Merger[edit]

I do not think that the merger proposal is warranted. Exceptionalism is the theory that the U.S. is qualitatively different from other nations, while Americanism is the belief that the U.S. is better than other nations. While Americanism by definition presupposes that the U.S. is different, so does anti-Americanism. There is sometimes confusion between the two terms, which is dealt with through disambiguation, i.e., by having two separate articles.

If you want to persue the proposal, you need to decide which article should be merged into which and set up a discussion thread in the article you want to keep. If you need help with this, I can help you. You also must open the discussion thread with your reasons for proposing the merger.
