At Mitchell, Ontario you wrote "Mitchell was named for a black settler of the same name who built a small shanty on the nearby Thames River. "Perhaps the only place name in Ontario named for a negro". Post office opened in 1842." You cited this source. While that source is not available online, there is a lookup feature. I added several words of text from your edit but none returned anything from the book. Help me out. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:51, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please respond? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:54, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure if this is where I need to respond because I have never had to do so. I hope this is the right place. I am here because you are questioning an edit that I did. I will write word for word how Mitchell was presented in the book on page #159: Mitchell For a black settler of the same name who built a small shanty on the nearby Thames River. "Perhaps the only place name in Ontario named for a negro" (Ontario Geographical Names Board). Post office opened in 1842. Maybe I did not do the edit properly? Is that why you are questioning me? I was always under the impression that you give credit where credit is due and that is what I believe that I did.Talrolande (talk) 15:24, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Talrolande[reply]

Did you use an online copy of the book, or do you own a copy? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:13, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I own a physical copy of the book.Talrolande (talk) 16:40, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford comma[edit]

Hi! I noticed you removed an Oxford comma in Ann O'aro. That's fine in this case, but wanted to give you a heads up that WP:MOS indicates use of the Oxford comma is acceptable, the article just has to be internally consistent either way. So in the future you don't have to worry about this kind of edit unless it's a consistency or clarity issue! Thank you for your careful eye to copy-editing errors across the site. May 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Tgeorgescu. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Josephus on Jesus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. tgeorgescu (talk) 15:38, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
