MEVC drainage section[edit]

@Pfly: Hi Pfly, I've started working on this draft for the Mount Edziza Volcanic Complex again after being largely inactive on Wikipedia since October and I would like your thoughts about the drainage section. Does it look okay? Streams aren't really my thing so it would be great to get input from someone who works on BC stream articles. Volcanoguy 08:07, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Volcanoguy! I'll look when I get a chance. I went pretty inactive for a while as you probably know, and am trying to get back a bit more. That lode of music making I fell into a few years ago has been very productive and fun, and the main thing that has kept me from being here more. And it is still going great, so I'm hesitant to promise too much, but I should be able to at least look as that stuff when I have some time and focus (at work atm lol). PS, do you mean on Mount Edziza volcanic complex, or do you have a draft somewhere I have lost track of? Pfly (talk) 20:43, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Pfly: I'm working on a complete rewrite for the MEVC article in my sandbox. Volcanoguy 00:43, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Volcanoguy: It looks fine to me. Maybe one could quibble over some of the directionals, though that's a pretty small thing. Still, fwiw, the ones that seemed quibble-ish after a (fairly quick) check are: Nido Creek (more east than northeast maybe?), Tennaya Creek (seems to flow east, first somewhat southeast, then east, then somewhat northeast, no?), Crayke Creek (southwest near mouth but mostly west or a little northwest otherwise?), and Raspberry Creek (seems more west than northwest, some parts flow a bit south too). But this is all quibbly stuff and kinda subjective, so *shrug*. One of these days I'll see if I can get around to making pages for these and for the others you've mentioned on other pages that I was planning to make pages for. Also, if I think of anything else that might be good for this section I'll let you know. Hope that is useful, and let me know how else I can help! Even though my Wikipedia-ing has been sporadic and not very dependable. Pfly (talk) 00:44, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Pfly: All of the directionals were taken from the BC Geographical Names entries for those creeks. By the way, yesterday I was looking at the sources you used when you created the Little Iskut River article and I found the Northern BC Backroad Mapbook to be pretty interesting. I might use it as a source for when I write about the Yukon Telegraph Trail, Buckley Lake Trail and the Buckley Lake to Mowdade Lake Route. The Yukon Telegraph Trail is overgrown and apparently no longer passable but the other two can still be used as access routes to the MEVC. Volcanoguy 14:06, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have that mapbook! It's quite nice. They make others for most of the rest of BC, also nice. Pfly (talk) 01:17, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Pfly: I've added Chakima Creek in the drainage section as a tributary of Shaman Creek. Not sure how I managed to miss that one. I've filled out the accessibility, recreation, telegraphy and indigenous peoples sections within the last 8 days but there's still a lot more to add. This article is gonna be huge! @Pfly: By the way, Sezill Creek currently redirects to Mess Creek as does Sezill Hot Springs. Do you think the hot springs should have their own article or should the redirect be changed to Sezill Creek after you create an article for that creek? I might have sources for the hot springs if they're gonna be mentioned in an article about Sezill Creek. There are also springs at Elwyn Creek, Mess Lake and along Mess Creek. @Pfly: Hi, I'm just letting you know that I've moved everything from my sandbox into the Mount Edziza volcanic complex article. Volcanoguy 17:32, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
