Revert[edit]

I reverted you, not just because good other articles don't have that kind of content, but also because it lacks secondary sources. But there's a bigger thing here--you're fighting to keep some tiny detail in that's relevant only to some locals ("The school also has an Additional Support Needs base, which serves primary pupils from Badenoch and Strathspey. Most Primary 7 pupils from Aviemore Primary School will, after transition days in June, end up transferring to the catchment area secondary school, Kingussie High School, after the summer holidays"), when you have a real-life neolithic monument in the village? That's--well, that's a shame. Drmies (talk) 00:32, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, thats your opnion. Not to mention you literally reverted the exact minute I did the edit. Have you got some kind of bot. Because its not humanly possible unless you coincidentally were on the page the same minute, noticed my addition on the exact minute, and deleted it and added a comment on the exact minute. Are you literally stalking this page, do you have a job? Not being rude just a genuine question, as you pretty much reacted so quickly it seems like you are a bot. There is not enough information on this page, and it says you are not supposed to revert edits unless it genuinly is damaging an article. Sure, the information may be a little unnecessary to most. But as far as I am concered, its not damaging the article, it is information that is well researched, and though I would might as well add if I am adding relevant information about the school. As far as I know, know one cares about the monument. I live here and have heard no one talk about it, and I know a lot of locals. I also thought I would add this information, since I went to this primary school. I am only 16 and know by experience this stuff, but have also cited. You also seem pretty high up in Wikipedia, it says something about you being admin? It says you have thousands of edits, and may I ask you something, why are you stalking a tiny/not well known page about a little town in Scotland? I have read a couple of forum posts about you, and people are saying you are a pain in the ass. I am not saying that, other people are. Its just a few extra lines of information, its not harming the article. And some people may genuinly want to know about the school even if they don't live there. VGP05 (talk) 00:46, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are literally in the United States, what are you doing on such small pages, why are you fighting so hard to remove a couple of lines from a small town in Scotland's wikipedia page. You are not making sense. You are the type of person that tries to restrict people from editing. VGP05 (talk) 00:48, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would understand if someone who actually lived in the area would have removed it. Although I believe that it should still be there. Like I said, its less than 3 lines. But you are someone from the United States. I know a good few people that like to know a lot about small towns/villages, including information about the school, even if its not relevant to you. Unless you have got a genuine reason how it is "destroying/damaging the article" or "is vandalism", then I would wish to revert the edit. VGP05 (talk) 00:53, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, is this you. I would like you to particularly read "personal life" and critiscm part. I know this is acusations, but if that is true, that is absolutely vulgar and disgusting. Not accusing you myself, but it seems like multiple of your students have. Link here: VGP05 (talk) 00:57, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Could you also explain secondary sources. I am 16, new to wikipedia, and have no idea what you are talking about. Not just that, but I still believe in keeping it up. It is a very short part of the article VGP05 (talk) 01:03, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Aviemore, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. This is an encyclopedia, not a website for the town. Please use material that is verified by proper SECONDARY sources. Drmies (talk) 01:04, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can I please talk with someone else? It is not personal attacks. I am not going to tell anyone obviously, as it probably isn't true. I don't believe anyone can see this, nor that is is defaming you/trying to attack you. Please explain to me how this is a personal attack? I am autistic and don't really understand. But still, it is just a very short part of the article, it is not harming the article, and it IS NOT vandalism. You are just trying to attack ME over a sentence in a tiny article. I can understand heavily policing much bigger articles. But it really isn't harmful. I feel as if you are abusing your power a little bit. There is a difference between vandalism and adding a tiny bit of content that some people would appreciate reading. I just feel like you are giving Wikipedia a bad name. It is supposed to be something that anyone can edit, and for freedom of editing, unless, of course, it is vandalism or is actually "damaging" the page, or false information. But its not, I literally got it from the schools handbook, as well as other sources, WHICH I HAVE CITED. I have also been to this school personally, like I said before, so I know how it all works. VGP05 (talk) 01:15, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I already reported you. You're autistic and you're 16 and you don't know the rules and yet you are coming here to yell at me. That's not smart. And then you browse around and find some sick site that outs me and you post that here. I will tell you one thing: look up WP:OUTING, and don't do anything like that ever again on this site. Drmies (talk) 01:29, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know. You are a grown man that is being really rude to an autistic teenager. I don't know certain social cues. How is it outing. I am sorry for posting that, I shouldn't have. I didn't know the talk page was apparntly public. Although you were pretty rude. I didn't intentionally look up "some sick site". I was looking up to see if you were some kind of bot, as you reverted literally ON THE MINUTE I did my revision. Are you also trying to say that I shouldn't be on Wikipedia because I am autistic, or edit on Wikipedia because I am autsitc? Because you are making it seem like that way. Or that I shouldn't "yell" at you because I am autistic? And then saying "That's not smart". That seems to me like you were trying to "take a dig" at me. Report me for what. From my experiences with you, you just don't seem like a very nice person. I am autistic, and it takes me a bit longer to understand certain things. It seems to me like you have had little experience in working with anyone with special needs. How am I "yelling" at you. I am not talking in all caps. I am calm. I wasn't meaning to find a "sick site", it was just one of the only sites that came up when I searched. You think you would be more well know than that. Like I said, apologies for "outing" you. But you did react pretty rude and unsympathetically. If we could please cease with our contact now, that would be much appreciated. VGP05 (talk) 01:42, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog. No, I was not being rude: I warned you for unacceptable behavior, and as you demanded, I told you exactly what the problem was. You were edit warring: look it up, WP:EW. You added information of no encyclopedic value sourced to primary sources: look it up. You don't know what secondary sources are? Maybe that should have occurred to you before you came in like a bull in a china shop. And posting personal information from a shit site is ALWAYS wrong, doesn't matter where it is. If you don't know that you should not be on the internet--but then, you keep saying shit like "you don't seem like a very nice person". To me, you seem like a person who comes in somewhere and starts fucking around without knowing what the rules and guidelines are, and when someone points that out to them, they start insulting the person who cleans up their mess. And after that they claim they're young and autistic. If you do things that go against our guidelines and policies, we are going to warn you. "Please cease contact"--believe me, I have no desire to interact any more with you, but maybe you should stop insulting me if you want that apology to sound in any way sincere at all. Drmies (talk) 02:10, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said, please cease contact. Narcaccistic people never admit they are in the wrong.I am not saying you are, but please, accept some valid criticism. It won't hurt. I know what you are trying to do, try to get me to lose it and say something stupid by being quite rude and making assumptions about a person you do not know. Your a grown man, why are you swearing, and taking it to heart, if you are high up in Wikipedia and everyone respects you, you think you would try to act a little more professional instead of swearing in every post. If anything, you are more insulting and being rude. I know you are trying to be rude, because you are quoting and me and are trying to say that I am talking shit. I didn't say that to you. I didn't come in "like a bull in a China shop." We are behind screens. Believe it or not, I am not angry in the slightest. I was just saying how I thought you are wrong. I apologise for the website, but you still were rude, and we wouldn't want an an apology from you now would we? You might genuinely not trying to be rude, although from your wording of things, and the fact that we are behind screens, it does seem to me like you are being rude/trying to be sneakily rude. And trying to make assumptions like "I am a person who starts fucking around and disobeys the rules, I insult people, and then claim I am young and autistic. As a matter of fact, I don't do that. I respect rules, I haven't been banned on any site. Being young and autistic IS a valid excuse, as autistic people are known to miss certain social cues and behave in ways that are socially unacceptable. Not if you kept doing it of course. But it was a valid excuse as to why I may have seemed rude. I didn't insult you. Not once did I cuss at you or call you names. I was just saying that from my experience you don't seem like a nice person. Then you started making assumptions about how I disregard rules and "fuck around everywhere I go and use excuses". You just seem like a toxic person and a narcassist. I am glad, I want to cease all contact with you. God help whoever nexts ends up in your wrath. Have you had a bad day? It is common decency to be respectful and professional, especially if you are a "well respected Wikipedian". But if you are going to make more assumptions about me, and show no empathy when you are a grown man and I am still growing and do suffer from autism, then I will make another about you. You clearly are immature, as constantly saying things like "fuck" and "shit". You don't see the other guy swearing in his posts to me, do you? You seem like a gaslighter, you are trying to convince me that "I wAs InSulTinG yOu!!!", with nothing to base it on. You are trying to make me question my own reality. I am already depressed enough as it is. I came on this site to edit for fun, and to improve pages that were small and lacked information, not to be harrased by a grown man who has had a bad day. We all have bad days, boohoo, get on with it, and act like an adult. You can reply if you want, I know you won't accept the truth, you are just hiding behind a screen on Wikipedia all day. Don't you have better things to do. I will be ignoring you from now on though, you aren't a very good manipulator/narcassist. I don't want to get in any trouble, because in the end, that is clearly what you want. I do not want to associate with terrible people. You made me feel not welcome, and that I was destroying pages. You have probably made other people not welcome in the past. You love your position of power and think you can get away with swearing and talking shit to people, and then complain that "they are insulting me". Even that other guy loves you. You can fool anyone, but you can't fool me. From my interractions with you today, I can clearly tell that you are an evil individual that has no heart or soul, that can trash talk and be rude to someone with a disability, swear like a sailor, and have no empathy or emotions? I sincerely pray for you. Does doing this to people make you feel good, does it make you sleep better at night? I never once insulted you, unlike what you did with me. If you actually looked in my shoes, you would see that I was not insulting you, I was criticising you and pointed out how you were wrong, and how you could have handeled the situation a lot better. You will never admit any wrongdoing. I admit that I was in the wrong about posting that wiki page, but you would never do that. It would hurt your deluded view on reality that "I am perfect and cannot do anything wrong! Anyone says any criticism/opinions about me, I will report them and warn them." You really are a pathetic individual. Would you treat your children, if you have children, like that? Go ahead, be rude to me, swear at me, and insult me again. I am waiting, it just shows your true colors and shows who you really are. I thought you weren't meaning to be rude and nasty, but I can clearly see now that you have got problems, and anyone opposes you, you gaslight, harrass and annoy them to the point of scaring them off this site. Just please, read this, don't reply, and have a good think about yourself. I hope you sleep well tonight. Any other replies will be ignored, you will be talking to a brick wall, and you will not be convincing me of your delusions. You will only be convincing yourself. Any more of it and I am going to report you, as I told you to leave it and not reply, I wish to cease contact with you immediantly, but you still respond. Its funny how you were rude and said "I have no desire to interact with you anymore", clearly being very rude. I didn't mean it in that way. Believe it or not, I don't hate you, I just believe that you are one cruel individual. You convince people because you are relatively nice at first, although you show your true side when anyone dare opposes/criticises you. You are clearly wanting more reactions, which I will not be giving you. I have not feeden into your delusion, as the only thing I was wrong about was posting the wiki page. News flash: We all make mistakes. What makes this even more horrible is that, I didn't even want to say this to some stranger online, but my grandmother has just died 3 weeks ago, and me and my family are devistated. I am extremely upsetten and depressed about it. What I don't need now is someone like you coming along and making it ten times worse. I may have came across as rude because I am genuinely upset, although I wasn't meaning to be rude. You were 100% meaning to be rude. If you have any heart in your body, you would just read this message and ignore it, not take it any further, and don't try to get me to overreact and get me banned. I am not going to lose it and shout at you, because thats what you want. Believe it or not, I do want to improve this site. I am very passionate about it. I want to feel welcome. So please, if you are not a complete monster, don't keep this going. You said you wanted to cease contact with me, but yet you replied to my post. You literally seem to be living in my head rent free. Please, lets just leave it. If you have read it and don't agree, thats your opinion. But please do not rub salt onto the wound. Just don't reply, for the sake of all of us. This is the last time I am replying. I apologise for the wiki page, I am not insulting at you. Good night. VGP05 (talk) 02:48, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. I don't now where you got this bullshit about this Wikia, but you need to stop thinking that this is some Facebook page. Drmies (talk) 01:06, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate it. Although saying that "neither an editor's age" or my autism doesn't exempt me. You seem to be a bit harsh for someone who is still a minor and is autistic. I genuinely don't believe I was in the wrong in this situation, and I have gotten warning so that I look live a villain/vandal. More than one person wasn't telling me it was wrong as well. It was only that one person, Drmies, who was "telling me I was wrong". I would like to report him for how unsymphatic he was when I said I was autistic, and that I was only 16. This person is a grown man after all. I don't believe I was in the wrong, but if you want me to stop. I won't do it again, okay?
Thanks for being nicer than the other guy, and being a bit more understanding. Its just that that Drmies guy has made me feel not very welcome. I may come across as rude but I try not to be. I just don't feel like I am wanting here now and I am crying and a little bit upset. I cry over the smallest things lol.
Thanks

It just feels like I am the only one getting punished. When I feel like I am not the only one in the wrong. Just because you are an admin doesn't mean you can't do anything wrong. But, like I said, I won't do it again. Thank you VGP05 (talk) 01:49, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also I just realised that apparantly anyone can issue a warning. Wouldn't there bound to be some unfair warnings being issues by people who are control-hungry? I am not sure. VGP05 (talk) 01:58, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies is an editor with many years of experience and tens of thousands of edits under their belt. They have also passed a community board that resulted in their being entrusted with special tools to help the project and ensure its smooth running. That said nobody is infallible and if you disagree with an editor over any issue involving the content of an article, you are encouraged to open a discussion on the article's talk page. We resolve disagreements through collaborative discussion and WP:CONSENSUS. In the end we abide by consensus in almost every instance where there is a difference of opinion. I have been in my share of content disputes, including some where I did not come out on top. It happens. The important thing is that we always treat one another with courtesy, assume good faith in each other's motives, and respect consensus however that may turn out. -Ad Orientem (talk) 01:59, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would gently suggest that you let this disagreement go and focus on how you can help to improve the encyclopedia. Best regards... -Ad Orientem (talk) 02:02, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I would agree. Although if he or anyone else is rude/unfair to me again. I will be bringing it up to someone. Although if I would've reported that person, no one would have believe me or took me seriously, because "he has thousands of edits" "he won awards and he is a great person". I wouldn't expect more though, usually people who are in great standing will get away with doing some inappropriate things. But I will let it slide this time and just focus on viewing articles and editing new ones. Lets hope I can actually get to it now without getting into an argument with a grown man. Thanks for understanding that no-one is perfect, and that I am autistic and I don't mean certain things. It is much appreciated. :) VGP05 (talk) 02:08, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am glad you are moving on. My parting advice is that you need to be prepared for occasional criticism. And you need to be able to remain calm in the face of disagreements. Your attempt OUT Drmies was a serious breach of our rules and if you were a more experienced editor, would likely have ended badly. Drmies has the authority to block disruptive editors and chose not to impose any sanction though he would have been well within his rights to have done so. I have worked with them for many years and have a great deal of respect for them. Restraint in the face of a perceived injury is often the best course of action. Now let us leave this unpleasant business in the past and move forward. On which note; once you have read messages, including warnings, you are free to remove them from your talk page. Good night and happy editing. -Ad Orientem (talk) 02:18, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Learning points[edit]

Don't leap in to write about your school and your home. Often that leads to very bad writing, because people do not actually know about such things; they just think that they do. Look at our Bridgend, Perth and Kinross and Kinnoull articles for example. That started out with locals writing what they knew; and thus they were "residential areas", and the article was sourced to the bowling club's WWW site. (I'm not kidding; see Special:Permalink/910072565.) Actually, Kinoull is a parish and Bridgend was a "village for the boatmen who run the ferries across the River Tay" and a burgh of barony. Both have significant histories. Serious sources exist for writing about these subjects that languish unused, even now, because people work from what they think they know instead of what's in history and geography books:

Next:

Don't source stuff to things that are written by the very subjects of the content themselves. Don't source stuff about a school, for example, to the school's own WWW site unless it is a very uncontroversial detail. In fact, ignore the WWW sites of schools, businesses, people, bands, and whatnot. The place to look for full independent documentation of Aviemore Primary School would be Education Scotland, for starters. But — Alas! — as you can see from https://education.gov.scot/education-scotland/inspection-reports/reports-page?id=1504 Education Scotland doesn't make it's reports available for more than a few years.

For best results, find something that is totally unconnected to you, find some books about it, see whether there's stuff missing about it, and tackle that. And remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia. It's not here for what people talk about, despite the appearance of some articles about politics in various countries. It's here for stuff that people don't know and have to look up. It's here for the obscure but well documented species of beetle like Chariesthes euchroma, the obscure but documented 19th-century Canadian author like Carrie Jenkins Harris (Canadian novelist), and (sometimes) the surprisingly well-documented things that one wouldn't expect an encyclopaedia to have articles on like pork roll and moonpies (which latter have a whole chapter of a book published by a University Press, generally regarded as a sign of a good quality source, written about them, notice — not something that one can say about Wagon Wheels, at least as far as I could find when I went looking to see if there were similar University Press books covering Wagon Wheels) and the Gavlebocken (which I wrote about many years ago, rescuing it from being deleted from the encyclopaedia altogether, when people didn't realize that an obscure Christmas tradition in a small town in Sweden actually had a long, well documented, history).
