Shaykh Syed Mir Mirak Andrabi[edit]

Syed Ahmad Andrabi (R.A) [nephew of Syed Ali Hamadani],the first person of the dynasty called ANDRABI (andrabi, one who hails from ANDARAB) who came to kashmir from ANDARAB in year 1372 A.C along with other sayed's for 'Dawa' is burried in Mazar-i-Salateen. He died in 1401 C.E. He was survived by his son Syed Mohammad Andrabi (R.A)who carried his fathers mission. He preached Islamic knowledge at Khankah-i-Andrabia in Mir Mohalla, Malaratta. His son Syed Badru-ud-din Andrabi (R.A) and grandson Syed Shamsu-ud-din Andrabi (R.A) kept this mission alive. But Syed Shamsu-ud-din's son, Syed Mir Mirak Andrabi(R.A)who is burried at Khankah-i-Andrabia, Malaratta is regarded as the 'Jad-e-Amjad' of Andrabi dynasty in kashmir as his children went to many places and settled there for spreading the message of Islam. Owasi sufi by birth, he is considered as the Sajada Nisheen of Qadri silsila in kashmir, having attained it from Sayyid Ni‘matullah Shah Wali Qadri Hisari by correspondance. Though Hazrat Ni'matullah came to kashmir, there is no account weather he met Hazrat Mirak. Saiyid Ni‘matullah did not stay long in Kashmir and left back soon. Shaykh Mirak Mir spent most of his time in meditation at a Khanqah-i-Andrabi in Srinagar, besides spending 12 years meditating at Astarwun(Tral) and then remained in seclusion at Mohalla Naidyar for 12 years. He came back but prefered a simple life, far away from fame. He died in 1582 A.D., and is buried at Mallaratta in Srinagar. His elder son Syed Mohammad Andrabi remained in Malaratta while his other to sons Syed Qasim and Syed Yousuf Andrabi moved to other places for preaching and thus settled there.

Jamal-ud-Din Hansvi[edit]

Sheikh jamal-ud-Din Ahmad was a direct descendant of Hadrat Imam Abu Hanifa, the renowned jurist of Islam. He was born at Ghazni (Afganistan) in the year 583 A.H. He was five years old when his family came to Hansi. He became a disciple of Hadrat Baba Fariduddin ShakarGanj of Pakpattan at the age of 50. He learnt deeply and served devotedly. He was a scholar and a poet. Before becoming a sufi, Shaikh Jamalu’d-Din had been the khatib of Hansi, owning villages and extensive property. Discipleship with Baba Farid meant abandoning material prosperity. When his poverty became overwhelming, Shaikh Jamalu’d-Din, using Shaikh Nizamu’d-Din Auliya of Delhi as a go-between, informed Baba Sahib of his extreme impecuniosity. Through the Shaikh the Baba replied that it was Shaikh Jamalu’d-Din duty to bear the spiritual burden assigned to him. He lies buried in a mausoleum at Hansi. In the wake of partition of the Punjab in August 1947, Hansi witnessed a great massacre unparallel-ed in the annals of barbarity. The precincts of the Mazar of Hadrat Jamal-ud-Din presented awe inspring spectacle of second Karbala. With the exodus of entire Muslim population from Hansi, the Mazar remained neglected for soemtime. It was in the year 1961 that Shah Waliur Rehman Jamal (d. 1961) restarted observance of Hadrat Qutb Jamal’s urs at the Dargah Sharif in Hansi, which is continuing. Thousands of devotees from all over the subcontinent gather together annually to pay their devout homage there.

Hello Syedrais. Can you add sources to your article, please? --Vejvančický (talk) 15:45, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Check the categories at the bottom of the article, please. Are they OK? Feel free to change it. I'm not expert in that area, however, it's better to categorize our articles properly - easier to find it for the readers.--Vejvančický (talk) 16:14, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all. One last question: Is it possible to find more "blue links" for persons included in that article? Have a nice day, Syedrais --Vejvančický (talk) 16:45, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
