VFD[edit]

I often forget, mind you. I just happen to keep an eye on them right now. Thanks for the friendly words anyway. It's always nice to be appreciated. - Mgm|(talk) 19:29, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)

Pearson[edit]

Sorry if I sound annoyed. I'm not. But I do try to explain myself for each edit using the limited space allotted, which often leads to very terse comments. I appreciate your work on Pearson and hope you don't mind if I do alter your work from time to time. HistoryBA 19:39, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Admin vote[edit]

Scimitar, thank you for the vote of confidence - I hope that I can live up to the high standards set by the many great admins we have today. --FCYTravis 23:30, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Nate[edit]

I fixed up the Nate article.-LtNOWIS 00:31, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

You said that the article was didn't "fit any speedy criteria I know of" and was "just an example of the sort of vanity we wish we could speedy". There is a hypothetical criterion currently being studied under which that article would have qualified. See User:Uncle G/Proposal to expand WP:CSD/Unsourced biographies. The (unfinished) study is on the talk page. Uncle G 16:28, 2005 Jun 26 (UTC)

my rfa[edit]

Hello, I know this is a bit late, but I just wanted to say, thanks for participating! You (Talk) 17:59, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)

Possible RfA[edit]

Thanks for considering me as an admin nomination. If you choose to nominate, I will gladly accept. In the interest of reasonable full disclosure, I'll point out that I've only been here since January. I'm not sure what the normal timeframe is before adminship, but I suspect that's on the shorter side. Still, it can't hurt to try, and it will be interesting to know what the community thinks of me. :) Andrew Lenahan - Starblind June 29, 2005 17:17 (UTC)

Pomposity etc[edit]

Hi. I had in fact already slightly changed my vote. I am afraid that I still think that the article should be deleted, as it has no potential for growth beyond what is there. Sorry, but thanks for the note. All the best, smoddy 30 June 2005 22:33 (UTC)

Support on FAC[edit]

Thanks for your support on both the peer review and FAC voting on IFK Göteborg, I really appreciate it! -- Elisson | Talk 1 July 2005 17:02 (UTC)

RFA for Harro5[edit]

Hello. I see you recently voted in the Request for adminship for Harro5 here. Please note that you voted in his previous request that ended on June 2. The current request can be found here. You may want to add your vote to the current request, which ends on July 8. Please do not take this message as my campaigning in any way. I just want to make sure that you were aware that your vote was not in the active discussion for his adminship. -- JamesTeterenko 5 July 2005 00:35 (UTC)

Tuamotu stubs[edit]

Please note, the correct stub class for islands in Polynesia is Oceania-geo-stub, also, please add categories to such articles. See my edits. Any questions, please ask!  :-) Tomer TALK July 5, 2005 02:02 (UTC)

CSD Proposal 3-B[edit]

You voted or commented on Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion/Proposal/3-B or Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion/Proposal/3-A or both. I have proposed a revised version, at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion/Proposal/3-C. This version is intended to address objections made by many of those oppsoed to 3-A or 3-B. The revised propsal refers explicitly and directly to the criteria at WP:MUSIC. If you have not already done so, please examine the revised proposal and vote on it also. Thank you. DES 6 July 2005 06:04 (UTC)

Thank you for closing this VfD, however the vote was on multiple articles and every article in Category:New Testament chapters also has a vfd header. Normally I would just remove these, but I am fairly closely involved in this particular debate. - SimonP July 6, 2005 23:57 (UTC)

RE: USS Missouri (BB-63)[edit]

I have included two references, which is an expansion for the reference section. Unfortunatly, most referencing material for the Missouri is going to pertian to its combat action or deal with Missouri as a member of its class, so expanding that section to include references to only the Missouri is a little tricky. TomStar81 7 July 2005 02:34 (UTC)

Agnes Phillips[edit]

Hi Brookie here - you tagged the above vfd - but didn't finish it off - which I have done for you - can you go to Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Agnes_Phillips and mark your reasoons for the vote? Thanks A curate's egg 7 July 2005 15:01 (UTC)

Copyvios[edit]

Hello. Thanks for helping out by placing copyvio tags on violating articles. However, please note that when you place a copyvio notice, you should also completely remove the rest of the article's content (except for any templates such as VfD). Thanks again! --ArmadniGeneral 7 July 2005 17:16 (UTC)

Pottsville High School VfD[edit]

I noticed your keep vote and copyvio concerns at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Pottsville High School. It is in fact a copy-vio, and I wonder if you want to change your vote. If the article is cleaned up, I will change my vote to reflect that, as the copyvio will no longer apply. --Scimitar 7 July 2005 18:51 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I suggest you tag it as a copyio and list it on WP:CP. I'll start a rewrite on the temp page as is usual with copyvios. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 7 July 2005 18:58 (UTC)
I have rewritten the article as a stub and the copyvio has been removed. Bahn Mi 20:21, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WMC RFA & the 3RR[edit]

I'm not challenging your vote, but I did want to provide some clarification. The 3rr violations (there were 2 of them, iirc) were 4 reverts in ~23 hours. Accepted the punishment, but commented that his time setting on Wikipedia was an hour off, so he thought he was safe. You could critices this as gaming the system, of course, and I have noticed that some admins have started blocking for that sort of behaviour, but I believe that William violated the 3rr mistakenly. You are still free to oppose, but I thought you might want to know that there are mitigating circumstances, after a fashion. I can dig out the diffs if you want. Guettarda 7 July 2005 22:31 (UTC)

I too do not challenge your vote. But honesty compells me to confess that there were more than 2 bans. All of them were mistakes - I had no intention of breaking the ban which (as I said) I strongly support. At the moment I'm on a 1RR restriction (hmpf mumpf... but no violations so far). The longest edit war, and source of most of the bans, was over at greenhouse effect, and (though the edit war was unedifying) I'll point out that my "opponent" got a ban from editing the article and the arbcomm decided that my version was correct. William M. Connolley 2005-07-07 22:50:50 (UTC).

Congratulations[edit]

Thank you for your kind words. I note, with mild concern, that you are now trying to hide the fact that you are a baboon. —Theo (Talk) 8 July 2005 22:15 (UTC)

Please don't go! Take a break instead. There are indeed some very unpleasant people here—people that I imagine socialise little and have little awareness of human (or even simian) responses. But there are some great people too (it would be invidious to list names because that diminishes those omitted by oversight) and we are building something wonderful. —Theo (Talk) 8 July 2005 22:24 (UTC)

verses[edit]

Please note that Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Individual Bible verses is a VfD and not a poll. If you vote "merge" it will only be interpreted as a vote to merge, rather than agreement with the merge outlined, which would require a vote of "merge per above" or "merge per Uncle G".

If you change your vote from "Keep" to "Merge", I can assure you that it will not be interpreted as being a vote for Uncle G's proposal, but rather simply a vote to merge in some as yet not discussed manner.

Further, please note that the VfD does not concern verses such as John 3:16, and Jesus wept, which are notable in their own right. ~~~~ 9 July 2005 17:12 (UTC)

Krimini[edit]

Good point. I was too hasty - Skysmith 9 July 2005 18:33 (UTC)

  • In fact, I just occasinally remove obvious gibberish. Now there seems to be a sudden influx of indie bands I know absolutely nothing about... - Skysmith 9 July 2005 18:41 (UTC)

Wikibreak not[edit]

Not much of a break, indeed! I trust that you are suitably refreshed. —Theo (Talk) 22:23, 9 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Agorami VfD[edit]

Thanks for the follow-up, but no, I didn't take your comments as harsh. I understand that there is a range of opinion on what Wikipedia should and should not consider "notable", so I don't take it personally.

Happy editing -Harmil 21:40, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've just listed Military history of Canada on Peer review with hopes of eventually elevating it to a featured article. I know you have done some work on this article and have contributed a great deal in this area, including the recently featured Isaac Brock. Any input you might have would be much appreciated. - SimonP 00:47, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

I noticed your comments on the PKK talk page. I'm currently attempting to correct grammatic and POV errors in the text, and have provided a diff on the talk page showing an initial series of edits. If you'd take a look at it, I would appreciate it.--Scimitar 19:21, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I am currently on vacation so I do not know how much well of a response I may come up with. In about a week, I will deffinately give a complete response. Just dont give up on me :) --Cool Cat My Talk 15:16, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, well, I'll probably get started on more edits then, and hopefully I won't muck things up to badly! If you have any problems with the changes I make, I'm more than ready to discuss them.--Scimitar 15:46, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. --Cool Cat My Talk 15:50, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

See my comments on Talk:Kurdistan Workers Party. The sections you've reworked recently could be the beginning of a new draft of the article, which I think is necessary. (Unless or until that happens, I'm not going to make any contributions, because, when the article as a whole is so unbalanced, badly structured etc, I feel it's better to leave the article obviously appalling than to hide some of its appallingness by tidying it up and NPOVing sections.) Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion/Proposal/3-C[edit]

Hello! Sorry to bother you, but since you voted on the earlier CSD proposal about unremarkable bands, it would be appreciated if you cast your vote for this version. It has been reworded to address concerns raised against the earlier wording. Please take a look at it and consider if you support or oppose it. Yours, Radiant_>|< 08:26, July 15, 2005 (UTC)

GNAA article[edit]

It appears that I am being reverted somewhat senselessly. However, in the interests of fair play I would like to ask whether you think my my additions to the article are relevant, neutral and informative. Am I being unreasonable to add this material? Chocolateboy has added very little the talk page, and appears to have "camped" on the article, and not let anyone else contribute to it. I would very much appreciate your feedback! - Ta bu shi da yu 11:44, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Raw data[edit]

Thanks for your remarks. And helping to fix the document.

The raw data, is not easy to find. That is what makes this wikipedia as a PEDIA. It hurts when someone deletes the information that I spend hours to gather and verify.

Please do not delete the RAW data. Fix the sentence. Fix the flow, but please, please do not DELETE.

NO one is paying me to gather this information. I'm using my freetime. Only thing motivates me about this page is that it will have correct dates and information regarding this issue. I have seen people changing the facts so that they can propagade their agenda. That is the main reason raw data is important.

Alec Guinness[edit]

Could a source be found for the arrest in 1948 for cottaging though? That's what I was referring to, not the actor's debated sexual orientation. -- Francs2000 | Talk 19:00, 19 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
