Merry X-men![edit]

Dude, we celebrate Christmas, X-mass, Giftmas, Halloween, ANZAC Day. Any excuse for a party on this rock, as for the language, most Australians can speak an advanced level of drunken-slur. I can't blame you on the Cairns thing. Woolloomooloo has 6 o's. IMO, that's 5 o's too many. Why does it need 6? Why? Who would want to live there? The whole place is a joke.

Thankyou Tijuana! Happy holidays to you too, and best wishes for the New year. Which Aus is already in because of time-zone shiz; what did you do?

Cheers! Dfrg_msc 00:22, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tip Tijuana. I never knew about this functionality. Cheers, P|^|C (talk) 08:34, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

:) That's a question many people have asked. The reality is, I am..kind of Swedophile (even though I don't have any known Swedish ancestry..weird :) ). Like to follow the Swedes playing in different sports and...eventually end up following the sports they play too. My favorite among them is ice hockey and soccer. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:HAlpert - What Now.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HAlpert - What Now.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:32, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User Tijuana Brass. Sorry if my recent edits have been disruptive. The thing is that, I'm fairly NEW to Wikipedia, And could use a few editing tips, Would you mind giving me some? Thanks!--Universal Studios Number 1 Fan (talk) 22:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plese note that he's now making more of the same sort of disruptive edits at some Marvel films which he's made before, and which in part prompted my report. Also ,thanks for the additional information on that report. ThuranX (talk) 05:34, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of McDonald's urban legends[edit]

An editor has nominated McDonald's urban legends, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/McDonald's urban legends (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:44, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response from WP:AN/I[edit]

Hi Tijuana Brass,

Thank you for responding so helpfully and congenially. If you had been involved in the beginning, I would probably just have submitted the two revised articles as you indicated in your post. As it is, I'll probably just vacate Wikipedia after the way I was treated (by the others). I'm very frustrated right now and, who know, maybe it's the frustration talking. Would it be alright to blank the speedy deletion notices on my talk page?

Thank you again,

Lumturo (talk) 21:58, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for being so helpful once again.
At this point, it would be difficult for me to participate. I've been told I'll be blocked if I contribute an "inappropriate" article. Since I already know the written rules reasonably well, appropriateness would probably hinge on the unwritten guidelines that CastAStone alluded to. I'm not sure that there's any way to know what they are.
It doesn't make sense to me that I should be kept this way from writing articles. In the real world, I have several books, about a dozen chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and some forty publications prepared for company stakeholders. Granted, one of the books is my dissertation.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on the system for learning policies. I've noticed what seem to be conflicts among policy and guideline pages. More striking still are several subtle but important omissions, which give me the impression that editors haven't reached consensus on key points. Finally, pages like WP: Deletion largely describe things that you can or may do. If you don't do them, it comes as a shock when the punishment is sudden, harsh, and maybe even irrevocable. This is one reason why I didn't think all deleted articles had to go through deletion review. The page WP: Deletion said nothing stronger than "you can request review…"
I will definitely consider your suggestions. Lumturo (talk) 02:57, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Fearrington House deletion[edit]

Hello - I notice that the article about The Fearrington House has been deleted for blatent advertising. I would like to request to edit this page to make it more objective so that it can be un-deleted. The Fearrington House is a very famous restaurant that has been in operation for nearly 30 years, and all information in that article can be verified in the sources listed in the posting. It is listed in the Wiki article about Destination Restaurants, and it would be nice if that mention could link to a page about the restaurant. The Inn at Little Washington has an article that has not been deleted, so I hope I can make the Fearrington article more similar to that one and maybe it will stick around. Thank you! Fearrington (talk) 14:36, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some parts of the intro were (that's the first thing I saw). You're an admin, so you obviously can still view it; the link to the copyvio is on my user talk page --  jj137 22:16, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Um, which AfD?   jj137 22:26, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The first whole paragraph also has word for word copying... why shouldn't this article be deleted? Ohmpandya (Talk) 22:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, yes; also, what I was confused with was when you said brought up by several people in your recent AfD -- did you mean to say RfA? Sorry, just confused me :) Thanks --  jj137 22:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, just clarifying. Thanks for the help.   jj137 22:35, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I took it to AfD.   jj137 22:40, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since there have been almost 100 edits since then, parts of it have surely been overwritten.   jj137 22:42, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great. I'd rather not speedy close the AfD myself, as I started it.   jj137 22:54, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It has been speedy closed now. Again, thanks for the help.   jj137 23:16, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Localgod Clothing[edit]

Hey buddy. Can you plz do me a favor. I tried to categorize the page but the notification is still at the top of the page and the prior categorization still exists in front of mine. Please advise. Thanks! --Joshuakopel (talk) 08:00, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Palatability deletion[edit]

Please read the talk page before redirecting - the template said to read below. The request is to delete all those pages because the word is not closely related enough to toxin to warrant a redirect, as I'm sure you'll agree. If we aren't going to have an article on palatability, it should be deleted. Richard001 (talk) 03:41, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care much either way; as the article redirected at the time, I changed the talk page to match it. It seems like an illogical redirect to me, but I'm not part of the group figuring that out - I was just following the link from CAT:CSD. Feel free to change it back. Tijuana Brass (talk) 23:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ralph G.H. Siu[edit]

Hi, just a heads-up that this article (which you deleted the other day) could potentially be recreated if sufficient evidence of notability can be found. My own view is that maybe it can. I may be wrong. --John (talk) 03:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I may be too. Let me know if you want to have it restored to your userspace so you can work on it. Tijuana Brass (talk) 23:28, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm doing just that at User:Robert_Daoust/Ralph_Siu. John offered to help me. Please restore on my userspace all you can get on the articles about Siu and also about Panetics, and their talk pages. --Robert Daoust (talk) 20:28, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the recreated page, hopefully at your satisfaction: Ralph Siu. --Robert Daoust (talk) 19:09, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, again. As you may see there is presently a speedy deletion tag on Ralph Siu. May I ask you to remove it, since you are the one who deleted the article in the first place? I may understand your move at that time, but by now, if this deletion fuss continues about such a notable man, I will begin believing those who say that there is something so rotten in Wikipedia kingdom that it's not worth collaborating there! --Robert Daoust (talk) 22:25, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your prompt move. Marginally notable? In a sense, yes, but I guess he enjoys nevertheless more recognition from a number of renowned people than a whole lot of other persons figuring, rightly, in Wikipedia! --Robert Daoust (talk) 22:47, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the disruptive vandel edits i had caused on Wikipedia. I have just added an informative story/plot summery to Disaster!: A Major Motion Picture Ride...Starring You!. Accurentum[edit]

[2]

While I agree with the deletion, the redirect wasn't actually based on a typo. It was based on the fictional use of element 118, which they called "Accurentum", in an episode of Star Trek before its discovery in real chemistry.

Just wanted to let you know. - Revolving Bugbear 00:38, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. As far as I'm concerned, that's good enough reason to restore the redirect. Does it mention that in the article it linked to? On a completely unrelated note, after seeing your RfA thanks a couple of weeks ago, I looked up Kingdom of Loathing. Then, against my better judgment, I set up an account. And have wasted entirely too much time with it since then. Thanks, I think. A procrastinator is I! Let me know your account name and I'll send you a stuffy. Tijuana Brass (talk) 00:43, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
It's not mentioned in the target article, and I'm not of the opinion that it warrants a mention, which is why I didn't have a problem with the deletion. On the other hand, if you think it'd be wiser to restore it, hey, redirects are cheap.
I'm Custos, by the way, and my mall store is maintained by Keeper in Latin.
Cheers! - Revolving Bugbear 00:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Localgod Clothing[edit]

Hey man, thanks for the response. Basically, I want to get rid of the 2 messages from Wikipedia at the top of the article. I attempted to alter how it was categorized at the bottom but it just added my categories to what was already there. If you check out the top and the bottom of the Localgod page you'll see what I'm talking about. If you can tell me how to fix it or fix it for me that would be amazing. Thanks again for taking the time!!! --Joshuakopel (talk) 01:06, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rick Roeber[edit]

I have done some work since you last visited Rick Roeber and recommended for AFD. While a lot of the links to media notability were deleted by Grey Wanderer, it is still pretty clear that the guy has notability. The FOX News spot is TOTALLY about Roeber and not just a sidebar, and KC Star article is a lengthy article that appeared as the lead article in the Sunday Preview Magazine section. --yarkoski1012 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:06, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion Danbury Local School District, Ohio[edit]

I don't know that it was best to delete the county name from the title, since the school district pages I am editing are all set up that way by the List of School districts in Ohio page. Also in some situations the county will need to be listed, such as their are two North Central Local School Districts one in Williams County, and one in Wayne County.

--SteelRat02 (talk) 07:28, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I think I understand now! :o) Yes, your help would be greatly appreciated.

--SteelRat02 (talk) 07:33, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help, I need to get going to bed though. Maybe I can catch up with you later? Also I was wondering, under the Lucas County section I added a Parochial and Tech School Page. I don't know if that was best though since this is suppose to be school districts; but the information feels like it needs to be listed. I was thinking of changing it to a redirect to a page that lists the high schools in Ohio, or to the Catholic School Diocese Page. What do you think would be best?

--SteelRat02 (talk) 08:07, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where have we established that local school districts are inherently notable? High schools, yes. School districts, though? Please cite examples and/or any discusion of such. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 20:06, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

smashLAB AfD[edit]

I think the notability of smashLAB stems from 1) their creation of Design Can Change, the only initiative of its kind and an internationally recognized project, and 2) ideasonideas, their widely read blog and highly regarded in their industry (see recognition) where graphic design luminaries have engaged in discussion. Both projects are non-profit.

If it helps to use secondary sources are required I can use this: http://www.shared-vision.com/svvisionaries/intelligent-design

or this: http://www.stepinsidedesign.com/STEP/Article/28804/0/page/8

If you have any more comments or recommendations, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Corton Football Club[edit]

I have been trying to make a wikipedia article about my local fan made football team Corton Football Club and the article has been repeatedly deleted. This has begun to irritate me as I have sufficiant copyright to the information and images provided. I have also read your wikipedia article policy and the page is not a just a personal page it provides information on lowestoft culture and the various activities that the townspeople like to participate in. If you would leave my article so I could include relevant information and show how it is linked to the lives of people in Lowestoft(A prominant town in Eastern England) please consider this request and reply to Firman08.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adult-child sex (2nd nomination)[edit]

Please don't revert an AFD to remove someone elses input. I'm pretty sure that is against the spirit and letter of more than a couple of policies. Pharmboy (talk) 21:44, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look over what was removed - it was a personal attack, which has no place in an AfD or anywhere else. Tijuana Brass (talk) 21:52, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please see my response to you on my talk page. Pairadox (talk) 22:05, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the confusion. I didn't see that you were an admin (your 'tag' is placed differently than the majority of admins). My bitch was that I thought a regular EDITOR was removing comments, which I understand to be improper in an AFD under all but the most obvious and severe circumstances (vandalism). It would have been nice if it was more obvious you were an admin earlier, but I am assuming you understand the confusion and why I was complaining to begin with. section on WP:ANI[edit]

As regards blocks[edit]

What I mean is, the effect of blocking someone with whom you are engaged in an MfD, for whatever reason, is similar to that you advised Squeaky of, about the AfD in which he is involved.

"given your involvement and personal interest in this AfD, it tends to provoke stronger responses than if third parties step in to deal with them." -plus it can seem wrong to block, given your involvement with the editor even if not with one of the pages involved. Not saying your block wasn't ok, but it would seem better if someone else did it.

See what I mean? No offence at all meant or anything.:) Merkinsmum 15:28, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good Faith and Fallout[edit]

TB, Based solely and completely on SSB's faith and confidence in you - "I'm concerned not with the chance that you did something improper (which I view as remote at best)" he said - I accept that your recent series of blocks were intended to be and believed to be proper and unbiased. I absolutely do not believe that they were justified, based on a fairly literal reading or WP:CANVAS, but if SSB believes that you were not intentionally acting with impropriety, I accept the same.
  • Regarding a comment you made on the ANI - "although, given that an XfD runs for five days, a 24 hour block will not affect the outcome" - I think that while that may seem to be the simple case, human nature makes this absolutely incorrect. If any discussion is leaning heavily one direction, more and more people agreeing with that side will be motivated to post and those disagreeing less so. In addition, and more important, many may vote and leave it be. Without the opportunity to refute initial claims in the first 24 hours, these opinions and comments will stand even if the user would have "voted" otherwise when given more background. The timing of the block was of vital import and may have doomed the page entirely. (Ultimately, that's fine as I have no desire to work on it myself and hope and have seen others take it over. It still needs work, but it is getting farther away from the appearance of a rant-page and more toward a discussion page; that was the intent and hope.)
  • Regarding the block, this is my biggest contention (and why I can be understandably upset): Even if those messages were canvassing (which they were not), the final one was left on 17:10, 19 January 2008, and your "warning" wasn't until 17:09, 19 January 2008, as I was finishing. I immediately responded with policy-based rationale and justification, evidencing that there was no canvassing, at 17:20, 19 January 2008. Instead of answering with any sort of reason why you would consider it canvassing in spite of the policy-based justifications I gave (and I'm not saying it wasn't possible necessarily), you simply replied, at 17:23, 19 January 2008, "I'm not interested in debating with you". How am I supposed to follow policy if an admin won't discuss it with me? It sounded like an admission of error on your part. Still, though, more than half an hour after the final neutrally-worded message, you blocked me, at 17:44, 19 January 2008. In the interim, I even had two thanks for the notices, noting that they were neutral. Can you see why I am and was so confused and upset? The block comes more than half an hour after the alleged cause of it ended. It appeared entirely retributional.
  • I wanted to give you my perspective on it. I often will go to other users to ask for their perspective and seek guidance on whether or not I'm being rational in my interpretations of others' actions or in my read of comments (and most often, I am perfectly justified, perfectly understanding, and perfectly neutral by all accounts).
Like I said, though, I absolutely give you the benefit of the doubt per SSB's comments. Maybe in the (near) future, I'll give you a "call" when personal attacks start up again and provide you the opportunity to prove that equality to me and others who have expressed their concern, by blocking someone when they go out name-calling and the like.
Otherwise, thank you for your continued "service" as an admin. Best of luck avoiding these conflicts of interest in the future.
VigilancePrime (talk) 06:17, 22 January 2008 (UTC) :-)[reply]
I found it! I knew there was another comment SSB made that I wanted to recognize, and this was it: "I explicitly trust the judgment of both these editors." Anyway, TB, I'm kinda glad the WWTT page is gone (though I think it COULD have been so much better if others had changed it instead of leaving it and voting against it) and especially pleased that you and I are more on the same page now. Best wishes, VigilancePrime (talk) 17:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC) :-)[reply]

View and Interpretation[edit]

TB, I have a need-someone-really-experienced question, and due to our recent convos I thought you'd be the best person to ask. I recently contributed to a (very-heavily debated) DRV, at great length, and I think at least that I did so from a very neutral-ish, policy-based, painfully-civil manner. I was wondering if this was appropriate by the next editor (within minutes). I specifically wanted to ask you to also get an evaluation of the civility (or lack thereof, if that be the case) of my lengthy comments. While I think they were fine, an outside opinion would be appreciated. If they were, and if the above link's actions were not appropriate, would you be able to or notify someone who could take whatever fixes are necessary? I promised that I would only post once (fixing my sig I don't consider "counting"!) and really do not want to go back, though I feel the very valid points are being wholly missed by the community because of their (lack of) location. If everything's perfectly fine as-is, let me know. I just need that outside viewpoint. Many thanks! VigilancePrime (talk) 14:17, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Got your message, read n replied. I wanted to add that one MIGHT point out this version of the page which I think was one of the most neutral of them all. (Lots of sections, opposing sections presented with many, many references, and linking evenly to both "sides" of the issues.) Your call. VigilancePrime (talk) 05:53, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted source references[edit]

Hey Tijuana! Since you self-identify as an admin who'll provide access to deleted material, would you mind providing access to the large source list Strichmann and I provided here (not quite sure where it might be now, whether in some deleted archive for the talkpage to Adult-older teen sex or to Adult-child sex, the link was working when I gave it here on 14:53, 19 January 2008 (UTC), thanks to the deletion that first link is broken now)? It was hard work even just getting that incredible amount of sources all down in a wikified version, so it would be great if you could help so we could move it to somewhere else. --TlatoSMD (talk) 20:46, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Picard Deletion[edit]

I wish to object to the deletion of the article on Canadian Chef Martin Picard. Martin Picard is probably the best known Canadian Chef outside of Canada. He was the only Canadian chef asked to be included in the book "My Last Supper: 50 Great Chefs and Their Final Meals / Portraits, Interviews, and Recipes" by Melanie Dunea which features profiles of Gordon Ramsay, Mario Batali, Anthony Bourdain and other food celebrities. He was featured in a 2004 article by Anthony Bourdain for Gourmet Magazine, and again in Bourdain's book "The Nasty Bits", and again on the Quebec episode in season two of Bourdain's televison show, No Reservation. He was featured in a December 3, 2007 article in the New Yorker "Red White and Bleu" by Bill Buford who characterized his restaurant Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal as "the most immoderate, unreservedly unhealthy eating establishment in North America." Au Pied sells more foie gras than any other restaurant in North America. Is this enough information on "the significance of the subject" for you? If not, I'm happy to provide more.

Somebody's threatening edit wars at me, removing the Serbian again (without a good reason, nor consensus), and threatening to report me for 3RR because I have a history of reverting the article (see [6]), despite the fact that I was rvving an obvious, long-term vandal. Would you mind asking the user to back off and/or respect WP:CONS? --Cheeser1 (talk) 03:25, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you come back and give this some attention? Somebody's cut in with a few cheap-shots at me (apparently I'm over-emotional and I'm a bad debater?) and now I've got two Croatian editors tag-teaming the WP:BRD like they really want to beat it up and take its lunch money. PS please respond at Talk:NFL playoffs, 1974-75. If you're still really busy, I'll hit the ANI or ask another admin who's been involved with Vrlika. --Cheeser1 (talk) 15:48, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They are also canvassing for Croatians to come and edit-war and/or otherwise remove Serbian language from the article [7]. This is seriously nonNPOV, and they're accusing me of inappropriately asking you to step in, despite the fact that you were the administrator most involved in this issue only a month ago, when it was a vandal (instead of a group of angry Croatian editors) who were doing this. --Cheeser1 (talk) 02:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ATA Carnet[edit]

Thanks for the encouragement Tijuana Brass. It's nice to hear positive feedback on my first article edit. I'm going to do the United States Council for International Business next . Keep an eye out for that. I also want to do a bunch with Dumping (pricing policy). The current article is lacking. I posted a bunch of info in the discussion last week. I hope that someone can give me some guidance on whether or not that info is appropriate for the main article. If so I'll clean it up and add the rest of what I know and can reference. Thanks again. --95McCartney (talk) 04:48, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Jay Brannan[edit]

I have nominated Jay Brannan, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jay Brannan. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Userfy?[edit]

TB, could you userfy the recently-deleted article Quantum Archeology for me, please? I missed the discussion entirely and am interested to see the article, Additionally, the discussion seems to indicate that it is emerging and thus userspace work on it may bring about a useable article in the future. Worst-case scenario, it can't and I {{db-userreq}} it later on. Please, if you're willing, put it to User:VigilancePrime/Userfied/Quantum Archeology - Many thanks!!! TJB[edit]

Your user name is perfect. Why? Just because I'm prejudiced. The Brass were among my favorite groups in the 60s. People think the only 60s acts of any note were the Beatles, the Stones, everyone who went to Woodstock, and maybe Frank Sinatra. But the Brass were huge in the 60s. And they still are, at least on my iPod. :) Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 01:44, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear pal[edit]

After so much time I've decided to come clean and tell you that me, the clean and reputable user Culverin was in fact user: Carbine and the smugface family. Since those tough times I have learnt to help rather then destroy, and to be helpful instead of a troll. Can you forgive me for my past acts brassy?

Cheers bro.

Deleted House of Floyd page[edit]

TJB - love the name, and the group. A while back there was a dustup over articles related to Pink Floyd cover bands and one that I created was apparently deleted for lack of notability. Sometime in the next couple of months there will be an article about House of Floyd in Guitar World Magazine, which should/could provide the requisite notability required to keep the House of Floyd page. When that happens I'd prefer to work from the old wiki page, rather than redo thing from scratch. Any chance you can put this page soemewhere where I can get to it?

deleted article request[edit]

Well, I was referred to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_administrators_who_will_provide_copies_of_deleted_articles, then when I saw Tijuana Brass, I had to choose you! I mean - H.A. - c'mon! Besides the music, some of the best album covers ever.

Anyways, I was told to go and request a copy of the Gary Karp article that was recently requested.

Can you please provide? If not, where do I go for it?

Thanks,

Orphaned non-free media (Image:PAF cover art.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PAF cover art.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zuula[edit]

Hi Tijuana Brass. It's been a while since our last discussion, which was about the entry for Zuula. I've finally made some edits you suggested to the Zuula entry. In particular, I added a reference to a (Newark) Star-Ledger newspaper article about the search engine. In addition, I added on the Discussion page some additional references to help with a decision regarding the notability of the search engine. Based on these edits and the additions to the Discussion, I thought it might be a good time to review the Notability Flag that is at the start of the article. (I'm not comfortable making a decision about the Notability Flag myself ... at least not at this point.)

Since making the edit a few days ago, there has not been any review of the Notability Flag, so I thought I might contact you to see if you could do the appropriate review, or if you could refer the matter to someone else who might do the review.

Thanks for your time. I hope all is well on your end. Simkovich (talk) 17:48, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick follow up to my note above, Tijuana Brass. I've not gotten any feedback on my suggestion that the notability flag at the top of the article on Zuula be removed. Since it's been a while, and because there seem to be an adequate number of respectabl sources that have mentioned or written about Zuula, I've edited the entry to remove the notability flag. I've also noted in the Discussion page for the Zuula entry the rationale for the deletion.
Let me know if you want to discuss this further. I'll be checking my (talk) page regularly.
Hope you are doing well. --Simkovich (talk) 13:24, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please undelete the M6bone page[edit]

I translated the german verson of the m6bone page into english and it got deleted for no reason. It is a translation of another article, and is in the same vein as the 6bone and mbone pages, but I didn't have time to tell anyone this before it got deleted.

If the page needed to be deleted, then I would request that the 6bone and mbone pages, and the german m6bone page all be deleted too as a matter of consistency, but given they are all sources of information for those interested in computer network research I don't this is necessary.

Cerveza Jerome[edit]

Hello,

I would like to create a page for the brewery Cerveza Jerome, an Argentinian microbrewery. I am not affiliated with the company in any way, nor am I attempting to promote them. I was assigned their brewery as part of a school project and, having studied it, I was surprised to find it isn't on Wikipedia and I'd like to put it up there. I know the previous page was deleted by you for being a blatant advertisement. Is there an easy way to run what I'd like to put up by you to make sure it is OK? I'm kind of a Wikipedia newbie in terms of editing so please be gentle. Fezzik21 (talk) 00:53, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Bure kalou.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Userfication request that does not seem automatic[edit]

You are listed at Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles and since I don't want to inundate the people whose names start with the letter a, I have jumped to the Ts (given my username). I have made a request at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive262#Userfication of deleted and salted content. The article has been deleted through AFD twice and the first time was upheld at DRV. The first version was 49KB readable prose, while the second version was 33KB readable prose. Although many have argued the second was a recreation of the first, two separate admins reversed their own WP:G4 deletions upon further review. It seems that a third admin speedily declined another G4 although I am unable to see the history right now and did not notice this during the second AFD. I have a long history at successful recreations (12 articles now at WP:GA are formerly deleted articles that I have recreated, including "Cat Daddy" which was deleted 4 previous times). The second AFD seems to be an indictment against any future recreation of the article, which is befuddling to me. I would like to learn something from this seemingly odd result. I have requested a userfication that includes history and talk page so that I can investigate policy/guidelines. So far the best userfication offer was by Floquenbeam to restore it for a fixed 2 week expiry. I have stated that 2 months would be more appropriate than 2 weeks because no policy discussion can be guaranteed to conclude within 2 weeks and I have several that I would like to pursue. Floquenbeam, has stated his hesitance is based on assumptions of bad faith regarding my intentions and that I have made a phantom "refusal to agree not to bug people about tagging or edits they made to the article prior to deletion" which I never made (I was actually concerned about the 2 week expiry and forgot to assent to the request). I am unable to discuss things with Floquenbeam who has not edited in 3 days (since 20:43, 28 May 2014). As a frequent recreator of content, I would like a chance to become a better editor by examining the various policies related to this outcome with the content available for illustration and instruction.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 14:22, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity[edit]
