Thank you for unprotecting this. The protected version was a significantly reduced version by User:Philcha which I've reverted to the last version by User:MP 12. I'm not sure how it was created since the article appears to have been protected before the version was created. Any idea what was going on with the article? The Mad Genius 01:43, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, to be more accurate, the revert change didn't remove the information, it just commented out most of the previous article. Still can't see how the change was accomplished while the protection was on as User:Philcha doesn't seem to be an admin. The Mad Genius 01:48, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for blocking Don Patch5000 (talk · contribs); you've saved us from repetive spam-reverting. EDIT WAR ON ZANJ[edit]

A very silly edit war over words is going on on zanj it is a very simple problem. Based on the definition of a word, my argument is the word is specific and not a general word. My dispute tags are being deleted by a tag-team of people, who keep repeating one line of evidence, they refuse to reply to my issues and spend the time editing me, and not the article while restating the single source which is not referenced. I think the article should be locked until a resolution can be gained as i am part of the edit war and it will not stop until a 3rd responsible person shows up. Zanj. thanks--Halqh حَلَقَة הלכהሐላቃህ 22:15, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GTR-X image[edit]

Hi would it have been to much to give me some time to correct the license before it was deleted i was waiting for a email from the owner of the image to give me full rights to use it anywhere i wanted, just slow down a bit and give people time to fix up things. im sure you want Wikipedia to get better but if every time someone tries to improve it, there work get deleted etc people arn't going to bother, most people have a life outside of Wiki. Thank you Thuringowacityrep 01:13, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone who uploads an image like that and puts it in an article with their first edit should almost certainly be blocked indef immediately... Which is what I did. :-) Grandmasterka 03:34, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Riana! How are you?--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:28, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Sorry to take your time. But since you interfered with the dispute on the Kurds page, please kindly take a look at this comment[1]. This is not the first time that this user engages in personal attacks against me. Regards. Heja Helweda 05:00, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot. The problem is this is not his first time. Back in September 2006, he did the same thing in the middle of another dispute.[2],[3].Heja Helweda 05:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the user is claiming that a three headed dragon in ancient sources whose known for its evil is Persian. And his source is non-academic. It is like calling a group (and not to pick on any group, but lets say blacks who have been picked on a lot).. monsters and then use a unscholarly source. --alidoostzadeh 05:13, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as I know little to nothing about your subject, it may be wisest to discuss this on the article's talk page. – Riana shiny disco balls 05:16, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay let me make it clear. Think of a mythical creature like the cyclops or Medusa and then assign a modern ethnicity to it based on no historical source at all.. Anyways thanks for your help. --alidoostzadeh 05:23, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I understand that bit ;) But I can't help you any more effectively than that; level-headed discussion between the two of you will be much more fruitful. – Riana shiny disco balls 05:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Napack deletion[edit]

I didn't personally attack Tom Napack. I did go to middle school with him. He is gay (he identifies as such). And we did used to call him Nutsack. All the things I said were true. If anything you should question the credibility of the article. But i did not attack him, I was merely stating facts — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kangolcone (talkcontribs)

The image was in the process of getting a license[edit]

I have contacted the U.S society in charge of that website. They are going to send me the creative commons license soon . You should not have deleted it so soon. any way i'll post it as soon as i get the license — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abhishekupadhya (talkcontribs) 08:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure[edit]

I'll post the image along with the license file, as soon as I get one. How do I find images that have a GNU/GFDL/Creative commons license. That would me much easier , than asking for permissions. The wikimedia commons doesn't have an image for the article that I'm editing. Can you sugggest non-wikipedia free image sources, that have no license issues?

I was just trying to let the people see what I saw. Why is that bad? I don't tell them what to think, not that I could anway! Being aware and informed is a good thing, right? What do you mean by "canvassing"?

Yes, but this whole thing happened just yesterday after their support was given. So how could they have known about it? I don't have a vendetta, but I would by lying if it didn't scare me that someone of this caliber and agenda would be given administrative powers! The "cross-posting" was b/c I have the same thing to say to all of them. That is to say, please look at what I'm talking about and make your own mind up. Closing CfDs[edit]

Just a little note. :) When going to delete a category per a CfD, make sure that you have depopulated the category first. I ran into Category:SpongeBob SquarePants cast, which you deleted on March 4th. It still has 34 articles in it. I'll depop the cat. Just a pointer. I know you are a newish admin. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 09:41, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

my warning[edit]

i accept that i went OTT, but am so sick of this guy sockfarming that i just don't particularly care. the warning's fine and warranted, but it catches in my gut a little that this guy editwars and abuses constantly and nothing is ever done. for all i care at this point, ban both of us. there's little point in contributing to WP if all i do is spend my time fixing up his barrow-pushing. Some more thoughts

Both these IP's are in the same CIDR block. They are both controlled by Telstra - an Australian ISP. Editors that use these IP's have been pushing a POV for over 12 months here. These edits all take the same form. The editor picks 1-2 words each week, edits for his POV and then spends a week or so reverting despite what other editors suggest. How do I know they are the same person? A number of things. The constant refusal to sign any comments is one key. User talk:Rugby_666 was finally banned. That case can be looked at here:
‎Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Ehinger222
‎Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-11-27 Alan Oakley
‎Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Ehinger222 (2nd)
‎Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Ehinger222
‎Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Rugby 666

The Rubgy League POV pushing stopped for a short time but quickly started up again. Some examples: User 147.10.112.157 (A known Ehinger222 IP) made this edit [4] about Marconi Stadium. A week later the plans for a new stadium development were called off and the article updated. Then 5 new accounts were created, just to revert back to the now incorrect edit:

Reddoll17 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) Signor12345 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) Fifa1998 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) Wacko Jacko2 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) Redneckyank (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log).

After this the user has given up with registering new usernames and just uses IP's. His/Her latest series of edits are nothing more than tweaking Wikipedia for POVness. [5], [6], [7]. not to mention the endless POV stuff here [8].

here [9], both 144.132.217.29 (talk · contribs · count) 144.132.221.157 (talk · contribs · count) revert the page back to edits made by Rugby666, one of the banned usernames.

Given this has been going on for for many months, something really needs to be done. I would call for at least raising this ongoing wikipedia attack with the ISP, and blocking the IP range. Tancred 12:57, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rhianna. I have only been editing on here for about a month. I resent both the above two users basically harassing me, blatently lying, making deliberately false accusations, deliberately taking the wrong meaning, name calling, trying to gang-bully me off what is meant to be a community program, wishing death on me etc since I came on here and now trying to get me banned as well as them in an act not unlike suicide bombing. I wont react in like manner to their insults not because I lack the language, but because it is boring and a waste of my time on wikipedia. But your insinuation that I am the lunatic was both hurtful and demoralising. Every edit I make almost, these two/one person/people revert or attack. Most of the issues is over the use of the term football, and you can trust me, I am not in the wrong over as their general assertion is that it is only to be used for soccer which is obviously wrong in the Australian context, and have tried to be conciliatory despite everything. 144.132.217.29 13:59, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Columbus school[edit]

Good morning! Just to let you know that the db-nonsense was on this article for a reason. The same user has created a number of nonsense articles on the same people and places with conflicting information (one states the same person was born in both the USA and Colombia in different years). I've left info on this at both BigHaz and Shimeru. I'd appreciate it if you handle the restoration of the db-tag or just delete the article as I don't want to get involved in anything that could be construed as a revert war. And for future reference, I don't tag things for speedy if I'm not sure of the contents. Thanks! -Yupik 08:52, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

False 'free use' image[edit]

Hi! Since you were the first to leave me a welcome greeting, I thought I'd ask you something. A fair use image (falsely labelled as free) of Melody Thornton was posted here by JOE5634. A google image search of her name reveals the same photo in the first few pages (as seen here). Clearly a fair use photo. And if you look at this user's talk history, he explicitly said that this photo was "the best of any I could find"[10]. I posted this photo in Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images but the process seems rather 'sluggish' there. I added this Akon image on the disputed list & it's been up there for almost a week now. Would it be possible for you to simply delete the obviously fair use Melody Thornton image? If not, I'll just list it in the candidate list for speedy deletion. Any assistance would be appreciated. Spellcast 18:58, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother you again[edit]

I've been trying to figure out if this article should be deleted (like the user's page, too) since it seems spammy, original research, copyvio, dunno, but it strikes me as strange somehow. Any ideas? -Yupik 20:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re Nathan[edit]

Hey bud, as I understand nine of the ten edits he made yesterday were in violation of his agreement. He is only meant to edit in article, article talk and user talk, everything else is out-of-bounds. Close the rfa?[edit]

Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, put I think the rfa that's on my watchlist (see my contribs) is an hour overdue for closing ... and I thought wikipedia was fast. Anyway, should a 'crat come along to send adminship, as it is overdue for closing, and it has over 90% support? I think this should at least be closed sometime today, if possible. All I did was add a vote, so maybe I shouldn't overeact at the wiki's slowness. Anyway, bye. Thanks. AstroHurricane001(Talk+Contribs+Ubx) 17:32, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Riana,
I think my days with wiki are about over until some of the absurdity is resolved. Why would wiki allow me to attach a license to an image that you are just going to immediately delete? That license should not even be available to be selected. Sdenny123 14:07, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like someone's already unblocked him. It was a bit of an instinct to block when I noticed that all of his other less recent edits were used to change numbers, so I assumed he had been using subtle vandalism of some sort. --Wafulz 15:27, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am a man of action not of waiting I am sorry I just like to slap down the baddies as soon as I can. My friends account had been vandalized over 86 times! This kind of thing is why I joined! To avenge those who deserve it! Also to protect those that need it! I have waited oh too long for this as I love learning and just completely hate whoever gives false information! I want it to end an I believe I am the man for the job!

Hey btw, if i have any questions i can just ask you right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dynamictwo-o (talkcontribs)

Re:Hospital?[edit]

Thank you, Riana. =) I was surprised to see such a fast message hehe. I'm going tomorrow, and I hope everything goes well. Thanks again. :) Nishkid64 03:23, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea what's up with this user. I'm inclined to think it's an account someone created to see just how far they can annoy us before getting blocked. On the other hand, it could just be someone completely new who decided to jump right into things. I'll explain the purpose of page protection, and I guess we'll just have to monitor this account from now on. --Wafulz 04:11, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
