Yes, just spotted those dodgy ref placements earlier. I've left a message on the user page of the person who did them, suggesting a little read of WP:FOOT. --Oscarthecat 16:44, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies[edit]

I wished to offer my apologies, I was not trying to humiliate you (nor any one else) on the talk-page about "Category: 2007_deaths". I know that there is always a lot to learn about Wikipedia, and I know that I have much to learn myself!ACEOREVIVED 19:03, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A goddess descends to your talk page

Hi, I noticed your username appears on this category and would like to invite you to take part in a general improvement drive on all articles relevant to Oh My Goddess! including character articles, episode articles and others. -- Cat chi? 21:43, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Answering the call[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that I got your message, and I would like to help. I'm more of a grammatical "cleaner" who fixes writing errors, but I'm willing to take a look at the articles and see what I can do within the confines of my free time (which isn't much, but I'll do what I can). talk toSailorAlphaCentauri 17:21, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, any help is most appreciated. If you could add citations as well as spelling and grammar corrections this would be most helpful. -- Cat chi? 18:39, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

hi[edit]

*poked back* You seem to be facebook user :) Me been working hard.. They say wikipedia is encyclopedia as well as almanac. here. So those which are not articles should be named as list i think. That article is high traffic one, so it will take time for such decisions. Thanks, Lara_bran 04:14, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bil Keane article[edit]

Concerning a section in the Keane article about McGruder, I think it's mostly non-notable. The dispute between Keane and McGruder was actually the other way around -- McGruder criticized Keane and Mort Walker and a host of others in a New Yorker article in 2004. McGruder complained about a joke made by Bil Keane while Keane was emceeing the Reuben Awards banquet. The emcee at the cartoonist banquet always 'roasts' the attendees, but McGruder took a joke about diversity in comics personally. I don't think it is an issue about Keane. On the other hand, I do think the New Yorker article is a great reference source for the article about Aaron McGruder. I am a bit surprised that it hasn't been used there. CactusWriter 22:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you that the Aaron McGruder article needs to be modernized a bit. As far as his controversy with other cartoonists, I think McGruder felt antagonistic toward the 'old guard' of the cartoonists community -- who were mostly elderly, white, conservative guys like Keane, Walker, Hart, Schulz, Lazarus, etc. -- and he reacted accordingly. (Which is actually a fairly common reaction among young cartoonists trying to find a rare break in a very, very limited market space like newspaper comics. Watterson, Breathed, Trudeau all had similar run-ins with the older established guys.) I had also heard that McGruder criticized the earlier African-American cartoonists like Morrie Turner -- although, as far as I know, Turner never reacted to it. But, I do think the AV club article you found is interesting. It shows McGruder in a much better light -- and probably indicates the natural differences between the thoughts and reactions of a inexperienced 26-year-old back in 2000, and a more mature 34-year-old now. Stub sorting[edit]

Please don't use the {{Stub}} tag if you can find a more specific stub tag; stub sort whenever you are able. To do otherwise will backlog Category:Stubs. Thank you. (I realize some people aren't able to stub sort very well due to issues surrounding memory or feeling overwhelmed by the unfortunately long list of stub types; sorry if you're one of them). -- I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 06:13, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for providing the link the stub types, I dream of horses. It was not my intention to further swamp the Category:Stubs, but it has been tricky finding all of the resources needed to add the correct tags and labels to the articles that so desperately need them. I will be able to add the correct stub type in the future, and I'll try to go back to the articles where I can change the stub I added. Sometimes the end is only the beginning...
