Hello, Volcom7, and Welcome to Wikipedia!

I'm Steven, a Wikipedia editor like you, and I noticed that you made a helpful change to International Business Times. Thank you for your contributions. Wikipedia is a community of volunteers who want to build a great free encyclopedia, and we need your help. We have five simple rules, but other than that, we just need people like you to be bold and edit.

If you have questions of any kind, feel free to ask me on my Wikipedia talk page or by email.

Best regards, Steven Walling • talk 20:10, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to International Business Times, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you.. RE: I removed that talk page because a lot of it has to do with speculation that has since been resolved. But with regards to your addition to the article itself I can't say that they pass the WP:SOAP tests. The CT article you listed doesn't Jang controls it, it says simply that the founder "declined to participate in a Christian industry association," so ownership is a stretch. The USAToday article (actually syndicated from the Tennessean) says leaders and former students run it, but 'Jang controlled' is inaccurate. Looking at IBT's history it says what the wiki says -- ie it's owned by Etienne Uzac and Johnathan Davis. This is a corporation. They can't just make up whatever. I am tending to believe that until something concrete comes. There are sources that, for example, say Bernanke is part of the illuminati -- should we put that into Ben's wiki?

The second CT report shows that Christian Post is legally owned by Edmond Chua and Susan Hu, but controlled by Mr Jang. Their source is... Edmond Chua. So the fact that Messrs Uzac and Davis are the legal owners of International Business Times means nothing. It is not owned by Mr Jang, but he does control it, as the text previously said. CT also states that IBT is one of "Jang's many businesses, churches, and ministries around the world". Matt's talk 15:30, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
RE: Sorry but I don't see that in your reference at all. The only reference is that Davis declined to join some group. It may very well be the case, I dont know. But that charge is pretty serious. We would need some stronger connection given that the company itself denies it. Also all of what Chua said was refuted by another investigation by CP itself, so its not clear that this is the case. I'm going back with WPP:SOAP. Let's talk here before editing again as if this is just a rouge theory, what you're doing is adding to that.
Guys, discussion about content belong at Talk:International Business Times, rather than being scattered across various user talk pages. Let's centralise discussion there. Phil Bridger (talk) 17:44, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
