National varieties of English[edit]

Hello. In a recent edit to the page Coronavirus disease 2019, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. Hello.
This is regarding my recent edit to the article titled "Coronavirus disease 2019" that you reverted. All I did was change the spelling of the word "diarrohoea" to "diarrhea" (the spelling of the word that I am used to seeing, and also the way it is "officially" spelled in the wikipedia article on "Diarrhea" ("diarrohoea" is the alternate spelling of the word)). Instead of having your feelings be easily hurt by my trivial edit and having to tell me on my 'Talk' page to "conform by wikipedia's 'Manual of Style' guidelines" (I can't be bothered to read/browse through the 'Manual of Style', just to learn how to properly edit on wikipedia), why not simply revert my edit? I rarely 'Watch' the pages I make edits on, so I wouldn't be annoyed if someone did revert my edits. I do not even know how to find out who the "original author" of an article is. The main purpose of my wikipedia account is to correct improper grammar/spelling for articles that I come across. If an article is obviously written in a different type of English other than American English, I do not edit the spelling of words that are spelled differently in that specific type of English (i.e. color (American spelling) vs colour (British spelling)).

So perhaps I should answer your questions.

You changed a spelling from one form of English to another. There doesn't seem to be a reason why you did that.
You claim there's an "official" spelling of 'diarrhoea'. There isn't. Some people spell it one way, other people spell it differently. We don't let every editor change spellings to how they want because there would be chaos as so many words would get changed back-and-forth to different national varieties of spelling. Surely you can see that isn't sustainable.
I've been editing here for over twelve years and it's going to take a lot more than your newbie mistakes to upset me. You received a standard, templated message (Template:uw-lang), that explains to editors why we respect other editors' contributions, which you failed to do.
You don't have learn the Manual of Style to edit, but you do have to take notice when your mistakes are pointed out to you. So here's another tip: if you're going to be changing spellings, you'd better learn to look at the top of the article first. If you had done that in the edit window for Coronavirus disease 2019, you'd have seen the words "Use Commonwealth English", which were put there so that you didn't have to figure out what variety of English to use. You use Commonwealth English in that article.
Despite what you seem to think, that article was obviously written in a "different type of English other than American English", yet you did "edit the spelling of words that are spelled differently in that specific type of English".
