Discretionary sanctions notice for post-1932 American politics and living or recently deceased people[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

You have shown interest in living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Matt Duss. A blogspot blog is never a reliable source. Please review WP:RS and WP:BLP before editing biographies. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 05:00, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021[edit]

Hello, I'm Philipnelson99. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Lauren Bastide seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Philipnelson99 (talk) 05:47, 29 June 2021 (UTC) The Neutral point of view article says: 1. Criticism and praise should be included if they can be sourced to reliable secondary sources 2. presented responsibly, conservatively, and in a disinterested tone 3. give disproportionate space to particular viewpoints 4. the views of small minorities should not be included at all Which of those principles do you claim I have violated? July 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Philipnelson99. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. SamStrongTalks (talk) 16:01, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lauren Bastide[edit]

Your edit has once again been removed because it violated the Neutral Point of View and Biographies of Living Persons policies. Please familiarize yourself with the policies thoroughly before you continue editing. Also, you have started violating the Edit Warring policy. Do not try to force through your changes by simply reverting or re-adding them. Article disputes such as this are supposed to be discussed with other editors so that a WP:CONSENSUS can be reached. You have already been directed to the article's talk page, which is the correct place to start discussing this, by Philipnelson99. Please make sure you state your reasoning why you think this incident deserves mention and how it complies with the above policies. Please also be aware of the civility policy. Thank you.
