Hi SamuelinNairobi. You recently made edits to Uhuru Kenyatta's alma mater to Amherst College. I wish to challenge this edit. While it is cited in an article on the Amherst College website [1] that Uhuru is an alumnus, there is a common confusion between Amherst College, a small private liberal arts college, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a large public research university. On his linkedin profile[2] and the official verified Uhuru Kenyatta facebook page[3], he cites the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as his alma mater.

Uhuru Kenyatta Alma Mater[edit]

I wish to disagree and insist that Uhuru Kenyatta attended Amherst College rather than UMass. Uhuru Kenyatta's facebook page is run by his campaign media team who may have mistaken the two institutions. However, the institutions cannot make errors as to who attended their universities. Whereas the University of Massachusetts does not mention Uhuru (a president) as an alumni, Amherst College has several references to this. [4] [5] [6] Several reliable media outlets further hold that he is an alumnus of Amherst College. [7] [8] [9]The official government website of the Kenya Presidency also states that he studied at the college. [10] SamuelinNairobi (talk) 07:35, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
