Regarding your recent edits on List of Pokémon anime characters[edit]
I just wanted to make you aware that your edits were reverted, but within reason: there is an active effort to clean up the character list to the most notable characters and then trying to improve the list to high quality from there. While your edits were in good faith they ran pretty contrary to that, as there was reason to remove that looking at the edit history. Pokelego as is has been actively trying to fix Pokemon-related articles across the board.
If you feel certain characters should still have a summary or be summarized on the page, please consider bringing it up on the talk page instead perhaps? Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:43, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
- To be honest, I don't find Pokelego's work all that impressive. I re-added all the recurring and notable characters (specifically villains, Gym Leaders, Battle Facilities and Elite Four) as they originated from the games (apart from the Orange Island Gym Leaders) and appeared in the anime, since it feels like the series is missing several parts. Also, there are numerous grammatical errors, sentence fragments (e.g., look at Stephan and Hau's profiles and tell me if this is the correct sentence structure) and typos I came across on Pokelego's version, hence why I had to fix it up. Some of the character profiles had to be expanded because there are additional roles beyond what's mentioned (e.g., Pokelego's profile on Flint felt like he's a one-off character when he clearly isn't, Korrina's profile does not mention her giving Ash a Mega Glove and help Ash got to Mega Island for a Lucarionite even though it was to help Ash reach and defeat Leon).
- Whether minor characters or not, game based or not, I think that the characters (specifically villains, Gym Leaders, Battle Facilities and Elite Four) should have been kept as they are significant characters. Showmewhoyouare (talk) 02:33, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
- Several of the messy bits are due to edits and re-additions by other editors I haven't gotten around to going through yet. I actually had rewritten Flint entirely, but that got undone somehow. Several of the rivals mentioned were ones re-added I hadn't gotten around to going through, and I intend to get on that when I can. Most Leaders, Facility Members, and E4 are also minor characters for the most part, with the vast majority only showing up for at most a few episodes in an overall over one thousand episode long show, with most barely having a role beyond being to be beaten by Ash to get a Badge. - Sorry for the unecessary addins. I usually use Bulbapedia as it's the only reliable source, since they mention character roles in detail.
