Children of Dune

I've reverted your new addition to the Children of Dune because, as well-written as it is, that kind of unsourced analysis is considered original research. As editors we are not allowed to draw conclusions or contrast works this way. If you can find a reliable outside source which makes these points, by all means paraphrase or quote them and provide references (I can help you with the technical aspects of this if you need assistance). I'm sure you've forgotten by now, but you re-edited some original-opinion-type contextual comments I added to the CHILDREN OF DUNE page, and left me a note about it.

I just wanted tot hank you for taking the trouble to let me know; I'm new to Wikipedia, and since I have strongly-held (and, i flatter myself, well-reasoned) opinions about my favorite fiction, it's better to learn what's OK and not OK sooner rather than later.

So thanks again.

It's a little sad, though - I'm sure that it's for the best, but it does feel like the proscription of "original research" prohibits some really wonderful critical reflection, especially when it comes to works of fiction or other imaginative work. Not complaining, just pondering.

Thanks for the message; I certainly didn't object to the content or quality of your work. And of course, a less-strict member of the "Dune police" basically put it back with a "needs sources" message (an I didn't object). I could've done the same, but I don't know that any references will surface, and ultimately unsourced material has to go.

It is indeed a little annoying in many cases that "original" critical analysis has no place here, but that's just not what Wikipedia is. Sorry about that. It was a careless on my part. You did nothing wrong, and I appreciate that edit:-) I'm mainly a vandal fighter, and I use a tools called Huggle. What happened was I saw vandalism, and hit the revert button, but it switched to your version right before I hit the revert button, and it reverted your version instead. Ludwig II of Bavaria

Thanks for your work on Ludwig II of Bavaria; some of it looks pretty good. However, two sections, Ludwig II of Bavaria#Ludwig’s castles and Ludwig II of Bavaria#Buildings, are still a little repetitive and should be merged further, and parts of Buildings, especially Linderhof, were left in a bad state through the cutting and pasting. I'm not sure of everything you did and what you wanted so I am hesitant to make any major changes. The 48 hours is for Wikipedia, on Commons its longer. A license is missing: As a 1945 photo this is not public domain in any case, the copyright term is 70 years following the photographers death, so minimum 70 years.
