Why don't you simply add links to both universities? Anyway, if you plan to add relevant links, don't do it on top of others, add your links at the bottom...

August 2008[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Ckatzchatspy 21:49, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Media Power Inc.[edit]

A tag has been placed on Media Power Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Fugu Alienking (talk) 14:51, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mediapowerinclogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mediapowerinclogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:23, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Peter, I think you are going to have to step back from the Media Power article, given your apparent conflict of interest (seeing as how you work for the company.) As well, please do not add "featured article" tags to articles that have not achieved that status. --Ckatzchatspy 17:31, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ckatz, With all do respect I would like to continue to make this article possible. I would also like to point out that I am an unpaid intern and therefore am not an employee of Media Power. Also. Before you simply undo my edit please take note what you are changing. I spent alot of time Wikifying and adding references to this article in order to further legitimize it. I would appreciate it next time if you wouldn't remove those kind of positive additions. (PeterQuain (talk) 21:26, 11 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]
Paid or not, you are still involved with the organization in question, and as such a conflict exists. Think of it this way: as an intern, how likely are you to add text hat is critical of Media Power? If one of the universities involved in the research declares it is not a viable technology, would you be able to add that to the article? Would you feel that it might jeopardize your internship to do so? For that matter, might you be caught up in the excitement that surrounds new ventures, and as such unwillingly disregard negative press? The conflict of interest guideline doesn't just apply when a contributor is purposefully trying to skew an organization's article; it also helps to guide those who are acting in good faith, but may not realize their inherent conflict.
As for the text you added today, it was reverted in part because of the fact you rewrote some of the material in a manner not suitable for an encyclopedic treatment of the company. I have gone through and rewritten it accordingly. Listen, no-one wants to discourage you from contributing to the encyclopedia. However, it may be appropriate to seek other editors - who are not connected to the company - to review the article and assist in assessing it. --Ckatzchatspy 22:18, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Media Power[edit]

Peter, once again, please remember that you cannot use Wikipedia to promote technology developed by the company you are involved with. This is contrary to the conflict of interest and anti-spam guidelines. --Ckatzchatspy 16:52, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Voice reality links[edit]

I have nominated Voice reality links, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Voice reality links. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Speedy deletion of Voice reality links[edit]

A tag has been placed on Voice reality links requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

Re: Media Power, Geo-reality Links, Voice reality links, and Augmented reality links[edit]

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry if I'm being redundant but WP:COI states very clearly that with a few limited exceptions for removing blatant vandalism or fixing obvious typographical errors, anyone with a connection to an organization, entity or product should not write or edit articles concerning that organization, entity, or product. Its better to make a request at articles for creation, this way, an uninvolved Wikipedian can research and write a neutral version. Speedy deletion of Media Power[edit]

A tag has been placed on Media Power, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. re: Media Power repost[edit]

Peter,

Media Power was deleted solely because notability wasn't established (articles usually aren't deleted solely for conflict of interest, we try to improve and make them neutral before deleting them.) Article notability is proved through multiple, secondary, non-trivial sources. You cited three sources, of which one was a press release (as a primary source, these can sometimes be used to verify facts but not to establish notability), another was the company's website (also a primary source), and the third was a short mention in a magazine article, coverage in an article needs to be substantial in order to qualify as a reliable source.

The Wikipedia community has guidelines about what constitutes notability for a subject and what does not. Topics such as ARL, VRL, and GRL need to be covered about in other established media or peer reviewed journals to establish notability. Additionally, I'm not an administrator so I didn't actually delete Media Power (OrangeMike was the sysop who deleted the article), I only started a discussion regarding whether it met our guidelines. The deletion of the article could be overturned through the deletion review process.

Peace, Thom

Mister Senseless (Speak - Contributions) 15:17, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remember, Wikipedia is a reference work, not a news source. If a given topic is new, and there are no reliable sources providing substantive discussion of the topic, then it is not yet notable, and efforts to create Wikipedia articles about it before it becomes notable will be futile. In addition, you cannot simply dismiss our concerns about your conflict of interest. A person in a situation like yours is inherently handicapped in maintaining the requisite neutral point of view towards affairs with which he/she is concerned. Thus, we expect that articles should be created and edited primarily or exclusively by those without such built-in biases. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:33, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Media Power, from its old location at User:PeterQuain/Media Power Inc. Draft. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 05:18, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Media Power[edit]

Hello, PeterQuain. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Media Power".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 15:59, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
