Hi Rowie235 and thanks for taking an interest in Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Stonefield (band), you probably need to read Wikipedia's policy on external links. It can be found at WP:EL. Also, your continued removal of Darraweit Guim from the article needs an explanation. That the band is from Darraweit Guim is well sourced and appears to me to be entirely uncontroversial. Why do you continue to remove this? Cheers, Mattinbgn (talk) 22:31, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In news articles, the band appears to have made no secret of their hometown and I am sure how the information is at all a breach of their privacy or a risk to their safety. To remove uncontroversial, non-defamatory information from an article requires more than just some vague risk. The band also provide detailed information on their location every time they appear in a gig guide. However, if you are aware of something specific, you can email the information to the Wikipedia:Volunteer Response Team and they will consider the matter in confidence. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 22:36, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not re-add the links to social networking sites on the Stonefield (band) article without obtaining consensus on the talk page on why the central guideline should be ignored. Mtking (talk) 05:35, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

June 2011[edit]

Hello Rowie235. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Stonefield (band), you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Being a "personal friend of the band members" would be such a conflict. Mtking (talk) 06:35, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do thank you for these pointers. I would never use my position to post any non-neutral opinions or anything else conflicting. All I wish to do is keep the page as updated and accurate as possible with absolutely no bias. Cheers.--Rowie235 (talk) 06:57, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Please will you self revert this edit as you have breached WP:3RR. Mtking (talk) 06:39, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have self reverted that section. I was not aware that there were so many tiny rules about editing.
No problem, that is why I posted a note here. Mtking (talk) 06:44, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
