ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

Hi. Thanks for your note - what happened here is that I initially typed out an explanation for my "Word Is Out" edit, but it was accidentally lost when I hit the back button. I have now reinstated the edit with an explanation included. Thanks

Hello!

More Sakura for you!
I just wanted to stop by, and say that I love the aesthetics of your signature and talk — the flower at the bottom right is particularly neat! — The Most Comfortable Chair 14:07, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
😊 thank you very much for the gift it i really made me happy; and i love cherry blossom 🌸; also thank you for dropping this message it reminded me of happy timings that i spent here on Wikipedia, when i was still healthy both in mind and body. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 16:36, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
Cherry blossoms are beautiful indeed. I went through a particularly rough phase recently and experienced things I never thought I would have to. I am still not over all that I suppose — well, clearly not since I am rambling about that here! I know that everyone's struggle is distinct but I understand how it feels when you are depressed, and I truly hope that things get better at your end. Until then, know that you are never alone — you can always email this perfect stranger, should you want to talk :) — The Most Comfortable Chair 03:46, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
@The Most Comfortable Chair: 🌸 thank you, because of depression i couldn't enjoy wikipedia as much as i did before, i lost the vitality that i had before; it prevented me to fully do my activities here, i had to do them queitly and as gentle as possible with myself, otherwise i couldn't concentrate and the headache hunted me down everywhere that i went.
thank you for your kind reply i really appreciate it. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 10:09, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
I recognize how difficult everyday life is when you go through that. Editing Wikipedia has always been personally gratifying and it gives me a lot of joy. When I was at my lowest, I lost all interest and motivation to do anything on here, and with hobbies that I have in real life. How has it been with you lately? By the way, it is awesome how you use cherry blossoms in your messages! You taught me a lovely new thing — sunflowers are my favorite 🌻 — The Most Comfortable Chair 22:23, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
@The Most Comfortable Chair: 😊 yes life is tough especially when you don't have much support or not surrounded with people who have understand/care/love/friendship for you, you have to be your everything, editing Wikipedia is fun and joyful you feel the freedom that wikipedia gives, plus this big community is fun to work with, it's a pity that i can't do as much as i did before for now but let's try our best to overcome the hardships, lately i am moody i have mood swings what about you?, cherry blossom is my symbol, 😊 you found your flower? happy to see that. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 22:33, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
I completely understand. I say this to people around me — "if I could edit Wikipedia full-time, I absolutely would!" It is an extraordinary community with extraordinary individuals. You too are extraordinary, and the way you have incorporated cherry blossoms within your Wikipedia world is uniquely marvelous! I learnt that you can now use emojis on Wikipedia! Sunflowers have always been my favorite flower — there are a few dozen sunflower-themed things at my place. My symbol, I suppose would be 🛋 — The Most Comfortable Chair 23:43, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
@The Most Comfortable Chair: sorry for the late reply, you're right i totally agree, thank you for the compliment idk what to say i put my gratitude in this word then "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", yes we can use emojis in Wikipedia since i saved them on here to use them as fast as possible, happy for you then use sunflower displayed on your talk page like i did (my cherry blossom follows you whenever you scroll). —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 18:46, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
I thought of you when I came across this painting!
I am one-upping you in the "late replies" department! Real life has been insanely busy lately. I found this gorgeous painting with cherry blossoms that look like pastel pink clouds and it made my day — I wanted to share it with you! — The Most Comfortable Chair 05:36, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
thank you indeed cherry blossom is beautiful. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 15:46, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion

Hello, Sakura_emad,

Please do not tag any more pages for speedy deletion until you understand that criteria better because you are not tagging pages correctly. And please do not tag A LOT of pages over a short period of time or you are causing work for other editors to undo your mistakes. Please review WP:CSD thoroughly so you understand what criteria apply, what namespaces they apply to, and when it is more appropriate to use PROD or AFD/MRD/CFD/RFD/etc. CSD G6 is not a "catch-all" criteria that you can apply to pages that you don't think are useful. We typically do not delete User space pages unless they have problematic content, they are expiring drafts (with an AFC tag) or they have gone through the MFD process.

If you have questions about Wikipedia's deletion processes, including speedy deletion, please bring them to the Teahouse. And please do not tag a lot of pages for deletion until you are more familiar with the criteria. It might be a good idea for you to spend time looking over the CSD categories which you can find at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion so you can see what kind of pages editors more experienced with CSD are tagging. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:21, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

hi @Liz-san, it's a General criteria, which means it applies to everywhere, and some of the pages were created by new users mostly students on IP user pages not Registered user pages. most of my requests were proceed by other admins, and i reassure you that i already read Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. just because you delete Problematic user pages doesn't mean my request were invalid. and this is English Wikipedia with almost 300 active admins, if you don't want to deal with my requests others might be able to deal with them. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 18:37, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Reversion on the page of Urvashi Chaudhary

Hello, I am 1OA9, I am a bit new on Wikipedia. However, currently, I am focusing on cleanups and removal of unreliable sources from different articles. While developing my understanding of Wikipedia and reading new polices. I sometimes add information, where I am certain, that it is in accordance to Wikipedia policies. Excluding the initial policy pages like General Notability, Reliable sources, and WP:RSP etc. I also follow User:Kuru/fakesources#Blacklisted sites for my clean ups.

You have reverted my edits on Urvashi Chaudhary, which I don't understand why? From your comment on my talk page, I am led to believe, there has been a misunderstanding as, I had to remove a lot of content. It is my opinion, (Correct me if I am wrong), that while doing a cleanup, we don't have to provide any sources. We are allowed to leave the page with a tag for the other editors.

As stated earlier, I am focusing on cleanups, and adding information/citation, is not a priority task for me right now, as I don't think that I have enough grip on adding. Currently, I am reading Wikipedia:Writing better articles, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Titles of works, and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view - Wikipedia. I wish to make addition of information/citations my priority, once I have completely understood them.

If you think, I am in the right course of action, then I would like to repeat/revert my cleanup on Urvashi Chaudhary's page, if you think I am not, kindly, advise me in this regard. I would be very grateful for you help. Thank you. 1OA9 (talk) 16:13, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

@1OA9 Thanks for the service and welcome to wikipedia, sorry for the inconvenience i was busy patrolling recent changes, it seems you're learning how the Encyclopædia works and working professionally on it, after checking the sources i see you have a point. i've reverted my edit. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 16:25, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

Harassment?

Someone apparently doesn't like you. I just blocked an IP for 3 months that reported you to AIV and tried to frame you for sockpuppetry. If you have any problems with harassment, either drop me a line or alert another admin. -Ad Orientem (talk) 14:34, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

the harassment is just not normal, apparently they do this to me on several wikimedia projects, and i will inform you thanks alot. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 14:59, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Bot

You should be aware that someone is using your name on their vandalbot. See Sakura emabot. – bradv 15:41, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

@Bradv: it's more than a month or so, i receive all kinds of cyberbullying: this includes but not limits to: death threats, sexual harassment, defamation, name calling and so on. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 16:55, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

I'm sorry to hear that. If you need assistance dealing with this abuse you can try emailing ArbCom. They may be able to help. – bradv 17:11, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

@Bradv: if it was on Enwiki alone sure Arbcom could suffice and ease the situation, but it's out of line and they do to me on multiple projects. notably: on enwiki, commons, among others. —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 17:23, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – June 2023

News and updates for administrators from the past month (May 2023).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
  • As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.

Technical news

  • Bot operators and tool maintainers should schedule time in the coming months to test and update their tools for the effects of IP masking. IP masking will not be deployed to any content wiki until at least October 2023 and is unlikely to be deployed to the English Wikipedia until some time in 2024.

Arbitration

  • The arbitration case World War II and the history of Jews in Poland has been closed. The topic area of Polish history during World War II (1933-1945) and the history of Jews in Poland is subject to a "reliable source consensus-required" contentious topic restriction.
