Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism. Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable. Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created. Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one. Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Literature in The Seventies

I took a class called "1970s in American Culture" at college and one of the books we had to read was Looking for Mr. Goodbar, by Judith Rossner. Is there any way you can fit this one in? Mike H 16:18, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)

Joe Cotten

I must say, great work on the Joseph Cotten article. There may be a few pictires we could get rid of, and like you said to me before, a lot is needed on Radio (if I remember correctly, I stated earlier that he was in the Suspense version of The Most Dangerous Game)AND you talk a tad too much about Citizen Kane's mechanics and results... but overall it is a great job!

re: Respect (song)

THe best way to get a song article as an FA is to go in-depth about the making and meaning of the song. Out of all the articles I've written on soul songs, there's only one that I've done that's close: Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me) (but I'm too timid to nomiate it as a FAC; plus I can't find the single cover or a picture of The Tempts performing it on Ed Sullivan--I only have footage from the same show of them doing "Get Ready").

So, the best thing ot do is to as in-depth as possible about the making of the song: what was going on in Otis' life and career when he wrote it, what he personally thought of the song; what Aretha thought of the song, the beginnings of her career at Atlantic during the time, more about the song representing the feminist movement, more about the various (and numerous) covers of the song and notable uses in movies/commercials. Also, a thirty-second or less clip would be good too (for a song of this vintage, the original mono 45 is ususally best, as opposed to a stereo album mix). --FuriousFreddy 20:06, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

I'm afraid that there's no getting through to him; he doesn't care about other editors, nor about Wikipedia policies and guidelines — he does what he wants to do in the way that he wants to do it, and gets aggressive when challenged. It's getting very close to time to open an RfC on him, but until then, the only option is to clear up after him (and be prepared for him to revert whatever he doesn't like). I was going to clean up the Redding article later, but my connection got messed up and I couldn't log onto the internet for awhile. Respect

Hmmm, not to cause drama, but the song is far from my "pet project". There is no need to insinuate something like that. Anyway, let's move on from that. The placement of the hits...(they should each be moved up one notch, sorry about that). I've heard about the problem with Atlantic and Aretha adding new parts, but I don't know if I can come up with a source (I read about it somewhere not online), but I definitely did not mean to put wrong info in. Volatile, I think we should reflect the modern names of charts, but I understand what you're saying. I've made some notes on the Aretha Franklin version and the Otis Redding version to help avoid confusion. But I think we should pick one format of writing or the other, sooner or later. I've also commented out for now the debated text that you had problem with. I've also redirected pages that linked to Respect (song). Once again, I fail to see how this is my pet project. I dont think I claimed anything about adding new stuff. And I think you are overreacting on the matter of the split. Like I explained to you, I changed it as soon as I could. If you want you can search my contributions. I'm not lying to you, and I have no reason to. I made the split Sunday. Monday, I couldn't edit much because like I said before, my internet was having problems. Late Tuesday leading into early Wednesday, I was able to log back on, and went to fix some articles. It's not like I waited three weeks to fix this. Well, at the very least, I'm glad we were able to reach some resolution in this situation. OmegaWikipedia 04:29, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

You see why I left?

Why people like OmegaWikipedia decide they can violate the project's rules and turn Wikipedia into their own personal fan site frustrates me. A free-source encyclopedia could be a great asset, especially for music coverage, but he seems intent on undermining any attempt at credibility in order to satisfy only himself.

I saw what he did to you article on "Respect", and it pissed me off enough to fix it up myself, removing the innaccuracies, clumsy wording, etc. Watch him revert it to his version, for no reason other than to satisfy himself. And when he does, he's getting an RfC. I've had it written and sitting on my desktop for a month. Enough is enough. --FuriousFreddy 04:53, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

Those articles (and every other seperated article about the same song) need to be recombined, and O.W> should never have seperated them. This is an encyclopedia, and it needs to read as such. There is a such thing as overinformation in an encyclopedia, and many of this new batch of song articles could stand to get cut down to a much shorter legnth without losing any important information. Hello, good work on Wonderful World (song), and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. What websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Wonderful World (song)? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? Greetings. You were involved in the discussion regarding the deletion of certain lists as copyright violations. TIME Magazine's 100 most influential people of 2004 was determined to be a copyright violation, and was deleted. I restored the article, but removed the list itself, simply describing the list so as to avoid copyright problems. The Rare Breed

Random question: Is there any particular reason you started this article? I'm just curious, because I didn't think anyone outside my family had ever heard of it hehe. The movie is, as the article says, loosely based on the life of William Burgess, who is a relative of mine. The fact that it stars Jimmy Stewart is a bonus because he is one of my favorite actors. Anyway, I've had the article on my "To Do" list for some time now and had just not gotten to it yet. It makes me happy to see someone else started it though!
