Estonia

Hi, thanks for your wikipedia contributions. I reverted your edit on the nordic countries because the estonian topic is very different from latvia and lithuania. Estonians are finnic people not baltic, and the estonian government is defining the country as a nordic country. There is content on this on the talk page and on the Nordic Estonia page. On the Wiki article, it is not claimed that estonia is officially a nordic country - it is just mentioning the integration activities which are very relevant to this article. The estonian government says that the country is nordic and estonia also shares common history with the other nordic countries. Currently there is a public debate in estonia over using the cross flag. A most exact way would be to define estonia as a Finnic country but there is no page for this on wikipedia JonSonberg (talk) 15:14, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

estonia IS NOT a Nordic country! Why is there the confusing map? Estonia is Baltic country. There is ONE estonia who is obsessed od E. being in Nordic. This is ridiculou. Article consist of biased statements and irrelevant facts!

Wikipedia is not about personal opinions. your opinion of your e.being nordic is your personal opinion.My section will be sourced, I will add them soon.

The section is not claiming that estonia is officially nordic. It is not "my opinion", I'm protecting sourced, official, referenced content. The section is referencing (sourcing) how estonia is defining itself as a nordic country. This is correct and belongs to the "nordic countries" article. The entire "nordic countries" page does not list estonia anywhere else. This is already a good balance.

PS: what is the "official" definition of a nordic country? If you look into it, you will see that there is no one specific definition. The most common would be: Light skinned, blonde people from highly developed rich northern european countries that speak germanic or finnic (or sami) languages. Nordic countries have a higly-developed civil society and high levels of innovation. Estonia also matches that description. JonSonberg (talk) 23:06, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

PPS: the estonian people have always (thousands of years?) said that they are nordic. The word is "põhjamaalased" . The same word is used by the finns, "pohjoismaalaiset". This is nothing new. It has been called "baltic" because it was occupied by soviet union together with LV and LT. My personal opinion is that Estonia is the only nordic country that was occupied by the soviet union, but I am not writing that in Wikipedia because there is no source to this claim. There is no such "definition". Finland is nordic as it has now 2 languages. In 19th century it had 1 language only: that was Swedish. You are trying to make some good business using Nordic i.e Scandinavian i.e North Germanic brand. Be proud of your Uralic tongue. Do no try to steal anything from the others. Skilsmissebørn
