He obviously does not know the policies of WP, his knowledge of grammar is non-existent and he just can't put two and two together. He has made some good suggestions, but others are over the top.

Back to bidness

A couple of food portal/WikiProject stuff:

• The To Do list for the project that appears in the banners, where is it located? I want to add the GA/FA noms to it
• Do you know there is no Whiskey, Vodka or even general Spirits WikiProject or even a Task Force? These are the two most common types of hard liquor manufactured in the West, with almost all distilled liquors with origins in Europe being one of the two. Strange.

Korean Romanization

That is only difference from several Romanization of Korean language. So please read this WP:MOS-KO and Korean Romanization. In my residence, today's temperature is over 40 Celsius! (maybe over 100 Fahrenheit). Unfortunately, my air conditioner complied to this crazy wheather which means it was out yesterday due to its hard working these days. No sign of raining too. -_- I could not have a time to get it fixed or go shopping. I will bear this, maybe more than 2~3 days. The heat from my computer is unbearable as well in this circumstance. Anyway, I'm so pleased with the new addition, although Goryeo dynasty needs more expansion because during the period, the most sophisticated culture in Korean history was established from its aristocracy, such as Goryeo porcelain, Buddhist cuisine, tea ceremony and confectionery. But you really did the impressive job today (If I were in the position in charge of expanding contents, it would take forever....) As for my screen name, I'd always considered changing it because 1) I did not like the arbitrarily chosen name (I would not expect that I would edit English Wikipedia much except adding photos or interwiki), 2) I had been mistakenly confused with somebody banned long ago, which has draw unnecessary attentions for me so far (Japanese people mostly from off wiki forum), 3) the weather is too hot, so at least I want to feel refreshed from my talk page and user name. rescuing Butter...

Hi, I noticed your userpage and suddenly thought you may be well-qualified to source and comment on butter, which is a current Featured Article, undergoing a FAR here...there are precious few food articles that are featured and it'd be a shame to lose one. I'll be honest, I am working on a couple of other big projects, but I will see what I can do tomorrow to source more information. The major issue with the article is the large amount of unsourced info, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I'll get back to you tomorrow, I have some pretty good sources in my library so I'm sure there is something I can do to help. Just to note, try not to be bothered if I remove info. that I can't source because it will help us keep the article at FA, as I will add other info in its place that will be sourced if I can.--Chef Tanner (talk) 03:00, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Terrific - go for it, and you are welcome to remove that which seems dubious or unsourceable, or add any other info you feel is important too. The main contributor appears to have retired so it is up to those of us around who can help out. I think it looks better than some other articles that appear there and should not require much work. Hi, Tanner. Can you take a look at this template {{Cuisine of Korea}} that I created last month? It is organized by cooking methods and ingredients. It should be implemented more, and all red links to be blue, but I guess it would be helpful to integrate Korean dishes or cuisine terms. I would appreciate your input on this. Wow, I guess the author of the book you're referring to for Korean cuisine can read Korean and seems to have profound knowledge of Korean culture. As I was checking on soups and stews section (guk and jjigae), the information are exactly same as that I used although mine is written in all Korean and I could not find such info from English sources anywhere.

I have a couple of question for you. The grouping of the soup or stew-like dishes in Korean cuisine differs from Korean cuisine experts or scholars, but jeongol is generally categorized into stew category. Or jeogol and bokkeum (볶음, stir-fried dish) are compared as a pair. What does the book say about jeongol and bokkeum?

Hmm.. I don't know because I almost access to Korean web sources (reliable though), and the Chicago format on web sources look to me somewhat the reference section unnecessary lengthy. Actually, in South Korea, Harvard style is a preferred format for thesis. As for DYK, it is my pleasure. I like the DYK's function. That is a first step for me or novice to approach how to write articles with reliable sources and NPOV. Colonial cuisine

You might want to have a look at cuisine of the Thirteen Colonies when you get back. I finally got around to writing about the regional cuisines, and I think we might try to work towards making it an FA by now. My main concern is that "Regional cuisines" and "Diet before the American Revolution" might seem slightly contradictory. Just let me know when you get back if you have the time and motivation to go for an FAC.

A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. Japanese cuisine and IP vandals

Hi, Chris, When you're back, can you take a look at the history of Japanese cuisine (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)? You may already notice that its intro and history sections are not the same as you wrote, in fact that are tainted by IP users. That pattern by IP anons is all the same; removing or reducing Korean mentions as minimum as possible. That practices has been done by a blocked user Azukimonaka (talk · contribs). Since the user banned the late of Feb., the user has been still coming back to remove the content. The article was mostly written by you with academic sources in a neutral point of view, but the user in question has done the same thing over all Japanese or Korean cuisine related articles. The user uses several ISPs, such as OCN, ODN and home.ad.jp. I think the article needs some intention from more editors. I don't want to be dragged into edit warring by the vandal. Japanese cuisine

Do you say Italian who likes pasta than bread have a prejudice against the bread? I seems this expression isn't appropriate as same as in Japanese cuisine. As you are a food task force, I will add some. The short-grain rice cultivation was not only in Japan but also China and Korea, so before the maiji-era all most all Japanse didn't know long-grain rice under seclusion policy, and couldn't eat them until recently under ban on import for conservation policy. So modern Japanse don't know the manner to eat long-grain rice with pleasure, yet. Hi, Chris, you're welcome. I think his/her misunderstanding of the word "prejudice" would stem from his English. I tried hard to explain to him, but well, I think he thinks "prejudice" has the equal meaning of bias. Some changes

I have simplified and cleaned up the side panels for the projects and task forces.

1. I replaced the edit links with the {{ed2}} template.
2. I moved the project links to its their page using a new template, {{Food projects}}. Edit this one box and all food and drink projects will be updated at once.
3. I created a new template for WikiMedia links, {{Project wikimedia}}. It is easy to use, just add the template with the |project= switch and it will automatically create links to the subject in all of the the other WikiMedia sites.
4. I created a new portals template, {{Food portals}}. It creates a box with all three food and drink portals, alphabetically.
5. I created a new assessment template, {{Project assessments}}. It works like the WikiMedia template.

I also began a side panel and tasks page for the ice cream WikiProject.

Although he states he is not in violation, he is. Additionally he is in violation of WP:Civility. Removal of Dispute Tag

Please don't revert. There's no need for that. The tags indicate that the POV and accuracy of the section is disputed. It's not questioning the citations which have nothing to do with the dispute. He is posting to the relevant articles and I believe Jerem43's actions to have been highly inappropriate for some time - this issue needs wider input and discussion. Wow, I didn't realize the gratin issue was the subject of an edit war. I just came across that radical change and thought it was weird. A similar change was made on the waffle article too. I like clear simple language, but I also think it's important to be inclusive. But if there are appropriate pointers to the relevant independent articles I'd be okay going that route too. Again, Sennen goroshi (talk · contribs) is resuming his usual behavior like removing an editor's comment from Talk:Korean cuisine which is not allowed for him to do such according to Wikipedia:TALK#Others' comments. Also, this user falsely accused me of "canvassing" a RM request by him to WT:KO[2] (the community page is intended for the community notice). I take offense at this user's constant trolling. CB, stop complaining - I removed personal remarks from a talk page as per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#Editing_comments which clearly states "Some examples of appropriately editing others' comments:

If you have their permission....Removing prohibited material such as libel and personal details.....Deleting material not relevant to improving the article "

with all due respect to the editor whos comments I removed, I do not feel they were geared towards improving the article, and were merely personal remarks on the morality and racial issues of dog meat - as such I removed them in line with wikipedia rules.

regarding other issues, please continue this on my talk page, as I dont want to have a petty argument on someone elses talk page.

Thanks for the mediation request. However, I don't feel comfortable with issues to be mediated is appropriate. The content issues to be resolved have to be pinned down exactly and not make this about me or any other editor who disagrees with you. I'll come up with a list of specific issues we need to resolve that you can look over and revise.
