Oh the irony[edit]

You helped close a discussion about closing discussions. I know from your earlier comments and actions that you won't understand how bad that is. I can move on. I just hope that one day you and others like you with such closed perspectives can too. Good luck to you. I genuinely wish you well. HiLo48 (talk) 05:59, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
For the quick work on the Art Baker article. That would have taken me a week. Noformation Talk 06:21, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Hatchet helps sometimes. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 06:56, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Erich von Däniken[edit]

I meant to thank you for this edit [1]. I'd missed that. I don't see BLP problems but an IP removed the material again and brought it to WP:BLPN. I think the IP and the main editor involved don't understand our policies here, eg the edit summary "Even if such nonsense should really be mentioned in a "book" published by Oxford University Press, it would rather appear appropriate to protest against such a publication than to quote it on Wikipedia." If you think there are BLP issues please chime in at BLPN. Dougweller (talk) 08:29, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I had no choice...[edit]

It was a lose-lose situation that AndyTheGrump requested of me. He would have grounds to call all of my arguments and evidence at the Talk:East Germany article as being part of an alleged "hypocricy" by me to only address East Germany and not Israel. I have my opinions on Israel's relations with the United States - I might be totally wrong, but from what I have viewed, I would regard Israel as, at least historically, being a client state of the United States. However, I told Andy that it would be a waste of time to address it - it extremely controversial to title a present-day state that is in constant political and economic flux a client state - less controversial for a historical state that has ended and has vast material on the subject. I also was reluctant to do it because I was concerned that strong-POV Palestininan and Arab users would arrive on the page in support of the claim that it is a satellite state and thus starting a vicious edit war based on ethnic tensions. It was lose-lose, I will fully support you in a proposal to immediately shut down the discussion if an edit war erupts between Israeli and Jewish versus Palestinian and Arab users over the issue, and you have the right to blame me and AndyTheGrump for it having been started.--R-41 (talk) 21:36, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

you always have a choice. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 21:39, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Look, I am truly sorry for the issue - it was a serious dispute that arose at Talk:East Germany, so okay you are correct I had a choice - out of two bad choices - first choice: address it and get people like you angry at me; second choice: not address it and be called a "hypocrite" and a "liar" and ruin similar arguments being made by other users who were being accused of supporting "Western propaganda" against the East. As I said I knew it would go nowhere and I'm glad it's over, sorry for this, issue resolved, discussion over.--R-41 (talk) 21:52, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, don't roll in agony; it's wikipedia, not Judgement Day. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 21:55, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Would you care to elaborate on this comment? After all it is a rather serious insult to all editors involved. --Saddhiyama (talk) 13:54, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I'll do that. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 13:55, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
