I'm trying to make a page for the band Cormorant. There is a "red" page but it isn't giving me the option to create it. Here is the "red" page:

Yes, the page is indeed creation protected. You need to make a request at the requests for unprotection page, explaining why you want the page unprotected. May I suggest you read this page before writing your article, or consider creating a userspace draft or maybe submitting a request at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Good luck! Hi... Welcome to Wikipedia! I see that you have been working in your sandbox, which is great. Hopefully, you're gaining some insight into how this whole thing works.

You say you are trying to create a page. To create a page, all you need to do (easy way) is to search for the page you want to create in Wikipedia. You'll see that it will say that a page doesn't exist. On the results page you will see a red link that tells you that you can click to start the page.

Before you do, make sure that the subject of your article is notable. That is, are reliable, third-party sources to show that the subject of your article is important enough to have an article.

You might like to read this page about writing your first article. Also, this page has good information on getting started. Enjoy! If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know!

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment.
