Speedy deletion nomination of XOLO[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on XOLO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. -

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to Micromax Mobile has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Speedy deletion nomination of XOLO[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on XOLO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Reply from Prajay : Hello, I'd like to inform you that XOLO is a notable company in India, and you removed 6.5+ k words from 3-4 people's mixed contributions and marked it for speedy deletion ? Well then half of the wiki articles should be deleted as well. This article was also reviewed by many other notable users. You removed the MAIN description of the article, well then half of the articles' description don't include "sources" as well. Well what would you do if I marked Australian companies' article for speedy deletion as NOT being notable ?

Nomination of XOLO for deletion[edit]

Information icon Hello, PrajayXG. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article XOLO, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Flat Out let's discuss it 23:09, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As requested in your post at my talk page, the problems with your editing of this article:

  • you seem to be an employee with a conflict of interest
  • you are using unreliable sources <ref>an edit by an employee</ref> is not an appropriate source and can't be verified.
  • you are adding unsourced content.
  • Also, you are not signing your talk page posts with the four tildes ~~~~. Flat Out let's discuss it 01:42, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just turned 13 a few days ago -_- I am an owner of a XOLO device.

Sourcing[edit]

Hey- returning your note! The problem with primary sourcing is that it cannot show notability, so it should be used sparingly. It can be used to back up trivial details, but it won't be able to show notability regardless of what the company claims. Generally speaking, the primary sources should really only be used along with non-primary sources that can back the claims up. It can be frustrating in some instances, but right now primary sources should probably be avoided.

Now as far as the controversy section goes, the problem with that is that it is unsourced. We must have coverage in reliable sources such as news articles that cover the controversies. An example of a good reliable source would be something such as this review by the Financial Express. Granted this is a positive review, but it's the type of coverage we need. • I've asked for some help from WP:TECHNOLOGY, a WikiProject devoted to technology. I might ask at another WP as well. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:02, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh- also, when it comes to sourcing we need to have links such as the one I gave you for the Financial Express. We can't just say that an employee said it. We have to be able to prove it via a news article that quotes an employee and so on. Now when it comes to the smaller details about products and product lines, we shouldn't include everything. Just a smaller amount of data is fine. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。)
