Asian Kung-Fu Generation edits

If you're going to make unilateral decisions on how to manage the article on AKG, you could at least explain your reasoning on the talk page. Your snarky comment, "I guess the JAPANESE wikipedia doesn't know what it's talking about, then" to an anonymous editor was EXTREMELY rude, and using the Japanese Wikipedia as an authoritive source for genre definitions is dubious at best. The anonymous editor was correct that Asian Kung-Fu Generation doesn't meet the typically accepted criteria for the emo genre -- though their status as a hardcore emo band could be debated I'd imagine.

Additionally, "Asian Kung-Fu Generation Flash Back!" is the best English-language resource for information on the band by FAR right now. Regardless of your opinion on the matter, referencing to (and linking to) fan websites for bands is a very common practice throughout Wikipedia. I'd welcome you to argue your position further in the talk page, but I feel strongly that "Flash Back!" is a valuable resource which should be included, at the VERY least until an official English site is established for the band.

Sorry for the trouble I've caused, I also want to clarify something

I replied to the message you left on the Wikiproject Final Fantasy talk page. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding we've been having, and I realised that most of it was my fault (the thing about romanization, you seem to know better than me how to romanize, but I think I've learned a bit). Now, if we could try and forget about this part, since I sincerely apologise, I think we could try to move forward to improving the Final Fantasy albums. Speaking of which, I want to clarify something. Although the english translation I provide are not always litterally what the japanese title is, I want you to know that I am using the translation from an official Square Enix website. You went ahead and changed some track names in Final Fantasy VII: Reunion tracks (not talking about removing orchestra since this is correct), such as track 3 Fight On!, to People Still Fighting. Once again, I know that the litteral translation is people still fighting, but I wanted to use the translation given by an official source since this leads to less confusion I think. I'd like to have your advice on this. Oh, almost forgot, you changed ou to ō everywhere in the romanizations, I just want to know, when an O is followed by a U, is this really how it is romanized on wikipedia, or it's just a mistake, knowing this would help me for the next times I romanize something. It's mostly because I'm a stubborn ass. D: I apologize too.I didn't know Square even HAD official English names for the FFVII OST tracks - I've only seen "Those Who Fight" and "Fighting" and the such all over the Internet. Thanks for answering to all of my questions, and I like the fact that we seem to have come to an understanding. They have official track translations for a lot of albums since the MORE FRIENDS concert I think, but I don't think a lot of people know about this. About Square, I think using their translation gives us a good source and also is a better way to keep along with their intention. So I will make the change according to their translation, correcting their errors if need be (there seems to be some typo in their tracks some times), and I will also keep in mind about ou being ō, thanks. Also, a little advice, although you're not obliged to do it this way, most users answer to questions on the talk page of the user who asked the question to be certain the message will get through, but not everyone does this, so it's up to you.--DarkEvil 01:40, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I was too rough. I apologize They're like this--the accepted Japanese name method is (for example, Rufus Shinra)--Rufus Shinra [bold this if you want] (ルーファウス神羅 Rūfausu Shinra). Template:nihongo is the same way [extra field works by writing extra= then adding the extra bit. Often it's a literal translation, IPA, etc]--

 NAME (KANA+KANJI, ROMIZATION) → Rufus Shinra (ルーファウス神羅, Rūfausu Shinra)

See, it's just that it's probably better not to interpret the katakana into an English-ish name (we could just add an interpretation along with the discussion of the etymology I guess), but it's kinda weird without anything to put in the name field, so I just delete them altogether if it's easier. urutapu 13:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I know that the references may be out of date or completely wrong, but I was bored and I went about filling in and subst'ing the parameters for the Pokerefs Template. First off, your attitude should be cast aside. Two - It doesn't matter that it's written in Kanji - The Japanese romanize it as "Net", and therefore that's his name. Just like in Death Note where the guy's name is Light (Not Raito) - His name is Net, not Netto. WhisperToMe 20:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

The reason why VIZ kept it as Rurouni is because the "Rurouni" part is written in Hiragana. IMO it's supposed to stay romanized as "Rurouni" WhisperToMe 05:16, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
