Dell FluidFS[edit]

Hi, you created the original lemma on FluidFS. Someone else added two templates in July 2012 complaining about the article not giving context for people not familiar with the subject and also one for notability. I updated and extended the article - and removed the context template as it gives now enough details for people not knowing what a file-system is. However: I'm not a DFFS specialist (at all) so not sure that my additions are all correct. Would appreciate it if you could have a look at the [[Dell Fluid File System|article] and correct any errors. Also have a look at my comments on the talk page. Thanks, Tonkie (talk) 05:20, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Tonkie. Great work on your updates!! I reviewed and updated as best I could. There was some confusion on the reference, and the current generation of Dell FluidFS NAS appliances are not build on leveraged PowerEdge platforms. I've also modified most of the references to DFFS to FluidFS, since this is the general manner in which it is not referred to. Thanks again for the note. Thanks for that. I'm not very well known in this Dell product but last weekend I was on-call (not past weekend, but weekend before) I received a call to support a problem on such a box and couldn't provide it. Nor could my "primary on-call" collegue (I was secondary) so looked on Wiki to see what it exactly was. And as the page was pretty basic I did some investigation and updated/extended the lemma. (I'm also more or less responsible for the Wiki pages on Dell networking (Powerconnect/Force10 and related). I do it on personal title but with approval from Round Rock (Dell HQ in Texas). Ando now will follow this page as well: though won't be as involved as with networking products.

Just out of interest: who are you and what is your link with FluidFS. Best to react via email user as that shouldn't be on public pages. Tonkie (talk) 22:12, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
