July 2020[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:03, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

- Im not receiving any compensation, im only helping the African art world who needs a platform for their artworks. I totally understand why i was blocked it was due to violation of the Wikipedia policy which I now know better. It will never repeat itself

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations To be unblocked:

  • You must propose a new username that meets the username policy Please post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See to check the availability of usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked.
  • You must confirm that this account is used by one individual only.
  • You must agree to avoid creating or directly editing pages related to your organisation (requested edits will still be permitted).
  • You must agree to not link to your organization's website.
  • You must agree to abide by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and disclose any paid relationship in accordance with the paid contributor policy.
(Please read and heed WP:COI and WP:PAID).
  • You must indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future.

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organization, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.

(Any other admin should feel free to amend these conditions or unblock at their discretion.) GeneralNotability (talk) 14:54, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again.
