Flagging Anthony (editor) for further review[edit]

Hello, Sachein91 … I recently encountered the article about Anthony (editor) and in my opinion, it either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it violates a copyright.

I am considering tagging Anthony (editor) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for deletion according to the Deletion policy … I do not have time to examine the article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

I have created this initial entry on your Talk page because you are either the original author of the article, or else a recent contributor to it; I will leave more detailed information regarding my specific concerns about the article on its Discussion page … please respond either there or on this Talk page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.

Be sure to read Ownership of articles, and remember that Some Other Editors (including at least one administrator) may not share your opinion about the notability of the article's subject.

I do not mean to imply that your contribution is unappreciated … perhaps you should read Your first article … and remember, there was a time when I knew less about how Wikipedia works than you know right now.

To better understand why I have used this template, please read Flag templates for deletion warnings ... I realize that some of the expressed possible concerns may not be appropriate in this case. — triwbe (talk) 12:31, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nirvanix[edit]

Thanks for reverting vandalism. Unfortunately Nirvanix was blanked again a few minutes later by Yellowdude89 who is a suspected sock puppet and if so, 3RR violator.

After giving up on blanking the page they nominated it for deletion on the grounds that the (well referenced) information was slanderous and manipulated. Refer to the AfD debate if you want to contribute.

AfD nomination of Anthony (editor)[edit]

I have nominated Anthony (editor), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthony (editor). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? triwbe (talk) 19:40, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good work[edit]

Keep up your good work on Tamil cinema! Awesome stuff! Universal Hero (talk) 21:06, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey if possible, can you begin to develop articles to a GA standard. Maybe take a film of your choice and develop it as done with Unnale Unnale or Santosh Subramaniam. Thanks. RSAP. Universal Hero (talk) 21:50, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your message[edit]

Hello. Sorry mate, I am not an administrator to perform those actions. Don't worry, those images shall be deleted by one soon. However, please be very careful when you are uploading images onto Wikipedia. If you need help in knowing how it needs to be done, let me know on my talk page and I shall help you upload it correctly. Deal? :) Mspraveen (talk) 10:14, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively, you can paste {{db-g7|rationale=reason why you want the image to be deleted}} on top of all the images you have uploaded so far. For your image uploads, visit this page. Hope this helps. Mspraveen (talk) 10:19, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Film stubs[edit]

Hi. I notice you're creating an awful lot of film stubs. Whilst it's nice to see contributions, please note that articles about films still need to satisfy basic notability criteria, which can be found here: WP:NF. Articles which don't meet these basic standards are liable to be marked for deletion. CultureDrone (talk) 13:14, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It depends what you mean by "sourcing". IMDB (for example) can prove that the film exists, but not that it's notable, which is the main issue. What you need to do is provide third-party references - reviews of the films from well known newspapers/journals, major awards won etc. - all this is outlined in the WP:NF article above. (I have to admit that this is sort of against you, as I doubt many Tamil-language films get heavy coverage in the English speaking world). If that's what you mean by "sourcing" and can do it for these articles, then I suggest you temporarily tag the pages as under construction to prevent deletion - though this is only effective for about a week. Re: Singam[edit]

Proposed deletion of Singam (film)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Singam (film), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 21:41, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have improved a little bit of the film Singam. Does it still have to be deleted? Xxxsacheinxxx (talk) 13:24, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Sachein91. You have new messages at Xymmax's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Future films[edit]

I'd like to ask that you please read WP:NFF very thoroughly, in order to ensure that you don't create articles which will be deleted. Our notability standard is not to accept articles for films until they have already started shooting (and we have a reliable source to confirm this after the fact). It is very common for films in development or pre-production to stall, which is why this criterion exists, and articles which fail to meet it are open to deletion. However, if you wish to start writing about these films now, you can start developing drafts on your userspace, and move them to the article-space when they satisfy NFF. Best of luck, Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 06:48, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Thaai Sollai Thattadhe[edit]

A tag has been placed on Thaai Sollai Thattadhe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CalendarWatcher (talk) 14:43, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hilton Hotels[edit]

There was not need to add Category:Hotels since the article is already in that category which is the parent for at least one of the included categories. If you look at Category:Hotels you will see that all of actual hotels are included in subcategories. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:26, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Jamesy.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 11:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sonnal Thaan Kathala[edit]

Hi Mr.Sachein, the movie I mentioned about was deleted because somebody moved the page to Sonnal Thaan Karadiya. As you know this movie was not a big hit but its songs were, and that makes it notable. I'm trying to convince those guys but they clearly don't know and think it's a hoax because actor, producer, director etc. are all the ame person i.e. T. Rajendar (which is the fact as you know!). Also it may have been deleted because in the cached version, somebody has written Karadi everywhere. Can you please help me with this case to explain to them this is not a hoax? You can refer to it here: Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2008 December 14. I look forward to your support. Please help me convince them this isn't a hoax movie/topic so they can restore the page so that the collection of A-Z Tamil movies on Wiki is not compromised. Thanks.
