Another Essay

Could you take a look at the page Sociobiological analysis of rape? It seems to be another essay by the same person who did the Lesbian mothers page. What do you think? Michael L. Kaufman 08:05, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

AOL Broadcast Fan

I've noticed that you've tried to clean up WEZE. Unfortunately, this article has been reverted to a copyrighted version by a problem user, who has done these things all over the place, even after getting blocked for 72 hours for inserting copyrighed material to no end. See User:ErikNY/AOLBroadcastFan for more info. ErikNY 14:15, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

  • I was very aware of that page, but not the WEZE revert. I am almost thinking about rewriting from scratch, with hope that the user doesn't revert back to the copyvio. Wcquidditch | Talk 20:18, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for helping clear up his vandalism and warning him. He's probably a sockpuppet of the infamous Willy on Wheels. Users vandalising like this or with "on Wheels" can be blocked indefinitely without warning. If you spot any more then just bring it up on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, no need to warn him. the wub "?!" 12:45, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Response to what you wrote on my talk page

I decided to return to take care of some articles. I might leave later on, but that may depend on what happens. Georgia guy 21:11, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

That makes sense. --WCQuidditch 21:12, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

My seemingly bizarre behaviour

Sorry. I didn't mean to create a page with just a speedy tag at Tim Doyle. What happened was: User:The white dragon created a page that needed speedying (only content was tim doyle). So I tagged it. However, in the mean time an admin deleted the page. So when I pressed Save Page it created a new page with just the tag. Sorry again. --Bucephalus 15:20, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Gang-stalking

About Gang-stalking and its copyright problem: I post here the c.a.t.c.h. policy I have already copied into my discussion page:

Taken from :http://www.c-a-t-c-h.ca/

Using "CATCH" Literature

CATCH literature may be copied and distributed as is, provided that it is not modified in any way. Please do not affix a different address, phone number or email address to it unless you have been set up as an affiliated group by us. CATCH is located in Toronto, Canada.

If you wish to use portions of the text for your own uses, we would appreciate if you mentioned the CATCH website (www.c-a-t-c-h.ca) somewhere in your literature. Thanks.

Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Gang-stalking"

I made some changes in the text I can't find anywhere. Any idea about how I can get the last version (with some stylistic changes) of yjis article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fernando Santamaria Lozano (talkcontribs) 18:48, December 30, 2005 (UTC)

Uh... well, if you want to restore the article, you can revert it by going to the old revision, click "edit this page", and save with an edit summary of "revert, no copyright problem" (or something like that). The revision you want is this one (since it needs improvement to look more like an encyclopedia article, and the notice needs visibility). However, you will have to mention this policy under Gang-stalking's entry on WP:CP (see this page to just see the day it was listed, it is the nineteenth listing down). Hope it helps! --WCQuidditch 19:12, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Two problems:
1) Even if copyright isn't a difficulty, there's a licence clash: the CATCH requirement "provided that it is not modified in any way" is completely incompatible with Wikipedia's GFDL that allows unconditional editing.
2) See Gang stalking and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gang stalking. Tearlach 13:28, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Fine, no reversion, it can just be deleted and protected from recreation. They are a copyright problem in licensing and we do NOT need an article on it on Wikipedia -- there has already been another article deleted and protected afterwards. Consensus shows that we don't need an article on this on Wikipedia. --WCQuidditch 14:48, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

A little more about gang-stalking & its "banning from recreation"

O.K. I guess I can get licence to modify the article, and work on it until getting a text that could be acceptable under every standard. But it seems I can't because the very issue "gang-stalking" has being "banned from recreation" from the wikipedia. I don't quite understand this. Though I can accept it's a method of working and you don't want to discuss it. Is there any way to reconsider the "banning from re-creation"? (And no, I won't keep discussing this eternally)Fernando Santamaria Lozano 17:11, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

I would have suggested opening a deletion review, but it looks like you've been blocked. You could ask a user using email if possible, but I don't know what else to suggest. I'm sorry. --WCQuidditch 17:52, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Template deletion

Your request for a template deletion has been done...I wasn't sure what move you were referring to though, so I'll leave that up to you. --HappyCamper 20:11, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Clarification? --WCQuidditch 20:16, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
In Template:User Proud Americans, you mentioned that it was "Copied and pasted from {{Proud Americans}}, needs to be deleted for a proper move" --HappyCamper 20:18, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
The move was to move {{Proud Americans}} to {{User:Feureau/UserBox/Proud Americans}}, I've now done that. --WCQuidditch 20:21, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Please explain

Please explain in detail that your edit to PBS idents makes sense. Georgia guy 20:58, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

What I meant was that the article is about the identifications of PBS that follow PBS programs, whereas the PBS Kids Sprout portion was actually about the actual logo and not the associated ident. That is, the article is about the identifications after each PBS program, while the PBS Kids Sprout bit, while part of an ident, is not the ident itself. I think that makes sense. --WCQuidditch 21:05, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Then, rather than just removing it, can't you add info about how the ident changes, if possible?? Please try. Georgia guy 21:07, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I won't really have any good opportunity to do this. What I will do, however, is insert a section for such information and put {{sect-stub}} in it, so that at least something will go there at some point (I do not watch that channel). And for all this, I comment: "Live and learn". --WCQuidditch 21:12, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Good feedback & bad feedback

Good feedback

You are doing a good job to improve PBS idents.

Bad feedback

I have an important comment about your wording. Although common human perception often thinks of certain TV shows as being for exclusively younger children, the United States parental guidelines does not. It has:

  • TV-Y: Appropriate for all children (3-10 years)
  • TV-Y7: Appropriate for older children (7-10 years)

I suggest you reword the statements you wrote because it implies the existence of shows appropriate only for younger children. Please try your best, as usual. Georgia guy 00:44, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Made the suggested modifications. --WCQuidditch 01:14, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Template:cfdu (wrong?)

Hi. I noticed you've made a few edits to {{cfdu}}. It doesn't look quite right to me. The one link is to

[[Wikipedia:Categories for deletion#Category:{{{1}}}|the relevant entry]]

but I think it should be

[[Wikipedia:Categories for deletion#{{{1}}}|the relevant entry]]

Otherwise, if you make your umbrella entry "Underpopulated families", you have to make the section name in WP:CFD "Category:Underpopulated families". That doesn't make sense, does it? There is no Category:Underpopulated families because that's my umbrella name, not a category name. What do you think? Thanks.  :) —Wknight94 (talk) 03:33, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes, having the Category: does not make sense. I have fixed the issue. --WCQuidditch 03:38, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the pointers, im still new here and hopefully will do better, oh I did make a little statement about WSBK losing their UPN affiliation after the big merger is done seeing that WLVI will be the new boston hub for the CW network-lugnuts6

I won't respond to that, since this borders on WP:NOT a discussion forum... but the articles should reflect this if not already! --WCQuidditch 22:10, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
