You may want to bring the issue up on the Military history WikiProject discussion page before adding this to any more articles, since previous discussions concluded that whether a victory was "decisive" needed to be treated in the context of the other data in the article, and was therefore unsuitable for a purely yes/no listing in a category. Austria-Hungary infobox[edit]

Thanks for implementing the Former Country infobox on this entry. This is a tricky one to do and I'd been putting it off for a while. For the full syntax for this infobox, see Template talk:Infobox Former Country#Usage, and a provisional (as yet, incomplete) set of instructions at Template:Infobox Former Country/Instructions. I see that you took the syntax code here from the infobox I made for the CSA, where I did not include all fields, that is why religion and languages could not be shown. Some variables (eg. time zone) are not covered by this infobox. The variable largest_city is currently not supported by the infobox (i put it in the CSA one by mistake), but it might be used later on.

I have made a number of modifications to the Austria-Hungary infobox as you requested. Just a few comments (listing these is partly for my own benefit since I'm still writing the instructions for this template):

  • The events that took place after the disestablishment of Austria-Hungary have been temporarily disabled. Generally, the disestablished event is always the final event, with the events taking place afterwards discussed either in the infobox of the next state(s) or in the text of this article. But they might have a use in the future so I have just disabled them instead of deleting them.
  • Not all 7 flags have appeared at the top because the limit is currently set to 5 (if the number is too high, it doesn't look very good), but this is a part of the template that we are still working on. All states will appear later after the coming update. As a general note, it is not intended to list every state involved in the infobox - just the main/offical successors. Therefore, it might be reasonable to not list Italy or Romania here at all, since they already existed and only gained territory from Austria-Hungary. The infobox can never completely describe the changes in territory as well as the article text can, the infobox is more concerned with the broad strokes that the average reader is interested in.
  • The Emperor title has been shortened. I know that the emperor had multiple titles but it is standard to just state the highest title to avoid clutter.

If you have any questions about the infobox, just ask. - 52 Pickup 14:19, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
