Portal:Peter Godwin[edit]

At Wikipedia, "Portals" are introductions to broad topic areas - have a look at, say, Portal:Technology, Portal:Africa or Portal:Jane Austen. The page you created, Portal:Peter Godwin, isn't a suitable topic for a portal, so I have tagged it for deletion. To write an article about this person, I suggest you work in your "sandbox" page, User:Storm013/PETER GODWIN. However, before going any further with it, please read the Wikipedia "notability" guide for biographies or the handy summary at WP:42. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:51, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In regards to the message you left on my talkpage:
Please note that I'm not an administrator, and I did not delete the Portal:Peter Godwin page; I merely removed the redlink that led to it, at Portal:Contents/Portals/Culture and the arts. Sorry that you're having a bad day, but please do read what John linked to, above - particularly the WP:42 page, which is quite brief and clear. Thanks. –Quiddity (talk) 17:20, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good Advice[edit]

This is very important to understand. Your comment elsewhere implies a fellow editor is intentionally trying to harm you. It displays a complete misunderstanding of our mutual roles here at Wikipedia. 'Editor Quiddity is not your adversary. He is your fellow editor, fellow collaborator, fellow teacher. He has ONLY the best intentions for the article. That you can be sure of. To continually imply otherwise shows you really don't yet understand the role of your fellow editors. Most times new editors are concerned only with the article (or Portal) they have just created. But, experienced editors like User:Quiddity are more concerned with the Encyclopedia as a whole. I know you are a new user and you hold this article/portal and your edits to it and your word choices and your particular references as precious and you can't bear to see them changed. You have great pride in your work and rightfully so. But saving it in its original form has become a mission. Because you have misunderstood some basic facts, you see experienced editors like Quiditty as having a "cruel hands". That could not be further from the truth. Once you change your opinion of him and what he is doing you will be on the path to a happier Wikipedia career. Nothing here is stable; everything is in a constant state of change. How you accept that fact is always up to you. ```Buster Seven Talk 06:17, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Portal:Peter Godwin, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 02:08, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Storm013. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Portal:Peter Godwin".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Portal:Peter Godwin}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 20:00, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
