I reverted your edits because the "Anaheim Ducks" thing has been mentioned numerous other times in the article already, and the extra mention was unnecessary. Just thought I'd explain myself. Your contributions are valued though, so don't stop now. :) Thanks. --Buchanan-Hermit 21:14, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Foothillsign2.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Foothillsign2.png. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC) Luna Santin

Clamper[edit]

About your changes to Clamper. If you want to start a new article about Clamper related to E Clampus Vitus, please do not replace the current content. Instead, you need to do a Move, a disamb page, and then start a new article. Your creation of Clamper (Electronics) was also incorrect. -- Gogo Dodo 04:55, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Gabe[edit]

Lois Faye "Miss Gabe" Gabriel is an African-American academic support guru from California's Bay Area, she was born in rural Texas. Her techniques in helping students succeed have astonishling success rates. For almost 35 years she has made students at Foothill High School realize their potential with ideas like 25 minuet Wednesdays (which now take place on Thursdays), green sheets, and a zero tolerance policy with computer gaming. Her goal is to help struggling kids get better grades. Gabriel struggled through adversity throughout her entire life, growing up in racist times in the southern United States and then teaching at a California high school that was almost one hundred percent white. Gabe has had many stern critics in her life, but many more students who look up to her as one of the greatest academinc support teachers ever. Faye has voiced that she plans on retiring after the 2006-2007 school year.

Techniques[edit]

Gabriel has employed many creative techniques to her practice, including green sheets, p-points, and 25 minuet Wednesdays.

Green Sheets

Gabriel started giving out green progress reports with 6 blank slots on them, one for each class of the day, during the 1993 school year. The goal of these sheets is to give students an idea of where they stand in the academic process. She adds incentive to getting them signed by alotting 25 points to a student's grade for filling them out.

P-Time

P-Time is short for "Productivity time," which is a time where students can do homework, read, or anything else school related. During this time students can achieve p-points, which are 0-5 grade points a day, 0 being an F and 5 being an A, which count for 50% of a students grade.

25 Minuet Wednesdays

25 minuet Wednesdays, which now take place on Thursdays, are an oppertunity for students to learn about test taking tips, organization, or anything else Gabriel has assigned for her students. These time periods are anywhere between 15-25 minuets, though always called 25 minuet Thursdays, give students what Gabe says is an edge to succeed.

Home Life[edit]

Ms. Gabe also activley involves herself with the church and loves all children, but has none of her own, she says this is because she loves her students too much and wouldn't want her few kids and hundreds of students to have to compete for attention, causing a conflict of intrest.

Your warnings[edit]

No sir, I very much disagree: your warning are other people's business, to the degree that it shows your track record, and one should not have to consult the history to see it. I speedy closed the AFD you started on this article because there really is no reason to delete it. Yes, we do have articles on extinct baseball teams such as the Cleveland Spiders and the St. Louis Browns. If you wish to merge the Expos article with the Washington Nationals article, that's a good idea in my opinion, but AFD is not the right venue for such a proposal. YechielMan 22:35, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let me explain myself, I believe that articles like Houston Colt .45s and Vancouver Grizzlies are in the right spot, because they still exist as another team, articles like Minnesota North Stars, are however, in the wrong place, because they are the same team in a different place. Therefore Montreal Expos bleongs in Washington Nationals. Just as St. Louis Browns, Kansas City Athletics, and Washington Bullets are. WalterWalrus3 22:45, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WalterWalrus3, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Sports would be one place to start discussing your idea and building consensus toward a guideline. I don't know that your rule is the one I would use, and I think even in the case of a guideline there should be room for "local" editorial consensus on having one, two or more articles to cover the history of a renamed/moved team. The general rule of thumb should probably be more how much material or editorial interest there is for a separate article.--Dhartung | Talk 00:11, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you merging the Expos?[edit]

Why are you so adamant about merging these articles? Outside the fact that they are technically the same franchise, there is absolutely NO relation between the Expos and the Nationals. Besides, there is more than enough information about the Expos that lumping them into the Nationals page would make the article too large. It's just like Doctor Who. There have been over ten different incarnations of the title character over the years and every single one of them have have their own separate articles because every single doctor have their own separate quirks and personalities. The same thing is true with relocated sports teams. Just because they are technically the same doesn't mean they HAVE to be put together, especially IF the completely shed their former identity in favor of a brand new one. So teams like the Hartford Whalers, Houston Oilers, Syracuse Nationals, and the Montreal Expos deserve their own articles. It makes tons more sense to keep them separate. Dknights411 00:30, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's Ok. It's always been my #1 Wiki rule to wait for a consensus before doing anything major like merging. As for the Expos debate, I left a lengthy argument on the Expos talk page as to why I feel that the Expos, or other article like it, should be kept. Dknights411 01:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can only speak for the NHL team pages. If you have any merger plans (or other plans), bring them up at WPH or WPT, to get peers views. GoodDay 16:37, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:FoothillLogo.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:FoothillLogo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:FoothillLogo.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fair use rationale for Image:BallersPhenom.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BallersPhenom.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Seraphim Whipp 12:11, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative unreferenced biographies of living people are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Under section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.
