ORSE Article Dispute[edit]

Hey nice to "meet" a fellow nuke via Wikipedia. I agree that most of what you said on the ORSE page was accurate. My dispute is with the writing style. Your version reads like a thriller since Wikipedia is a encyclopedia ( of sorts ) it should be written in a more neutral tone. I won't revert the article until I hear back from you, edit the page, or a few days pass. Best Webprofessor

Updated[edit]

How people feel about an ORSE and what an ORSE is are two separate things. To assert an ORSE is defined by how the crew feels is factually incorrect. I am going to separate the crew feelings the experience into their own sub topic on that page. Does that work for you?

Also we should try and add something about the workups to ORSE. Honestly thats the worst part of ORSE (IMO anyways). Webprofessor

WWE and roman numerals[edit]

Actally, they use both. See WrestleMania 2, WrestleMania 13, WrestleMania 2000, WrestleMania 21, WrestleMania 22, WrestleMania 23. Also, take a look at wwe.com and it refers to it as the 15th Anniversary. The logo also says "RAW 15th Anniversary Spectacular". It's only in the backround that you see "XV". NY Giants "America's Team"[edit]

After reading the article, only ONE sports writer, Ian O'Connor called the NYG "America's Team", NOT "selected analysts" as you put it ("I believe Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, as well as Jimmy Johnson, & Terry Bradshaw all refer to the Giants as America's Team during Fox's Broadcast" ain't proof). Therefore, I deleted the article again. And FYI, I am a Giants fan. Richiekim (talk) 14:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SR 241 south extension[edit]

You put the pink tag on talk page is it about 241 South extension. This one I'm not clear but I guess not. People is strongly concern about pollution and EPA don't want alignment to mess up alignment. Do you think the 241 will ever be extend, becasue I ant it to just for the sake of time. What about the 710 north extension thats up near Pasadena, this project might be additionly controversial and upsetting, since it will disrupt the city's livings. To me I dont think the I-710 will ever happen, what about you?--Freewayguy Discussions Show all changes 01:17, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Talk pages[edit]

If I am not mistaken, you were discussing the validity of the Cowboys' title of America's Team. That is considered general discussion on the topic itself, and is not permitted on the talk pages, which are for specific discussion on improving the article. They're not a forum or message board. RE: "Copyright infringement"[edit]

Hello, thanks for your note. Yes, it is without doubt the exact same photograph. The main question seems to me: did the uploader (Yankeesrule on Commons) actually take the photograph, as claimed? This claim (reinforced on his/her talk page) seems on the face of it to be in good faith, and if it's true then s/he certainly owns the copyright and is entitled to release the photo under the license. If you have more doubts (and your doubts are reasonable too!), then you are probably best asking a Commons administrator - I do not frequent Commons myself, and cannot really advise on the best procedure there. The subsidiary question, "where did ballparksofbaseball.com get the photo?" is an interesting one - perhaps they allow the public upload of photos too? --RobertGtalk 08:35, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Jays' "retired" numbers[edit]

The four numbers shown in the picture are the retired numbers of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts. Blackjays1 (talk) 09:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, I just noticed that you had that discussion at the talk page. Blackjays1 (talk) 09:31, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Jane Gooding[edit]

I've deleted the article on the grounds that it makes unsourced allegations about someone who has never been to trial. We must be very careful with references in these matters - please refer to WP:BLP for the relevant policies and standards of referencing. Also, please note that the general sense of the community is that murder victims aren't per se notable. Regards, Acroterion (talk) 20:58, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can't keep it in userspace, either. The BLP page states quite clearly that "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons — whether the material is negative, positive, or just questionable — should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion, from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space." • I corrected the problem, I realized after I uploaded it, that I forgot to specify the license, but did not know how to correct the problem.--Subman758 (talk) 18:20, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

688 Class[edit]

Hey, I reverted your change to the 688 class submarine article regarding speed. There was an involved discussion about this on the article talk page and the basic conclusion was that the CNN article could be taken on face along with corroboration (from the Tyler reference). Personal experience about submarine speed shouldn't be in the article (and presumably shouldn't be divulged anyway). I don't mean any hard feelings and I would love to have your help bringing this article up to speed. As it stands, it has no history or context and any interested parties are welcome to join in! Barcelona Cauldron[edit]

I read on several places that he made it, but then went to more credible sources (like the one you posted). Whoops, my bad. Thanks for the update —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thelegendofvix (talkcontribs) 05:44, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

California Flag[edit]

I love your userpage. Don't let those pikers at WP:ANI get to you either. For the flag of California with the hammer and sickle, wouldn't it be called the "People's Republic of California", instead of the "California Republic" as per naming of communist countries? USS Asheville[edit]

Hey Subman758. Didn't want to update your USS Asheville page on my own. I am a 758 plankowner and I liked what I saw on your page but I wanted to fill in one blank spot. The first Chief Of The Boat was MMCM(SS) Thomas R. Perrine from 1989-1992. He transferred off the week before we took the boat from Norfolk to San Diego. I have the commissioning book that shows the entire crew from September 1991. Good Luck Ssntuff (talk) 03:16, 5 November 2009 (UTC)ssntuffSsntuff (talk) 03:16, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2004 USC Trojans football team[edit]

I think so as well--unless the Pac-10 itself opts to strip the Trojans of that title. Blueboy96 03:01, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Subman758, not sure if you noticed but File:Flag of Communist California.jpeg got tagged as not in use in any articles (it is only used in your userspace), I suggest you upload it to commons, and have the local copy deleted, you can still use it here after it is moved to Commons, it would just be in a better location, as commons is an file repository. Cheers, --kelapstick(bainuu) 09:15, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know you use it in your infobox, and I participated in the deletion discussion (on the keep side), the main idea of copying it to commons is it is available for all the Wikimedia projects, and not just the English Wikipedia, I have put a template on the file listing it as a candidate for transfer, if it goes, it will still be available here. I don't see it's value in any articles currently on Wikipedia, but there is no issue with its use in userspace. --kelapstick(bainuu) 22:08, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
