Information icon Hello, I'm CAPTAIN RAJU. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Steven Beale has been undone because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. CAPTAIN RAJU () 18:46, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of Emmerdale characters (2011). Your edits continue to appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: List of Emmerdale characters (2011) was changed by PenguinsElite (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.871285 on 2016-06-17T18:28:14+00:00 .

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joe Weller (YouTube) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  Velella  Velella Talk   21:22, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:JasonDaweTopGear2002.jpeg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:JasonDaweTopGear2002.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. AussieLegend () 20:22, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please note that non-free images are not permitted in the infoboxes of biographies of living persons as they violate the first criteria of our non-free content policy in that there is a reasonable expectation that a free image of a living person could be obtained. --AussieLegend () 20:25, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting articles[edit]

When splitting articles, it is a requirement that proper attribution be provided per WP:CWW. When you split content from Jay Leno's Garage to List of Jay Leno's Garage episodes you did not provide the required attribution, which constitutes a copyright violation. Please note that, per MOS:TV, we do not generally create episode list articles until season 2 of a series commences airing. --AussieLegend () 21:04, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Top Gear (series 24) listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Top Gear (series 24). Since you had some involvement with the Top Gear (series 24) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Alex|The|Whovian? 15:11, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Grand Tour (series 1)[edit]

Please stop recreating The Grand Tour (series 1). It is far too early for such an article. The normal process for TV article creation is to create the main series article and add series one content there. When series 2 episode information is available, and if substantial content is available for series 2, then List of The Grand Tour episodes will be created. At some time, when that article becomes too large, we then look at creating individual series articles. We certainly do NOT create individual series articles even before the first episode airs. --AussieLegend () 18:03, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just because you have created a draft of this article doesn't mean that content should be removed from the main article. Please do not do so again. As it stands, your draft is extremely premature; a series 1 article will probably not be required for at least a year. --AussieLegend () 16:41, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Rory Reid Linkedln.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rory Reid Linkedln.jpeg, which you've attributed to https://uk.linkedin.com/in/rory-reid-53410132. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AussieLegend () 19:28, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@PenguinsElite: This is to let you know that your recent edit to Top Gear (series 18) were reverted. Moving information about the airing of the Series' specials and episodes from the Lead paragraph into a Production section made no sense, as Production should contain information about the filming of the series, not about the specials' airing dates. A tag has been placed on File:Tom Holland CACW.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Doctor Who (series 10)[edit]

Please explain your move of Doctor Who (series 10) to Draft:Doctor Who (series 10). License tagging for File:Chrisharrisoncarslogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chrisharrisoncarslogo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. The X Factor[edit]

Hi, can you please not remove symbols from tables as you did here. The symbols are necessary for the article to comply with WP:COLOUR ("Ensure that color is not the only method used to convey important information. Especially, do not use colored text or background unless its status is also indicated using another method such as an accessible symbol matched to a legend, or footnote labels. Otherwise, blind users or readers accessing Wikipedia through a printout or device without a color screen will not receive that information."), which is meant to apply to the whole of Wikipedia. If you have a valid reason why the article shouldn't comply, other than "it looks messy" (not a valid reason), please let me know. If you wanted to do something useful, you could help add the symbols to the other articles. Thanks. anemoneprojectors 14:07, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, PenguinsElite. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Mark Whitten[edit]

The article Mark Whitten has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article does not meet WP:GNG, most of the information is taken from iMDB which violates WP:USERG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copyright[edit]

Hello PenguinsElite! I've had to remove the plot summary you added to The Great Gatsby (2000 film) because it came from IMDB and is therefore copyrighted. You can't copy any text you find on the internet into a Wikipedia article unless it is marked as Free. Even if there's not a "Copyright 2017" type notice, that's not good enough. It has to actually say Free to use, reuse, etc before it can be used here.

I see you've been warned about this many times above. I also note that you've never responded to a single message on this page. This is not good, as I don't know if you're just not seeing the messages, not understanding all the technical terms, or what. So please, respond to me here and let me know that you understand our policy on Copyright (you can click HERE to read it), and that you'll abide by it. Otherwise I fear one more such copying will result in you being blocked until you do acknowledge the concerns and agree to abide by them. And nobody wants that to happen.

I know copyright is a remarkably complex issue, so please feel free to ask me anything about it and I'll try my best to help out. But please do respond here to say that you've seen this. Thanks! CrowCaw 22:01, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Faith of the Furious is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Replaceable fair use File:Top Gear 2002 Hosts.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Top Gear 2002 Hosts.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ytoyoda (talk) 11:32, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ryan Catterick has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subjects fails WP:NFOOTBALL as has not played in a fully professional league, and no indication topic has received enough coverage to satisfy WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copyrights - Your attention needed[edit]

Hello PenguinsElite. I see you've uploaded another photo from the Internet (File:Garry_Monk_Swansea_City_Manager_2014.jpg) only to have it tagged for copyright, which it is. The source you gave specifically sources it to Getty Images, and there is no free release noted. I hate to say this, but you're on thin ice regarding copyrights... you've been warned many times above and blocked at least once for repeatedly adding copyrighted stuff. You need to stop doing this, or I fear your next block may be indefinite.

Copyright is one of those things that we have to be strict on, as it has potential legal implications for Wikipedia. You've got good enthusiasm, and I'd hate to see you blocked over something like this. Copyright is a complicated area to understand, and I'm sure you're just not realizing when you're crossing that line. So please accept this advice... follow these couple of steps and you are sure to steer clear of further issues:

  • Don't copy any text into any article that you found on the internet, or even read somewhere. Write everything in your own words. Imagine that you're explaining it to a friend at lunch, and write it like that. It may not be perfect the first time, but that's no problem and is easily fixed. And if it's in your own words, there's no copyright concern.
  • Don't upload any images that you find on the internet. At all. Every photo taken these days is automatically copyrighted, even if it doesn't say so. In order for us to use those, the owner has to specifically release it under a specific set of licenses. Until you understand all those nuances, the best way to go is not to upload any images from the internet. If you find one that you think is ok to use, even then don't upload it, but ask someone on the talk page to see if it is ok. You can even ask me if nobody is answering. The pic might be a lot better than the one you're replacing, but if it is copyrighted, then we still can't use it.
  • In general, if you're not sure whether something is ok to use, then don't use it, but rather ask someone first.

If you do all of these, you're sure to be ok with copyright issues. Feel free to ask me anything, thanks! CrowCaw 18:40, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, PenguinsElite. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The X Factor".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 19:44, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, PenguinsElite. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Strictly Come Dancing".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 16:26, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Mark Whitten has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Andre🚐 07:54, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Mark Whitten[edit]

Hello PenguinsElite, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Mark Whitten, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mark Whitten.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Andrevan}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
