Automated message to bot owners[edit]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 04:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NBA players?[edit]

Why are you adding the Wikipedia:WikiProject College Basketball template to players who are currently playing at the professional level? Let me know if there is some reason not to revert the tagging of NBA players as WP:WPCBB. — CharlotteWebb 02:55, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know it is accurate to tag all players who have played in college, regardless of if they went on to the pro's or not. That's what we do for the college football Wikiproject at least. You may want to re-tag them all. VegaDark 01:55, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Random assignment of non-basketball people[edit]

On 02/27/2007 this bot marked Tony Bui with the Wikipedia:WikiProject College Basketball template. Tony Bui has nothing to do with basketball. Not sure how this happened, so I reverted the change. Minh T. Nguyen 22:04, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not change the contents of archives. The text should be preserved as it was when it was written, regardless of non-Unicode characters or IP addresses. —Centrxtalk • 02:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any discussion or approval regarding this? —Centrxtalk • 02:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barbara Broccoli[edit]

I think the bot needs to be checked, as it added Barbara Broccoli to the WikiProject. Barbara is the producer of the James Bond movies and has nothing to do with basketball. 23skidoo 19:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AWB[edit]

Hi, I noticed that this bot hasn't used AWB for a considerable amount of time. If you still have plans to use it, please let us know so that we could remove unneeded bots from the check page. Cheers, MaxSem(Han shot first!) 18:24, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
