the reason why[edit]

Just look at what's been going back and forth between me and Biruitorul! It's on my archive #3, under the headings "Fantasy" and "It continues..." and on his under "drama on the high seas" and "LOL". And then look at the admin noiceboard. It was appallingly and unforgivably unprofessional and we probably broke every rule in the book, and now Anonimu is convinced that Biru means to hunt down and kill him. It goes without saying that I've completely ruined Biru's wiki-career--one of my best friends here, and I completely destroyed him! This morning everything looked so promising: Biru was about to run for admin, I was considering an admin run myself, planning new music articles to write and, off-wiki, taking millions of snapshots all around the big city to upload to the wiki when I get back on my own computer. Istvan seemed to be temporarily around again, I hit my first-edit-anniversary a few weeks back and felt like I was finally on my way to being a good, reliable, trustworthy and respected Wikipedian. And then this...my credibility (and my conscience) are shot, Biru's finished, Istvan's probably shaking his head in utter disgust and muttering to himself "What did I ever think was worthwhile about her?" and the larger Wikipedia community has probably filed the name "K. Lastochka" alongside "VinceB", "Willy on Wheels", "Anonymous Scholar" and "the Communism Vandal." And it's entirely my fault. I can't get over what I did to Biru, and how I completely betrayed Istvan and you and everyone else. I don't know how I can forgive myself enough to show my face (er...IP signature?) around here ever again. K. Lásztocska 04:55, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I understand 100%, but please don't get depressive and down on yourself. I watched the whole story develop (actually only the part on your talk page as Biruitorul's is not on my watchlist), and I blame myself for not putting in a little comment saying something like "Let's watch this before it goes too far." Again, I hope to make it clear that I don't want to pressure you into coming back, but I would give up my own Wiki-reputation to save yours and if I can I will. But the only thing I can think to say right now is: It's late. Go to bed, and when you get up in the morning, think the whole thing over with a clear head. It may not be as bad as you think. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  05:07, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just feel so fucking STUPID!! I can't believe I let myself get dragged into something like that. You're right though, it's late, and I've not been getting much sleep lately (also just got back from a heartbreaking production of Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," which probably doesn't help.) I think I'll just go curl up in bed with my new Liszt book and cry myself to sleep while listening to Le jeux d'eaux a la Villa d'Este over and over. God, that sounded melodramatic...K. Lásztocska 05:22, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to see you back. :) It sounds awkward to say this, but I can't really think of anything to say right now that will help, and I don't want to make anything worse; I'll think about it for a while though (I have to go in a few minutes anyway). Remember, we all love you and we'll take turns giving A.S. a run for his euro if you're fine with that. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:49, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Doctor Who[edit]

June 30th. So you'll have to give it until sometime in the first week of July, at the very earliest. Will (talk) 10:33, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could be our Independence Day admin. Not that that means anything to you. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:44, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That would mean you'd nom me on June 27... which is still bad! Please, don't nominate me until four weeks have passed (July 18). Will (talk) 17:55, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was joking, and meant our Independence Day. ;) Dang I wish I lived in a country that was never under the rule of another country! :P Oh, and I'll be gone June 27 anyway. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:56, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For me to be an ID admin, I'd have to be nominated seven days before it :) Will (talk) 17:58, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thanks[edit]

Hi Spring, thanks for your greeting, it's nice to be back! --Kyoko 11:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Cliff :)[edit]

Thanks very much for wishing me happy birthday! I had a great day - well, it could have been better, I spent all day studying for an exam! But let's concentrate on the positives, hmmm? :) My friends got me a great cake, a lot like this one, and since you've been so kind, I saved you a piece. Hope you enjoy it, and the rest of your day :) Riana (talk) 10:15, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good god... a whole Schwarzwälderkirschtorte... eat it slowly? Read it slowly more like :P Thanks again, mate!

As you are an editor involved with the the previous discussion, I am notifying you that I have relisted it for mfd. Thank you. --Flamgirlant 12:05, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thanx...[edit]

...for the star. ;-) I tried to put it in my barnstar gallery on my userpage, but couldn't figure out how to position it right--I'll try again later. Yes, I'm doing OK now. If there's one thing everybody agrees on about me, it's that my mood swings can be pretty ridiculous. ;-) K. Lásztocska 02:24, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Google Talk, zomg[edit]

If you are able to figure out Google's myriads of steps to add people on Google Talk, just make sure you don't ping me between 7pm and 8:30pm BST tommorow - I have more important things to worry about :) Will (talk) 03:11, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ROTFLOL! —  $PЯINGrαgђ  03:12, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, seriously. Doctor Who is like a religious service to me. At 7pm, I prepare, at 7:15, I watch, and it takes me half an hour after that to calm down after an episode normally so I don't go round wiki saying "ZOMG WUT" :P Will (talk) 03:18, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I was laughing at the Googl talk comment. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  03:19, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't joking about that, either. Took Sharon ages to figure it out when she added me. Will (talk) 03:20, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Really? Well, I just clicked "invite" and entered your name…I thought it was pretty simple. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  03:21, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for some reason, I couldn't accept your add until I went into gmail - which is hella confusing since I only tend to use gmail twice a day (using the client and all that). Will (talk) 03:25, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

???[edit]

I really have no idea who you are and why you are so concern about stress of K. Lásztocska, but such stress do not stopping her to propagate Hungarian nationalism with her "friends" as far as I can see... PANONIAN 21:52, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well if I were you I'd look around a little bit and you'll know just who I am. As for Hungarian nationalism—I'm not even Hungarian, and what is wrong with it? You act like being Hungarian is a bad thing. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  21:56, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did not said that you are Hungarian. But problem with Hungarian nationalism is that several nationalist users here in Wikipedia editing articles about neighbouring countries with purpose to prove that these areas should belong to Hungary and I have problems with them for very long time. PANONIAN 22:00, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would believe you, but I would need diffs and such to prove it. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  22:01, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Between you and me, Cliff, check law of the Wiki 148. Will (talk) 22:31, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good news for me! :D —  $PЯINGrαgђ  22:35, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But seriously, quite a few users (especially, those from the Balkans) throw the word "nationalist" around a lot. I tend to class that as a violation of Godwin's Law and a sign the user can be ignored. Will (talk) 22:39, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. That RfA was nasty. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  22:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Very. He went for RfA earlier this year. Still didn't pass. The best editors, and they're opposed at RfA. Will (talk) 23:15, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll say, Riana even got pinged for being too good. What madness. Dfrg.msc 06:52, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My dear Cliff[edit]

Thank you for all that you have done!
How much love resides therein!
All one's gifts are never gone:
Not seen, perhaps, but stored within.
Kindness is an inner sun.

Your unspent heart a message sends
Of grace and sacrifice hard-won
Upon which happiness depends!

Thank you so much, dear Cliff! :)

Love,
Phaedriel

There's no one like you, sweetie. Your have the gift to isntantly cheer me up, and feel better just by seeing your name. And tho I'm sure you're a better as a dad than I'll ever get to be as a mother, your comfort and kindness, as usual, mean the world to me. See you at your mailbox, love :) Hugs, Phaedriel - 11:19, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks[edit]

Thank you for your support and comments at my RfA
Hi Springeragh, It still amazes me that otherwise "anonymous" editors take the time to place !votes and comments on RfAs. Whilst I would have normally thanked you at the time of you leaving your message, the importance of my not appearing to be canvassing prevented me from so doing. Now that everything has progressed successfully I can finally thank you. I intend to uphold a style of good adminship and will welcome your further comments at any time in the future, even if they are in the form of admonishment. I will be happy to help as an admin wherever and whenever I can --VS talk 23:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Email alert! Belated one, in fact, as I wrote to you a few hours ago ;) Love you sweetie! Phaedriel - 16:14, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Curious[edit]

...most interesting ... how did you make this edit?

  • 17:02, 29 June 2007 () () m (I'm back) (top) []

It has no diff, and it's zero bytes. Is this a new feature? I've always wanted to be able to make a null edit, say to put a non-vandal on top of a history without changing anything. Btw welcome back! Antandrus (talk) 17:06, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um, well in the history, it says it was 574 bytes…where did you get that? —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:09, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
From your contribs [1] -- the edit timestamped 17:02 has no diff, no hist, and no page edited. Bizarre. Database glitch? What page did you edit? Antandrus (talk) 17:20, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Strange. I can see it just fine, as
which if you look at the diff was me removing the thing on my banner which said "I'll be gone from June 25 to June 28, have fun without me" or something similar. :/ —  $PЯINGrαgђ  18:19, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Springy[edit]

I'm so sorry I haven't been in contact much lately - exams and other esoteric admin stuff when I'm here means that it's hard to give much time for old friends... I'm a bad person, I know! :( 19 is OK, I haven't had much of a chance to celebrate it apart from last night, when we had a bit of a post-exam breakout at the uni bar :) Now I have 4 weeks of glorious freedom, which I shall probably squander away reading books and editing Wikipedia... should be great :) How are you and the baby doing? By the way, I've been hearing rumours that you have GTalk... my address is wiki.riana@gmail.com, but I haven't received a chat invite from you yet. I'm hurt :P Riana (talk) 03:57, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Come on! You could have told me even before I took Google Mail seriously, eh?!? :P Anyway, yes I do use Google Chat for talking with my Googling friends even though Yahoo is my primary e-mail service. I'll invite you right away though. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  23:42, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move revert[edit]

Hi, I reverted your move of List of piano concertos by key to List of piano concerti by key. The reason for this is as given in Wikipedia's policy on naming conventions (use English): "If a native spelling uses different letters than the most common English spelling (eg, Wien vs. Vienna), only use the native spelling as an article title if it is more commonly used in English than the anglicized form." In this case, I think it's safe to say that 'concertos' is much more commonly used than 'concerti'. However, if you can make a convincing argument against it in this case, I'll acquiesce (particularly because I have no real interest in this specific article!). I realise the original move was made in good faith! Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 21:10, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EndUN Userbox[edit]

Hi, you recently participated in the Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:DieWeisseRose/Userboxes/EndUN discussion. I have reluctantly submitted the closing statement by User:Tony Sidaway for deletion review. Please consider taking a look at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007_July_1#User:DieWeisseRose.2FUserboxes.2FEndUN. Thanks. --DieWeisseRose 02:37, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thalberg[edit]

Rally the Lisztians! A.S. is...being himself on the Thalberg page. He asked for my critique, I gave it to him (at least a preliminary one) and now he's back to snidely "welcoming" me to the field of musicology and determining that Liszt, not Marie d'Agoult, wrote a certain review mainly on the basis that it is "stupid." Anyway, he may be a lost cause, maybe not, but I sure can't figure him out myself. I love how mainstream scholarship is always wrong and only he has discerned The Truth...K. My recent RfB[edit]

Thank you so much for your participation in my recent RfB. Though it closed with 72% support (below the required 90%), I'm still quite pleased at the outpouring of support shown by a fair percentage of the community.

I'm currently tabulating and calculating all opposing and neutral arguments to help me better address the community's concerns about my abilities as a bureaucrat. If you'd like, you can follow my progress (and/or provide additional suggestions) at User:EVula/admin/RfB notes. Thanks again! EVula // talk // // 04:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy 4th of July! :)[edit]

Have a joyous 4th of July, love! :) Hope to see you at Gmail again soon... I'm already missing you :( Love you, Phaedriel - 19:31, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Funny, I just ate one of those... you're psychic, as you recently so "enigmatically" indicated. I'm about to go outside and start carbonizing slabs of dead cows for the next round: tradition here.  :) Happy Fourth and I hope yours is fun too! Antandrus (talk) 21:20, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, happy Fourth to you too. Our national day doesn't come until August 20...but shoot, if you want to get all technical about it, I guess I'm more of an American than a Hungarian anyway. K. Lásztocska 21:55, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ayelie, as I've said befor, you give Sharon a run for her money sometimes, so it's not a surprise you get confused with she who you compete with :) Will (talk) 23:27, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note, Cliff :) The 4th sounds like a lovely time of year for you guys, and I hope you really enjoyed yourself :) The only problem is that I now have cravings for hot dogs and it's not barbeque season :( ~ Riana 22:15, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

4th of July[edit]

Cheers Cliff! We're both very lucky in regards to our countries. I hoped you enjoyed that hot-dog, I'd love a Sausage sandwich, but It's been raining for a solid week now. Life giving waters that bring and end to our drought, but flooding to our farmlands.

Did you or did you not explode some massive fireworks? I hope you did. It's deep winter in Canberra and I want out! Wikipedia is a place of few constants, but you, my friend, are one of them. Cheers! Dfrg.msc 06:48, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would have loved to light fireworks myself but it's illegal in most of Northern California without a permit—which I obviously don't have. So instead I drove 2½ hours to Auburn which is the nearest town with good fireworks (there's a closer town; only about 1½ hours away but their fireworks are pathetic). I didn't get home until past midnight. :| But I had my annual 4th of July grill and I had a hot dog so all's good, eh? ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:18, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I saw this and had to add my story: My grandparents have a sailboat in Petoskey, Michigan, and so we went sailing before the fireworks. Noticing that it was rather foggy, we headed back into the marina, where we waited. Lo and behold, it was still foggy by 10:30, and they set the fireworks off! But no one could see them! And the funny thing is, the fireworks are always good... They owe us a year! >_< Cheers! --tennisman 03:00, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's funny! The fireworks in Auburn were the best by far this year even though in previous years they were getting rather dull (not as pathetic as Grass Valley's though, which is why I drive the extra 45 minutes). I spent most of the night gone splat on the grass with my daughter and no less than four other little kids vying for a place on my lap! It was a blast—quite literally. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  03:41, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Spring, thanks for the greeting and the hot dog! I hope you had a good 4th of July! --Kyoko 09:40, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(Removing indent) <Humor>You have to love going splat. Feels kind of funny (who likes becoming a puddle of goo?) but it always ends well.<Humor> I go splat on the boat, where I can easily be rinsed off. But usually I go splat with a dog, since kids would be rather odd at my age. O_o --tennisman 17:18, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That depends—wouldn't it be funny if you turned out to be right around my age? (Although they were a good friends' kids, not total strangers.) :P —  $PЯINGrαgђ  16:15, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flute[edit]

Thanks for the claification/explanation. Most appreciated. You wouldn't like to try to find a way to add it to the article, would you, so that confused readers like me know what it means? Thanks, Pdfpdf 15:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A question[edit]

(Two questions actually.) There's not meant to be anything deep or meaningful behind this; it's just something I don't understand, and it seems to me like you might be someone who knows the answer.
"Why would anyone want to be an admin?". "Why do you want to be an admin?".
It appears to me that admins get a lot of flack, a lot of grief, and their home-pages get vandalised with monotonous regularity. I just can't see the attraction. Perhaps you can enlighten me?
If you don't want to do it here, you can send me email, or you can just ignore me - the world won't end (and I won't be offended) if you decide you've got better things to do with your time ;-) Cheers, Pdfpdf 16:32, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good question. I probably couldn't answer it now, but I will think about it and get back to you. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  04:03, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm in no hurry for an answer, but I will be interested to read your reply. Cheers, Pdfpdf 08:34, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know a bit but wouldn't claim to be an expert so I'll do what I can. Thanks for the welcome back, it took a while to get over my small dealings with the kangaroo court that Arbcom can be but by sticking to article space and never going near AN/I I'm enjoying wiki editing again and realised having a blank page looked quite rude and unfriendly - especially as I enjoy seeing what others are up to.
