such as University of Florida, University of Central Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida State University, New College of Florida, University of South Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Miami, University of Tampa, Saint Leo University, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, and Santa Fe College. Out-of-state colleges of prestige have included Brigham Young University, Georgetown University, Vanderbilt University, Duke University, Macalester College, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Virginia, New York University, Sarah Lawrence College, Georgia State University, University of Alabama, Auburn University, Sterling College, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and The United States Naval Academy at Annapolis."

That is not only unverified, it is also namedropping and useless to boot--violating both our injunction to verify information and to present neutral information. With all due respect, with your two combined accounts you have 1,400 edits, and the person who confirmed your revert of my edit has less than 1,800. I hope that the two of you will realize how important WP:V and W:NPV are, and that you will revert this edit. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 02:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2010-09-08/WP:PC

I'm sorry, unfortunately this is one task anyone here at the MedCab can help you with. The Pending Changes dispute global on the English Wikipedia. Everyone has an opinion on it. I also voted in the straw poll, so I am not neutral either and therefore cannot mediate. This issue is too big for one editor to mediate. This is something that only Arbitration Committee can mediate, but even they may have opinions on this issue. Apologies --Alpha Quadrant (talk) 18:17, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

A-Class reviews

Please do not nominate articles that you are not the primary contributor to and/or without the permission of the primary contributor. I recommend that you withdraw your nomination of Iowa class battleship immediately and apologize to Tom. That article is his baby and he has been working on it for over five years. -MBK004 05:39, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

The same for South Dakota class battleship (1939). Also, we do not want one editor to have more than one open ACR at a time (which you already have with Arado Ar E.381. While we appreciate your zeal and desire to improve articles, it is coming off too forceful and unprofessional. -MBK004 05:42, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
If it's because of this, than I suggest you should drop out or work on your own articles, like Arado Ar E.381 and other milhist articles you either want to or can make instead of pre-made GA's. Your situation happened with me, just I got spun into the other need points vortex. Instead of either noming GA's for A class, whether I had worked on them or not, I created tons of stubs that I raised to just over B-class standards. The contest is a good thing to raise initiative, but you should not get too competitative. Buggie111 (talk) 13:27, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
What Buggie said. While people don't own the articles they have worked on, nominating another person's article for GA/A/FAC is normally frowned upon. Thanks for understanding! Kind regards, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 15:03, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Done Sorry guys. I guess I didn't know about that policy. WikiCopterRadioChecklistFormerly AirplanePro 18:00, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

I gather you've been busy nominating articles for ACR class, articles that you've done little work for. I do understand the reason behind it, but remember that a lot of the joy you get from the articles as they move through the class system comes not from the points you receive in the contest but the feeling you get watching a masterpiece of your creation evolve. In penning his letter to Mrs. Bixby, Lincoln sited "...the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom." That same solemn pride also comes from within as an article moves toward FA-class, but it means so much more when the editor who worked on the article has been with it since the article was a stub, a small piece of information assigned no greater importance than the task of answering in plainest terms the question its audience came to ask. To watch such an article move to start, then B, GA, A and finally FA-class is to watch your hard work evolve and take on a new and greater meaning, and without that any point score and any award received would be rendered nothing more than a hollowed shell.

Policy holds that we do not own any article on site, thus editors can not claim to have a specific area which is theirs and theirs alone, but to compensate for that editors are permitted to maintain articles here provided they do so within the limits set forth by the ownership policy. In this respect then many editors who have earned tenure of some sort are afforded a unique honor: the community will allow these men and women to take the lead role in ensuring that the article(s) they have spent so much time and energy working on. As a result, this has become an unwritten rule, though the reflections of the rule can be seen if you know where to look. Every article of higher ranking has an article history template which lists the events that lead the article to be where it is now, each nomination had to have a nominator. Tools used during the FA and A-class reviews display the number of edits and the editor who made them so that the community can see whose hard work is being honored. Finally, many articles ranking at or above GA-class sport a {{maintained}} template that lists at least one person who is actively involved with the article (usually the person responsible for its current rank, or in the case of demoted articles, the highest rank the article had), and as such responsibility for the work that must been done to ensure that the article moves up in the assessment chart - or in the case of the FA-class articles, retains its FA star - is usually understood to rest with him or her.

Under the circumstances I see this as a no harm, no foul incident, and as MBK or Ed would tell you I am willing to forgive and forget. I admire the bold spirit, we just need to get you pointed in the right direction so you can fire it at will ;) TomStar81 (Talk) 23:06, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Assessment with Wikiproject: U.S. public policy

Thank you for assessing with the PPI, assessing with this project will probably be different than assessing with other projects in Wikipedia. It's different because the many of the articles are stub, start, or C class, and we are not working to assess long lists of articles, but will have multiple reviewers assessing the same set of articles. We are looking for Wikipedians who want to take a more in depth look at assessment and help define what is article quality. Please go to the WP:USPP Assessment page to find more details and your assessment page with the first group of articles for you to evaluate. Thanks and happy editing, ARoth (Public Policy Initiative) (talk) 21:41, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

We are half-way through our final round, entering the home straight. New Orleans TonyTheTiger (submissions) leads at the time of writing with 1180 points, immediately followed by Hungary Sasata (submissions) with 1175 points. Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) closely follows in third place with 1100 points. For those who are interested, data about the finalists has been compiled at Wikipedia:WikiCup/History/2010/finalists, while a list of content submitted by all WikiCup contestants prior to this round has been compiled at Wikipedia:WikiCup/History/2010/Submissions. As ever, anything contestants worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.

Despite controversy, the WikiCup remains open. Signups for next year's competition are more than welcome, and suggestions for how next year's competition will work are appreciated at Wikipedia talk:WikiCup/Scoring. More general comments and discussions should be directed at the WikiCup talk page. One month remains in the 2010 WikiCup, after which we will know our champion. Good luck everyone! PPI Assessment Follow-up

Hi WikiCopter, thank you for assessing articles in the Wikiproject: United States Public Policy. This project is probably different than other assessment drives you have worked on, it involves more assessment of lower ranked articles, it has input and staff from the foundation, and specific goals to improve and measure content of public policy articles. It also involves collaboration from some university classes, we are using an experimental assessment rubric, and most articles will be assessed by multiple reviewers to get a range of scores for each article. I have learned a lot from many of the assessors comments and am really excited about the insight from this group of Wikipedians. I hope you are finding some benefits to involvement in this project. 1) your assessments are part of research that is attempting to increase credibility of Wikipedia in academic circles, 2) there is a great group of assessors involved in discussion of what is article quality and how to measure it, 3) WP:USPP is also piloting the Article Feedback tool, so if interested, those involved in assessment on the project will be asked to help improve and rate this tool as well, and 4) subject matter experts are assessing articles alongside Wikipedians and comparisons of results will provide some insight as to the rigor of Wikipedia quality rating.

To give you an update on assessment, about half of the assessments are complete for the first part of this first assessment. I had some trouble finding public policy experts to join us in assessing, but finally managed to recruit a group last week, hopefully some of them will join the discussion on the assessment talk page. Next week, I should have some preliminary results to share with you, I will also post the second assessment request very soon. The discussion on the talk page is very exciting, and I hope if you are interested, you will provide input on the Article Feedback Tool which is being piloted on articles in WP:USPP. Please let me know if there is anything I and the project team can do to make working on this project a more positive experience. Thanks again, ARoth (Public Policy Initiative) (talk) 23:44, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Weird stray text

Your reversion of vandalism introduced some stray text. Not quite sure how that happened, and I removed it. DMacks (talk) 17:34, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

WP:USPP thanks you! And hopes you come back!

WikiCopter, thanks for contributing to article assessment in WP:USPP. Your continued involvement would be very appreciated. There is a second assessment request posted. There will be weekly updates about the research for this project posted here, look for the first one tomorrow. The next assessment request will come in early November. There is a lot of expertise and discussion about article quality happening in the project, so if you have any thoughts on the metric, or any ideas keeping project research exciting please let me know. Assessment Update

Hi WikiCopter/Archives/2010 -- Amy Roth is now out on maternity leave (she had a healthy baby girl this weekend!) so I'll be filling in for a couple of months. (I'm LiAnna Davis, the Public Policy Initiative's communications associate.) I'd like to get the assessments done this week if possible -- I've made some edits to give you direct links to the versions we'd like you to assess. Your page is here. Please let me know if you can't finish it by this weekend! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again for all your help! --Ldavis (Public Policy) (talk) 23:04, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

AIV report

Hi. Concerning the report you made for 82.24.240.148 (talk · contribs), it might be worth pointing out that the IP seems to be changing numbers that were previously put there by the same IP. Nobody ever seems to have made any attempt to give the editor any feedback other than vandalism templates. The IP has been blocked by another admin and I won't alter that, but I don't think this is a very useful approach. Regards, Looie496 (talk) 22:08, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I've finished the copyedit as requested though some of the tense choices were confusing, it is sometimes referred to in the past as if it were actually built: "The first version, the Arado Ar E.381/I, had a fuselage with a circular cross-section and a small round window in the nose for pilot vision" though other parts are written as if it wasn't built, just considered: "It was intended to be launched from a carrier aircraft". I've added two tags you have to fix up. Also, there is a GA icon though the talk page says it is start and B class, clarification is needed. Overall, it wasn't bad. Keep up the good work! Derild4921 22:22, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

69.117.25.131

Is there a reason that you issued a level three warning to the IP 69.117.25.131, who did not have any other warnings for the month, and indeed no other edits this year? I am just wondering, because it seems odd. Sven Manguard Talk 00:15, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

That was obvious vandalism, and other users usually issue level3 warnings for blatant vandalism. Besides, it's easy to change IPs, if only to throw me off. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 23:41, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Sub portal

First, this is unacceptable. The correct position is at see also WP:SEEALSO. Also, you might want to consider not linking until you actually have content, otherwise it is likely that other editors will just remove them en mass. -MBK004 07:12, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

This is suggested in portal instructions. However, you are probably right, a bunch of redlinks never looks good. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 17:52, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
I think those instructions are meant for the idealistic case where a portal starts as a collaboration. In reality, most portals seem to be largely the work of a single editor, so it's probably better to fill in all the red links on the portal main page and create some basic rotating content before you announce the portal. Otherwise people might be disappointed. --Morn (talk) 11:52, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
This needs to stop. I've already told you where this belongs, and it is already there in that article. Stop editing in violation of this clause at WP:SEEALSO: {{Portal}} and {{Wikipedia-Books}} links are usually placed in this section.. -MBK004 06:57, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

We've been through this before

I see that you are working on Iowa class battleship. You realize we had this conversation above in September? Although Tom does not "own" the article, I would like to think that there would be some common courtesy among OMT members with regards to Tom's work. Did you ask to collaborate? I certainly do not want to see you nom the article at ACR for FAC without his blessing (the credit for the article belongs to him due to the five years of dedication to it). -MBK004 06:16, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Whoa, whoa, whoa. As you say, we've had this conversation before, and I assume that Copter isn't planning on nominating it without at the least offering Tom a conom. However, when was the last time Tom actually worked on the article? The FAR work was just removing unreliably sourced or unsourced content. In the GA review, Brad did most of the clean up. The "Design" section? Written in its entirety by me. Tom was the original author in 2005, but let's be honest and admit that the article is not going to get back to FA or even A without someone else giving it major help and TLC. Stop attacking Copter and stop owning the article; allow a willing volunteer to come in and help us. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 07:16, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
As I have recently borrowed multiple books on the subject of the Iowas, I have decided to do some work, seeing that it has been demoted from FA to GA. In the archive of the latest FAR, I noticed that Tom wanted some less dependence on the internet. Therefore, I've been overhauling the web refs. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 20:12, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Copter, I just went out of my way to defend your work on the article, and now you go and nom it for A-class without even asking Tom to conom with you? While MBK was too harsh above, his underlying motivation was spot on. You could have at least been courteous enough to offer Tom a chance to conom. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 04:29, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Copter, I don't want it to seem like we are ganging up on you and telling you that you're on our turf. Not at all, we welcome your contributions a great deal. However, it is coming off that you are finding articles that have been worked on for a great deal of time, and slapping your name on them for some credit in a contest. We would love your help in improving the article, but it has to be a collaboration, not a one-man show. Since there are many editors with a vested interest in the Iowa article, and consensus should have been made before nominating the article for anything. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 17:12, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 October newsletter

The 2010 WikiCup is over! It has been a long journey, but what has been achieved is impressive: combined, participants have produced over seventy featured articles, over five hundred good articles, over fifty featured lists, over one thousand one hundred "did you know" entries, in addition to various other pieces of recognised content. A full list (which has yet to be updated to reflect the scores in the final round) can be found here. Perhaps more importantly, we have our winner! The 2010 WikiCup champion is Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), with an unbelievable 4220 points in the final round. Second place goes to New Orleans TonyTheTiger (submissions), with 2260, and third to New South Wales Casliber (submissions), with 560. Congratulations to our other four finalists – White Shadows (submissions), William S. Saturn (submissions), Connecticut Staxringold (submissions) and Colombia ThinkBlue (submissions). Also, congratulations to Hungary Sasata (submissions), who withdrew from the competition with an impressive 2685 points earlier in this round.

Prizes will also be going to those who claimed the most points for different types of content in a single round. It was decided that the prizes would be awarded for those with the highest in a round, rather than overall, so that the finalists did not have an unfair advantage. Winning the featured article prize is New South Wales Casliber (submissions), for five featured articles in round 4. Winning the good article prize is Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), for eighty-one good articles in round 5. Winning the featured list prize is Connecticut Staxringold (submissions), for six featured lists in round 1. Winning the picture and sound award is Jujutacular (submissions), for four featured pictures in round 3. Winning the topic award is Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), for forty-seven articles in various good topics in round 5. Winning the "did you know" award is New Orleans TonyTheTiger (submissions), for over one hundred did you knows is round 5. Finally, winning the in the news award is Republic of Ireland Candlewicke (submissions), for nineteen articles in the news in round three.

The WikiCup has faced criticism in the last month – hopefully, we will take something positive from it and create a better contest for next year. Like Wikipedia itself, the Cup is a work in progress, and ideas for how it should work are more than welcome on the WikiCup talk page and on the scoring talk page. Also, people are more than welcome to sign up for next year's competition on the signup page. Well done and thank you to everyone involved – the Cup has been a pleasure to run, and we, as judges, have been proud to be a part of it. We hope that next year, however the Cup is working, and whoever is running it, it will be back, stronger and more popular than ever. Until then, goodbye and happy editing! Invitation to the December 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive

 ock  00:02, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Are you nuts?

Re this? Did you even notice that that is Parsec's userspace transcluded to OMT. He is working on them in his userspace even though his name does not appear there. Why did you think that the German ships (which have been all done by Parsec so far) were available? -MBK004 02:25, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Seriously, Parsec wasn't listed as working, and a helping hand with some of the books I currently have is needed with the refs. I could list some work needed. Scharnhorst's refs need to be overhauled, as does Gneisenau's and Tirpitz's. Bismarck's are probably fine, that was a mistake I could have seen within less than fifteen minutes. Anyhow, why is Parsec's userspace transcluded to OMT? Can't somebody else work on them? What happened to WP:OWN? WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 02:37, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I've asked Parsec to respond to you on those points, but I am definitely not impressed. First the Iowa class and now this... -MBK004 02:44, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm impressed with your coordinator spot-on checking the newbies for mistakes. But seriously, these guidelines need to be set down somewhere, although you are/were right, and delivered to newbies when they join. Anyhow, the Iowas were a Review, this is a Collaboration, organized as OMT. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 02:49, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
And, if you'll look, these three articles have a heavy reliance on unreliable and sometimes POV websites. Parsec isn't going around to them yet, so I am currently taking care of them. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 02:52, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
My feelings are this: there are literally hundreds of other BB articles in much worse shape than the 4 German WWII ships. Also, I would have appreciated the courtesy of leaving those articles for me to finish; I've been working on the German ships for 3 and a half years now, well before OMT was even a twinkle in Tom's eye. Can you understand wanting to finish a project that long in the making? The general understanding at OMT is that certain editors have specialzations and their own specific projects, and that it is generally poor manners to take articles others intend to do. There are still plenty of unclaimed territory (including most of the aforementioned low-quality articles). Parsecboy (talk) 03:58, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Got it, self-reverted. I guess I'm going to claim the early Brit ships. Relax, MBK. Sooner or later I'm going to make all the mistakes there are to make, and then I won't be able to make any more. (inspired by Anne of Green Gables) WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 04:01, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I didn't even remember was Parsec's sandbox until now. Thanks for understanding, WC; I hope you can understand MBK's frustration. However, I don't think it's possible "make all the mistakes there are to make." :P Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 05:55, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Good to know it's not just me. I guess I can understand (I have a younger brother, and if you do/had, I think you would be able to relate). WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 03:56, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Arado E.381 Milhist ACR closed as unsuccessful

I've closed the review as no consensus to promote the article at this time. I hope you aren't too discouraged by this result, especially as it's the article's second ACR, because there are many positive comments as well as a number of others on the review page that should be helpful to you in developing the article further. You have produced an interesting article on an obscure aircraft (I certainly learned quite a bit reading it!) and should be proud of your achievement so far. Thank you for your continued dedication to article improvement and the Military history WikiProject. All the best, EyeSerenetalk 10:11, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

No problems, I'm guessing next time, after I get some more sourced information and citations out on that article, it'll pass (3 tries, patience and perseverance is neccesary!). WikiCopter (radiosortiesimageslostdefenseattack) 00:39, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey, WikiCopter, I recently changed Template:Executed from the Unicode character to an image. GOCE Drive – Final push

Greetings GOCE Backlog elimination drive participant, We are now coming up to the last few days of the drive, the last for 2010. Currently, it looks like we will achieve our target for reducing the backlog by 10%, however, we still have huge numbers for 2009. We have 55 participants in this drive. If everyone just clears 2 articles each, we will reduce the backlog by a further 110 articles. If everyone can just do 3 articles, we will hit 165. If you have yet to work on any articles and have rollover words, remember that you do need to copyedit at least a couple of articles in this drive for your previous rollover to be valid for the next drive. There are many very small articles that will take less than 5-10 minutes to copyedit. Use CatScan to find them. Let's all concentrate our firepower on the first three months of 2009 as we approach the end of this final drive for the year. Thank you once again for participating, and see you at the finish line! – SMasters (talk) 04:02, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

GOCE elections

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors

Elections are currently underway for our inaugural Guild coordinators. The voting period will run for 14 days: 00:01 UTC, Friday 1 December – 23:59 UTC, Tuesday 14 December. All GOCE members in good standing, as well as past participants of any of the Guild's Backlog elimination drives, are eligible to vote. There are six candidates vying for four positions. The candidate with the highest number of votes will become the Lead Coordinator, therefore, your vote really matters! Cast your vote today.

The December 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive has begun!

Get going.

The December 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive has begun. Please get started, as the drive aims to wikify over 2,000 articles this month. We're going to need all the firepower we can get, so please remind your friends to join up as well. In case you didn't know, wikification is fairly simple: just add wiki markup, links, and similar formatting. Thanks for joining; we're looking forward to an exciting time this month!

Hello Wikicopter! While stumbling around the web I hit this link: http://www.luft46.com/arado/are381.html

Although it may not be an WP:RS, it at least means that there are other sources out there with info. I hope you use this to your advantage. Bye! Buggie111 (talk) 14:43, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

I used it before, it was removed as a non-RS. Thanks anyway. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagessimplicitylostdefenseattack) 00:59, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

OMT in the Signpost

"WikiProject Report" would like to focus on Operation Majestic Titan for a Signpost article to be published this month. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Also, if you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 02:49, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Explanation,

I really, really hope you have a good explanation for this. Good-hand-bad-hand accounts are considered a policy violation in regards to WP:SOCK.— dαlus+ Contribs 07:56, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Okay. I'm guessing at what this is. You're saying that FPS was a sock of mine/AirplanePro's. I never saw Forgotpasswordsht before in my life. The only two accounts I have used were AirplanePro and WikiCopter. WikiCopter should be considered an exception to the rules, since I cannot edit from AirplanePro for technical reasons. I have read SOCK twice through already. Since I have edited before on library computers, the checkuser involved might have mistaken the library IP for a home computer or laptop. Really, there is another explanation for this. Also, do you know where the thread is now? I am going to post this reply there. Sorry about not being on IRC last night when you came back. Something, most likely rain related, caused my internet to be down the rest of the night.Sumsum2010·T·C 23:02, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
